We present the results of a program to obtain an accurate (better than 100 mas) astrometry of HST images of NGC 1068 and consequently
a direct registration with radio images. The optical peak seen in the HST images is located at α = 02h42m40.711s, δ = -00°00′47.81
(J2000, FK5), with an error of 80 mas. The hidden nucleus, as determined by HST imaging polarimetry, falls at α = 02h42m40.710s,
δ = -00°00′48.11. It is offset toward the South, i.e. along the radio axis, with respect to the inverted spectrum radio component,
S1, by 170 mas (12 pc). This does not rule out that S1 is indeed associated with the obscuring torus and the central engine,
but suggests that the nucleus of NGC 1068 might be radio silent or its emission absorbed also at radio wavelengths.
An anti-correlation between radio and optical emission is revealed; the radio jet lies on a region of relatively low optical
emission and is surrounded by line-emitting clouds. These results can be understood as due the interaction between the jet
and the surrounding medium. The outflowing plasma is sweeping and heating the interstellar gas causing the line-emission to
be highly enhanced along the edges of the radio jet. It appears that the morphology of the Narrow Line Region of NGC 1068
is dominated by the presence of a radio outflow, as already revealed by HST observations of several Seyfert galaxies with
extended radio emission.

Abstract— We reviewed here the recent development on the mathematical formulation of closure temperature of a cooling geochronological system, which permits direct retrieval of cooling rate from cooling age when the diffusion parameters, grain size and initial temperature are known. This formulation is used to show how the cooling rate can be retrieved by comparing the core and bulk age of a mineral determined by a single decay system. The cooling rates of seven H chondrites of the metamorphic types H4, H5 and H6 were retrieved from the available data on the Pb‐Pb model ages of the phosphates and the diffusion kinetic data of Pb in apatite. The results are in excellent agreement with the metallographic cooling rates and show an inverse relation with the metamorphic grade of these chondrites. We also addressed the problem of ~90 Ma younger Sm‐Nd mineral isochron age, defined by orthopyroxene, phosphate and plagioclase, of the Morristown mesosiderite compared to the Pb‐Pb age of the Estherville mesosiderite. It is shown that this younger age could have been a consequence of resetting during cooling instead of an “impulsive heating” event, as suggested earlier. 相似文献

In the marine environment, vibrios adhere to a number of substrates including chitin-rich organisms such as crustaceans. Their wide diffusion in coastal waters and pathogenic potential require knowledge of the lifestyle and environmental reservoirs of these bacteria. To test the presence of culturable vibrios in coastal areas and their association with benthic crustaceans, vibrios were isolated from water, sediments and crustaceans (copepods and anphipods) at three stations placed in front of heavily used tourist beaches of the Adriatic Sea. We observed significant correlations between vibrios and temperature. Benthic and planktonic copepods harboured vibrios in summer, while benthic amphipods harboured these bacteria in spring and autumn. Vibrio alginolyticus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains gave positive results using primers for Vibrio cholerae toxR and toxS. Sedimentary crustaceans may extend Vibrio persistence in seawater and may represent an additional aquatic reservoir of these bacteria. 相似文献
