The colour indices and the spectrum-luminosity classification of the eclipsing binary system IZ Persei have been presented for the first time. The colour indices of the system appear reddened. Applying the interstellar reddening corrections, the spectral-luminosity classes of the primary and the secondary components of IZ Per come out to be B2.5III-V and B5III-V, respectively. Automatic change detection of land cover features using high-resolution satellite images, is a challenging problem in the field of intelligent remote sensing data interpretation, and is becoming more and more effective for its applications viz. urban planning and monitoring, disaster assessment etc. In the present study, a change in detection approach based on the image morphology that analyses change in the local image grids is proposed. In this approach, edges from both the images are extracted and grid wise comparison is made by probabilistic thresholding and power spectral density analysis for identifying change area. One of the advantages of the proposed methodology is that the temporal images used in the change analysis need not be radiometrically corrected as analysis is based on edge extractions. The grid-based analysis further reduces the error, which might have been introduced by image mis-registration. The proposed methodology is validated by finding the temporal changes in the linear land cover features in parts of Kolkata city, India using three different image data-sets from LISS IV, Cartosat-1 and Google earth having varied spatial resolutions of 5.8 m, 2.5 m and about 1 m, respectively. The overall accuracy in identifying changes is found to be 64.82, 73.86 and 80.93% for LISS IV, Cartosat-1 and Google earth data-set, respectively. 相似文献

The River Ganga in the central Gangetic plain shows the incision of 20 m of Late Quaternary sediments that form a vast upland terrace (T2). The incised Ganga River Valley shows two terraces, namely the river valley (terrace-T1) and the present-day flood plain (terrace-T0). Terrace-T1 shows the presence of meander scars, oxbow lakes, scroll plains, which suggests that a meandering river system prevailed in the past. The present-day river channel flows on terrace-T0 and is braided, sensu stricto. It is thus inferred that the River Ganga experienced at least two phases of tectonic adjustments: (1) incision and (2) channel metamorphosis from meandering to braided.Optical dating of samples from three different terraces has bracketed the phase of incision to be <6 and 4 ka. Different ages of the top of terrace-T2 show that this surface experienced differential erosion due to tectonic upwarping in the region, which also caused the river incision. Super-active region NOAA 6555 was highly flare productive during the period March 21st–27th, 1991 of its disk passage. We
have st udied its chromospheric activity using high spatial resolution Hα filtergrams taken at Udaipur along with MSFC vector
magnetograms. A possible relationship of flare productivity and the variation in shear has been explored. Flares were generally
seen in those subareas of the active region which possessed closed magnetic field configuration, whereas only minor flares
and/or surges occurred in subareas showing open magnetic field configuration. Physical mechanisms responsible for the observed

Granulometric analysis of nineteen sediment samples has been carried out for their statistical and textural parameters. The
samples are collected from the northern and southern margins of Schirmacher Oasis extending below the polar ice sheet and
grading to coastal area respectively and main rocky land of Schirmacher including lakes. The analysis shows that most of the
sediments are of medium grain size and fall in poor to very poor sorted category.
An attempt has been made to interpret the depositional set-up by plotting the scatter patterns between various textural parameters,
including C-M plot and arithmetic log-probability curves. The influence of physical parameters viz. low to high velocity winds,
