The shape of the arms of spiral galaxies is usually described by logarithmic spiralswith constant pitch angles, however, some galaxies display variations of the pitch angle along their spiral arms. We propose a method of determining the pitch angle of the arms in spiral galaxies based on the window Fourier analysis of their images. This method allows us not only to infer the average pitch angle, but also to obtain its value as a function of galactocentric radius. The method is implemented in the form of freely available programs.  相似文献

The main characteristics of the PENGUIN-M instrument are given. The instrument has been operating aboard the CORONAS-PHOTON spacecraft (SC) launched into orbit on January 30, 2009. The instrument includes the PENGUIN-MD detector unit (PMD) and the PENGUIN-ME electronic unit (PMD). The purpose of the experiment is to measure the degree of linear polarization of X-ray radiation from solar flares in the energy range of 20–150 keV and to obtain energy spectra of X-ray radiation from solar flares in the energy range of 2–500 keV. The paper describes the instrument, calibration procedure, and in-flight adjustment, and contains the first results of measurements.  相似文献

The possibility of generation of additional acoustic harmonics in the geomagnetic field after the propagation of an acoustic wave in the conducting medium through the region with a variable magnetic field has been considered. Two possible procedures of such a generation have been analyzed: the parametric procedure and the dynamic procedure related to ponderomotive forces. The expressions have been obtained for three acoustic harmonics generated by an oscillating magnetic field.  相似文献

The Sakharjok Y-Zr deposit in Kola Peninsula is related to the fissure alkaline intrusion of the same name. The intrusion ∼7 km in extent and 4–5 km2 in area of its exposed part is composed of Neoarchean (2.68–2.61 Ma) alkali and nepheline syenites, which cut through the Archean alkali granite and gneissic granodiorite. Mineralization is localized in the nepheline syenite body as linear zones 200–1350 m in extent and 3–30 m in thickness, which strike conformably to primary magmatic banding and trachytoid texture of nepheline syenite. The ore is similar to the host rocks in petrography and chemistry and only differs from them in enrichment in zircon, britholite-(Y), and pyrochlore. Judging from geochemical attributes (high HSFE and some incompatible element contents (1000–5000 ppm Zr, 200–600 ppm Nb, 100–500 ppm Y, 0.1–0.3 wt % REE, 400–900 ppm Rb), REE pattern, Th/U, Y/Nb, and Yb/Ta ratios), nepheline syenite was derived from an enriched mantle source similar to that of contemporary OIB and was formed as an evolved product of long-term fractional crystallization of primary alkali basaltic melt. The ore concentrations are caused by unique composition of nepheline syenite magma (high Zr, Y, REE, Nb contents), which underwent subsequent intrachamber fractionation. Mineralogical features of zircon-the main ore mineral—demonstrate its long multistage crystallization. The inner zones of prismatic crystals with high ZrO2/HfO2 ratio (90, on average) grew during early magmatic stage at a temperature of 900–850°C. The inner zones of dipyramidal crystals with average ZrO2/HfO2 = 63 formed during late magmatic stage at a temperature of ∼500°C. The zircon pertaining to the postmagmatic hydrothermal stage is distinguished by the lowest ZrO2/HfO2 ratio (29, on average), porous fabric, abundant inclusions, and crystallization temperature below 500°C. The progressive decrease in ZrO2/HfO2 ratio was caused by evolution of melt and postmagmatic solution. The metamorphic zircon rims relics of earlier crystals and occurs as individual rhythmically zoned grains with an averaged ZrO2/HfO2 ratio (45, on average) similar to that of the bulk ore composition. The metamorphic zircon is depleted in uranium in comparison with magmatic zircon, owing to selective removal of U by aqueous metamorphic solutions. Zircon from the Sakharjok deposit is characterized by low concentrations of detrimental impurities, in particular, contains only 10–90 ppm U and 10–80 ppm Th, and thus can be used in various fields of application.  相似文献

The X-ray spectrometer IRIS was designed to register the fluxes of quanta with energies ranging from 2 to 250 keV in various time-resolution modes: 0.01, 1.0, and 2.5 s in 4, 64, and 12 channels, respectively. Owing to the high instrument sensitivity, individual spikes of tens of milliseconds can be distinguished in the time structure of the X-ray flare emission. The time spectral analysis carried out for the X-ray emission of a number of registered flares points to the presence of a quasiperiodic structure with characteristic times of the same order. For the flares of December 19, 2001, and August 10, 2002, the process of energy release has been considered with a 1-s time resolution, and its periodic character has been revealed. For the flare of December 19, 2001, the energy spectra of the hard X-ray emission have been simulated by thermal and nonthermal models. It has been shown that the both models can describe this emission.  相似文献

The general theory of the distribution of the volume and surface magnetic mass within 3-D anisotropic bodies and solving the forward problem is given in this paper. An algorithm for calculating the magnetic fields of monoclines of complex shape and folded structures with uniform anisotropy is constructed. The algorithm is based on the regularities in the relationship between the magnetic susceptibility of anisotropy, tectonic structure, and the anomalous magnetic field established experimentally by Zavoisky. These regularities not only simplify the solution of the problem, but significantly facilitate the preparation of original field data necessary for solving it. The latter circumstance is of especial importance. The algorithm is designed for wide practical application in the construction of 3-D magnetic models of local and regional geological structures.We draw attention to the fact that the use of a curvilinear coordinate system is reasonable in cases when the distribution of the magnetic mass density in anisotropic geological formations is studied.The features of the relationship between the intensity and induction of a magnetic field in different unit systems are pointed out in their application to magnetology problems.  相似文献

The Sopcheozero chromite deposit is hosted in dunite of the Monchegorsk layered intrusion as a sheetlike body of disseminated ore with a chromite grade varying from 20 to 60%. The total PGM content in the ore attains 0.5–0.8 g/t. The composition of host rocks varies from plagioclase peridotite to dunite, but PGM were found only in chromite-bearing dunite. PGM inclusions were detected in the interstices of chromite and olivine grains and within grains themselves. The data obtained confirm the known tendency toward variation in PGM composition with increasing sulfur and light PGE contents in the residual magmatic melt. The first particles of refractory Ir, Os, and Ru intermetallides appeared at the final stage of olivine crystallization, whereas laurite (Ru,Os,Ir)S2 and pentlandite (Fe,Ni)9S8 were formed at the final stage of chromite crystallization, when the sulfur concentration in the residual melt became sufficient.  相似文献

The time structure and energy spectrum evolution of the X-ray emission of solar flares, observed by the IRIS spectrometer onboard the CORONAS-F spacecraft, are investigated. It has been found out that one or two quasi-periodic components with periods of 1–20 s, which are absent in the background preflare emission, appear in the flare soft X rays. It has been indicated that the variation in the shape of the energetic spectra of the C-class flare hard X rays reflects the evolution of the accelerated electron distribution function.  相似文献
