A visual basic spreadsheet macro for recession curve analysis 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
A Visual Basic program for an Excel spreadsheet was written to construct a master recession curve (MRC), using the adapted matching strip method, for recession analysis of ground water level time series. The program uses five different linear/nonlinear regression models to adjust individual recession segments to their proper positions in the MRC. The program can also be used to analyze the recession segments of other time series, such as daily stream discharge or stage. Some examples of field data from Croatia are used to illustrate the usefulness of its application. 相似文献

Summary Calculations are carried out of upward propagation of a tropospherically forced 10-day planetary wave into the upper middle atmosphere with the use of the COMMA-R model of the University of Cologne, of its transformation into a wave in electron density by means of the model of the Comenius University, and of its final transformation into a wave in radio wave absorption in the lower ionosphere applying the computer code of the Geophysical Institute. The calculations show that the absorption may be used for investigating the planetary wave activity, particularly of its long-term trends. The possibility of propagation of planetary waves from the winter hemisphere to the summer hemisphere is illustrated, which could contribute to explanation of the occurrence of travelling planetary waves in the mesosphere in summer.Dedicated to the Memory of Professor Karel P 相似文献

Summary The Dinarides, the Eastern Alps and the Western Carpathians being situated at the borders of the Pannonian basin, are of very
similar origin. Therefore, the results obtained in the investigation of correlations between Earth gravity field parameters
(absolute geoid undulations, gravity anomalies), the surface topography and the shape of the Mohorovičić discontinuity, were
compared. It was found that these three regions have the same basic characteristics, but also their own specific features.
While the similarities follow clearly from these investigations, the found differences might partly be a consequence of non-uniformity
and unmatched quality of data sets used for the three regions.
A short version of this paper, entitled "Kindredness of three mountain belts at the border of the Pannonian basin — deduced
from the behavior of the Mohorovičić discontinuity" was presented at the 7th International Symposium "Geodesy and Physics
of the Earth", Potsdam, October 5–10, 1992 and published in the Proceedings.

The quantification of percolation processes and deep drainage rates in cracking clays is challenging due to the existence of multiple flow pathways, including desiccation crack networks, and the effect of variability in antecedent soil moisture and rain event properties. While most previous research on this topic focuses on long-term average rates, this study focusses on inter-event dynamics. The study uses data from soil moisture sensors distributed vertically down 4 m profiles of Vertosol and Chromosol soils across 13 sites over an area of approximately 20 km2. The objectives were to estimate the temporal and spatial variability of deep drainage rates and to investigate the effect of antecedent soil moisture conditions and rain event properties on deep drainage rates and percolation dynamics. 35 deep drainage events over a 40-month period contributed 78 % of the total deep drainage of 254 mm at 4 m depth. Average deep drainage estimates were about 15 % (ranging from 0 – 80 % between sites) of total rainfall and irrigation in the Vertosol and 8% (0 – 24 %) in the Chromosol. The event water travel times at 4 m depth were 0.25 – 38 hr and 14 – 39 hr in the Vertosol and Chromosol respectively. The event deep drainage rates averaged across sites were associated with event rainfall volumes (linear regression R2 = 0.40), with the effect of antecedent conditions evident only when looking at inter-site differences. The percolation response time was strongly associated with higher rainfall intensities (R2 = 0.33) with no evidence from the linear regression of an antecedent moisture effect. 相似文献

Ground survey within the Nature Park Lonjsko Polje, placed in the middle-northern Croatia was performed during the time interval
2007–2010 in order to find the best location for installing the geomagnetic observatory. The total magnetic field has been
measured a few times using the Overhauser proton magnetometers. The horizontal and vertical gradients of the total field,
and its temporal behaviour were investigated over the restricted region that we estimated as suitable for the observatory.
The results obtained from thoroughly conducted measurements allowed us to find definitive positions for the instrument pillars.
These results are in agreement with previously suggested location found based on combination of Comprehensive CM4 model prediction
and measurements conducted from 2003 to 2005. This study contributes to the development of geomagnetism in Croatia and paves
a way to install the first geomagnetic observatory in Croatia. 相似文献

The effects of the photosystem II (PSII) herbicide diuron was assessed on thirteen tropical foraminifera hosting diatom, dinoflagellate, red or green algae endosymbionts. Inhibition of photosynthesis (reduced ΔF/F(m)(')) by diuron depended on both symbiont type and test ultrastructure, with greatest sensitivity observed for diatom- and chlorophyte-hosting species (24h IC(25) 2.5-4μg L(-1)). Inhibition kinetics was slow (24-48h until maximum inhibition) in comparison with corals, suggesting structural differences may influence herbicide uptake and transport. Although foraminifera were generally less sensitive to direct effects of diuron (inhibition ΔF/F(m)(')) than other marine phototrophs, damage to PSII (reduction F(v)/F(m)) occurred at concentrations lower than observed for other organisms (24h IC(25) 3-12μg L(-1)). Damage to PSII was highly light dependent and occurred at very low light intensities indicating limited photoprotective capacity. The high diversity, widespread occurrence and relative sensitivity make foraminifera good bioindicator organisms to evaluate phytotoxic stress on coral reefs. 相似文献

Spatial decision-making in time-critical situations requires effective and usable two-dimensional and three-dimensional (3D) cartographic products. Holographic displays allow decision makers to work with auto-stereoscopic maps without the hassle of interacting with complex user interfaces or additional vision hardware. Holographic production processes have advanced greatly in a short period and now support timely and full integration of digital 3D models in geospatial holograms. George Mason University’s and Zebra Imaging’s research on interactive holographic motion displays showcases the leadership in moving cartography and geovisualization research in the US forward. In close cooperation with academic researchers, decision makers, and domain experts, the usability and usefulness of these cartographic products is tested and design guidelines for effective geospatial holograms are being developed. 相似文献

The form of visual representation affects both the way in which the visual representation is processed and the effectiveness of this processing. Different forms of visual representation may require the employment of different cognitive strategies in order to solve a particular task; at the same time, the different representations vary as to the extent to which they correspond with an individual’s preferred cognitive style. The present study employed a Navon-type task to learn about the occurrence of global/local bias. The research was based on close interdisciplinary cooperation between the domains of both psychology and cartography. Several different types of tasks were made involving avalanche hazard maps with intrinsic/extrinsic visual representations, each of them employing different types of graphic variables representing the level of avalanche hazard and avalanche hazard uncertainty. The research sample consisted of two groups of participants, each of which was provided with a different form of visual representation of identical geographical data, such that the representations could be regarded as ‘informationally equivalent’. The first phase of the research consisted of two correlation studies, the first involving subjects with a high degree of map literacy (students of cartography) (intrinsic method: N?=?35; extrinsic method: N?=?37). The second study was performed after the results of the first study were analyzed. The second group of participants consisted of subjects with a low expected degree of map literacy (students of psychology; intrinsic method: N?=?35; extrinsic method: N?=?27).The first study revealed a statistically significant moderate correlation between the students’ response times in extrinsic visualization tasks and their response times in a global subtest (r?=?0.384, p?<?0.05); likewise, a statistically significant moderate correlation was found between the students’ response times in intrinsic visualization tasks and their response times in the local subtest (r?=?0.387, p?<?0.05). At the same time, no correlation was found between the students’ performance in the local subtest and their performance in extrinsic visualization tasks, or between their scores in the global subtest and their performance in intrinsic visualization tasks. The second correlation study did not confirm the results of the first correlation study (intrinsic visualization/‘small figures test’: r?=?0.221; extrinsic visualization/‘large figures test’: r?=?0.135). The first phase of the research, where the data was subjected to statistical analysis, was followed by a comparative eye-tracking study, whose aim was to provide more detailed insight into the cognitive strategies employed when solving map-related tasks. More specifically, the eye-tracking study was expected to be able to detect possible differences between the cognitive patterns employed when solving extrinsic- as opposed to intrinsic visualization tasks. Latitude-lumped coefficients (LLC) are defined, representing geopotential-orbit variations for dual-satellite crossovers (DSC). Formulae are derived for their standard errors from the covariances of geopotential field models. Numerical examples are
presented for pairs of the altimeter-bearing satellites TOPEX/Poseidon, ERS 1, and Geosat, using the error matrices of recent
gravity models. The DSC, connecting separate missions, will play an increasingly important role in oceanography spanning decades
only when its nonoceanographic signals are thoroughly understood. In general, the content of even the long-term averaged DSC
is more complex then their single satellite crossover (SSC) counterpart. The LLC, as the spatial spectra for the geopotential-caused
crossover effects, discriminate these source-differences sharply. Thus, the zero-order LLC in DSC data contains zonal gravity
information not present in SSC data. In addition, zero- and first-order LLC of DSC data can reveal a geocenter discrepancy
between the orbit tracking of the separate satellite missions. For example, DSC analysis from orbits computed with JGM 2 show
that the y-axis of the geocenter for Geosat in 1986–1988 is shifted with respect to T/P by 6–9 cm towards the eastern Pacific. Also,
where the time-gap is necessarily large (as between, say, Geosat and T/P missions) oceanographic (sea-level) differences in
DSC may corrupt the geopotential interpretation of the data. Most importantly, as we illustrate, media delays for the altimeter
(from the ionosphere, wet troposphere and sea-state bias) are more likely sources of contamination across two missions than
in SSC analyses. Again, the LLC of zero order best shows this contrast. Using the higher-order LLC of DSC for both Geosat-T/P
and ERS 1-T/P as likely representation of geopotential-only error, we show by comparison with the predicted standard errors
of JGM 2 that the latter's previously calibrated covariance matrix is generally valid.
