Fine structure observations of the frequency spectrum of the S-component in the solar radio emission are described. Measurements were carried out in August 1976 and August 1977 using a 22 m parabolic antenna and a radiospectrograph operating over the frequency range 5.0 to 7.0 GHz, with the resolution 60 MHz. Measurement techniques are described. Fine structures (150–800 MHz) as great as 20% of the local source radiation level were observed in radio emission spectra of a number of these sources. The spectrum structures observed were changed in the process of active region development. 相似文献

The mean daily range in horizontal intensity at low latitudes shows a significant departure on the day of a sector boundary passage in relation to its magnitude on adjacent days with a measure of dependence on phase of the solar activity. It is shown that this arises because of a substantial difference, in the nature of the response to sector boundary passage, between the instantaneous maximum field and minimum field. From the fact that the responses at three stations spanning the latitudes near dip equator to that near the focus of Sq currents are almost identical, it is suggested that the cause of the observed feature is primarily disturbance and is essentially non-ionospheric. Differences in the nature of responses between pre-1957 and post-1957 periods reported earlier in the planetary indices or low latitude disturbance indices are shown to be true for the daily range, maximum and minimum fields at low latitudes. 相似文献

Within the German Tropospheric Research Programme (TFS) numerous kinetic and mechanistic studies on the tropospheric reaction/degradation of the following reactants were carried out: oxygenated VOC, aromatic VOC, biogenic VOC, short-lived intermediates, such as alkoxy and alkylperoxy radicals.At the conception of the projects these selected groups were classes of VOC or intermediates for which the atmospheric oxidation mechanisms were either poorly characterised or totally unknown. The motivation for these studies was the attainment of significant improvements in our understanding of the atmospheric chemical oxidation processes of these compounds, particularly with respect to their involvement in photooxidant formation in the troposphere. In the present paper the types of experimental investigations performed and the results obtained within the various projects are briefly summarised. The major achievements are highlighted and discussed in terms of their contribution to improving our understanding of the chemical processes controlling photosmog formation in the troposphere. 相似文献

A simple climate model has been developed to investigate the existence of the small ice cap instability in the Southern Hemisphere.
The model consists of four coupled components: an atmospheric energy balance model, a thermodynamic snow-sea ice model, an
oceanic mixed layer model and a terrestrial ice model. Results from a series of experiments involving different degrees of
coupling in the model show that the instability appears only in those cases when an explicit representation of the Antarctic
ice sheet is not included in the model. In order to determine which physical processes in the ice sheet model lead to a stabilization
of the system we have conducted several sensitivity experiments in each of which a given ice sheet process has been removed
from the control formulation of the model. Results from these experiments suggest that the feedback between the elevation
of the ice sheet and the snow accumulation-ice ablation balance is responsible for the disappearance of the small ice cap
instability in our simulation. In the model, the mass balance of the ice sheet depends on the air temperature at sea level
corrected for altitude and it is, therefore, a function of surface elevation. This altitude-mass balance feedback effectively
decouples the location of the ice edge from any specific sea level isotherm, thus decreasing the model sensitivity to the
albedo-temperature feedback, which is responsible for the appearance of the instability. It is also shown that the elevation-radiative
cooling feedback tends to stabilize the ice sheet, although its effect does not seem to be strong enough to remove the instability.
Another interesting result is that for those simulations which include the terrestrial ice model with elevation-dependent
surface mass balance, hysteresis is exhibited, where for a given level of external forcing, two stable solutions with different,
non-zero ice-sheet volume and area and different air and ocean temperature fields occur. However, no unstable transition between
the two solutions is ever observed. Our results suggest that the small ice cap instability mechanism could be unsuitable for
explaining the inception of glaciation in Antarctica.

This study presents the Bottom-hole pressure (BHP) behavior with different wettabilities and the optimal design scheme to
effectively inject CO2 into the Gorae-V aquifer. As a result, the injection rate and injectivity were increased as the wettability condition became
more water-wet. However, the more wettability condition becomes water-wet, the more the ultimate CO2 injection volume decreases. When the injectivity was 346 ton/day/Mpa at the Gorae-V aquifer, the aquifer can sustain CO2 injection at a rate of 2,425 tons per day over this time period. A design for a complete CCS system was developed based on
the existing off-shore pipeline in combination with new on-shore CO2 transport infrastructure, and a pressure of 12.8 MPa is required at the CO2 source to maintain this injection rate. 相似文献

Summary In this paper we apply the theory of perturbations, previously developed by one of us, to the deduction of the main normal characteristics of the perturbations that are compatible with a given mean field of pressure and temperature. This deduction comprises the determination: 1) of the mean configuration of the perturbations for the different regions under examination; 2) of the normal deepening and filling regions of the perturbations, and particularly their formation and vanishing focuses; 3) of the mean paths, speeds, frequencies and amplitudes of the perturbations. The «dynamical climatology» we are contemplating here is concerned with all these mean properties of the perturbations for a given period.After a first theoretical part, we give some examples of the application of the general results to the dynamical climatology of January and July for North America, North Atlantic and Europe.

In situ eclogitic schist lenses occur in the coherent low-gradeepidote-zone Ward Creek metabasite unit of the Central Franciscanbelt. They contain almandine garnet, clinopyroxene, and rutile.They have slightly higher Mn content (0510wt.%) than the coexisting Type III metabasites (012025wt%) which contain epidote + glaucophane + actinolite + chlorite+ omphacite + quartz + sphene ? aragonite? lawsonite ? pumpellyite+ albite. The in situ eclogitic schists (130140 Ma) canbe distinguished from older tectonic eclogites (150160Ma) in Ward Creek as follows: (1) they are medium grained, whereasType IV tectonic eclogites are coarse grained; (2) they haveunaltered spessartine-rich idioblastic (0410 mm)garnets, whereas Type IV tectonic eclogites have larger xenoblasticto hypidiomorphic spessartine-poor garnets which were corrodedand chloritized along the rim during retrograde metamorphism;(3) clinopyroxenes are chloromelanite in in situ eclogitic schistsbut omphacite in Type IV tectonic eclogites; (4) barroisiticamphiboles occur both as inclusions in garnets and as matrixminerals in Type IV tectonic eclogites but not in in situ eclogiticschists; (5) albite is present in in situ eclogitic schistsbut not in Type IV tectonic eclogites; and (6) the estimatedP-T condition of in situ eclogitic schists is 290 ?C < T<350 ?C, P = 89 kb, whereas that of Ward Creek Type IVtectonic eclogites is 500?C< r<540?C, P< 10115kb. Medium-grained eclogites occur as individual blocks in WardCreek; they are different from Type IV tectonic eclogites butare very similar to in situ eclogitic schists. They have unalteredidioblastic garnet with high almandine and spessartine content(Alm47Sp23Gr20Py10), and they have chloromel-anitic clinopyroxeneand quartz but no barroisite. Paragonite is also stable in theseeclogites. The blocks formed at 380 ?C< r<400?C, and 95kb<P< 14 kb. They are presumably in situ eclogites formedat the highest-temperature part of the Ward Creek metabasiteunit and may be younger than Type IV tectonic eclogites. Such low-temperature occurrences of eclogitic assemblages aredue to the compositional effect on reactions between blueschistand eclogite that are insensitive to pressure and shift towardslower temperatures as bulk-rock MnO content and XFe/(Fe+Mg)increase. The Mn/(Mn + Fe) ratio of bulk rock is an importantfactor in controlling the P-T positions of these reactions attemperatures below 450 ?C, whereas the Fe/(Fe + Mg) ratio ofbulk-rock becomes important at temperatures higher than 450?C. 相似文献
