The results of geotechnical explorations, engineering geological investigation (including laboratory and in situ tests) and
field observations have been used, along with borehole logging charts, to obtain the rock mass geotechnical data. Based on
the data, the rock mass along the Sabzkuh water conveyance tunnel route was classified by rock mass rating (RMR), Q-system
(Q), rock mass index (RMi) and geological strength index (GSI) (3 methods). A new series of correlations were established between
the systems based on the data collected from the study area. These relationships were then compared with those reported in
the literature, and two new relations were recommended. The classifications were utilized to calculate mechanical properties
(rock mass strength and deformation modulus) of the rock mass along the tunnel according to available empirical relations,

A new criterion for lunar crescent visibility has been established using 737 observations, almost half of them obtained by
the Islamic Crescent Observation Project (ICOP). This criterion is based on two variables, viz. the topocentric arc of vision
and the topocentric crescent width. The new model is able to predict the visibility of the lunar crescent both for naked eye
and optically aided observations. From the database we found a Danjon limit of 6.4 degrees.

Regional landscape-ecological studies have acquired a special topicality as they assure efficient environmental conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. A landscape-ecological analysis was performed based on four basic integral indices: (1) ecological potential, (2) ecological stability, (3) ecological load and (4) ecological tension. The values of basic integral indices of the landscape-ecological analysis were calculated as sums of respective factors expressed in scores and multiplied by their significance reflecting coefficients. In agreement with that rule, a formula was derived of calculation of basic indices of landscape-ecological analysis. Subsequently, those factors were integrated by ‘Model Builder’ in ArcGIS applying ‘Weighted Sum’ functions. Finally, through geographic information systems modelling, maps of basic indices of landscape-ecological analysis were produced. New solutions of the equations of the bimetric scalar-tensor theory of gravitation for neutron stars are found. In these solutions the scalar field is constant, φ = φφ, while the metric space-time tensor is determined by the equations of the general theory of relativity. The problem was to find a background metric corresponding to φφ. Solutions with a variable φ were studied earlier [M. R. Avakian, L. Sh. Grigorian, and A. A.
