The way of extraction of insoluble carbonaceous substance (ICS) from black shales and technique of determination of noble metals (NM) in it by direct arc atomic emission analysis (AEA) were developed. The first results are reported on the determination of mineral-bound noble metals in ICS concentrates, which were extracted from the rocks and ores of the Sukhoi Log, Vernyi, Vasil’evskoe, Kuranakh, Daugyztau, Bakyrchik, Kamennoe, El’dorado, and other deposits.  相似文献

In many fields of the Earth Sciences, one is interested in the distribution of particle or void sizes within samples. Like many other geological attributes, size distributions exhibit spatial variability, and it is convenient to view them within a geostatistical framework, as regionalized functions or curves. Since they rarely conform to simple parametric models, size distributions are best characterized using their raw spectrum as determined experimentally in the form of a series of abundance measures corresponding to a series of discrete size classes. However, the number of classes may be large and the class abundances may be highly cross-correlated. In order to model the spatial variations of discretized size distributions using current geostatistical simulation methods, it is necessary to reduce the number of variables considered and to render them uncorrelated among one another. This is achieved using a principal components-based approach known as Min/Max Autocorrelation Factors (MAF). For a two-structure linear model of coregionalization, the approach has the attractive feature of producing orthogonal factors ranked in order of increasing spatial correlation. Factors consisting largely of noise and exhibiting pure nugget–effect correlation structures are isolated in the lower rankings, and these need not be simulated. The factors to be simulated are those capturing most of the spatial correlation in the data, and they are isolated in the highest rankings. Following a review of MAF theory, the approach is applied to the modeling of pore-size distributions in partially welded tuff. Results of the case study confirm the usefulness of the MAF approach for the simulation of large numbers of coregionalized variables.  相似文献

As mineral magnetism is used as a tracer for sourcing river and dam sediments, changes in the magnetic properties that may occur during transport between the source and sink must be considered. Abrasion and breakage of particles will occur during transport. These processes were examined in simulation experiments with a granitic and a sedimentary soil. The effects of these processes on the magnetic properties of a granitic and a sedimentary soil were examined using a simulated breakage/abrasion experiment. Breakage and/or abrasion had substantial effects on the magnetic properties of both soils. All particle sizes were affected, but the magnitude varied through the size range of derived particles. The major effect was on the concentration of magnetic minerals, with differences between the concentrations in particle sizes of the original material and those generated by the experiments being as much as 20 times. The effect on the granite soil was to reduce the concentrations, i.e. derived material was less than original material; whereas for the sedimentary soil the derived particles had higher concentrations. The effect on magnetic grain size, as indicated by the magnetic ratios, was less than the effect on the mass magnetic properties, but still substantial for some ratios for some sizes. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Magnetic measurements over the Campbell Plateau, New Zealand, show the existence of a linear positive anomaly belt which extends for 900 km along an approximately east-west trend. This anomaly belt is considered to be a continuation of the Stokes Magnetic Anomaly occurring through New Zealand and associated with rocks of the New Zealand Geosyncline. If this is so, a transcurrent fault with a dextral displacement of about 330 km and aligned in a northeast-southwest direction must occur between the eastern end of the Stokes Magnetic Anomaly and the western end of the anomaly belt across Campbell Plateau.  相似文献

The nonlinear dynamic analysis of a multipoint slack moored buoy is performed under the action of first and second order wave forces. The nonlinearity of the system is caused by the geometric nonlinearity of the mooring lines. The resulting nonlinear equation of motion is solved by an incremental time marching scheme. The nonlinear responses of the system are analysed to investigate different kinds of dynamic instability phenomena that may arise due to the nonlinearity of the system. As an illustrative example, a hollow cylindrical buoy anchored to the sea bed by means of six slack mooring lines is considered. The responses of the system are obtained and analysed for three regular waves namely, 5 m/5 s, 12 m/10 s and 18 m/15 s. The results of the study show that different kinds of instability phenomena like nT subharmonic oscillations, symmetry breaking bifurcation and aperiodic responses may occur in slack mooring systems. Further, a second order wave force may considerably influence the dynamic stability of such systems.  相似文献

Despite the fact that BaP is a carcinogen, mammalian immunosuppressant, and ubiquitous aquatic pollutant, knowledge regarding the effects of BaP on the immune system of fish is still lacking. To begin to fill this gap, studies were conducted in medaka to examine the effects and mechanisms by which BaP exposure might alter host immunocompetence. Fish, exposed by IP injection of BaP (2-600 microg/g BW), were examined after 48 h for effects upon immune function and CYP1A expression/activity. Benzo[a]pyrene, at a concentration below that which increased levels of CYPIA expression/activity (2 microg BaP/g BW) suppressed lymphocyte proliferation. Concentrations of BaP at 20 and 200 microg/g BW. suppressed antibody-forming cell (AFC) numbers, superoxide production, and host resistance against bacteria. In contrast, exposure to the low affinity aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) agonist, benzo[e]pyrene (BeP), neither induced CYP1A expression nor altered immune function. Given the lack of immunosuppressive effects produced by BeP, and the fact that exposure to the AhR antagonist (and CYP1A inhibitor) alpha-naphthoflavone (ANF) ameliorated the suppressive effects of BaP upon AFC numbers, the AhR pathway (including CYP1A-mediated production of reactive BaP metabolites) appears important in mediating BaP-induced immunotoxicity in fish, as in mammals. In the past, the medaka has proven a successful model for assessing carcinogenic agents. These studies have demonstrated its utility for also determining the immunosuppressive effects of an important aquatic contaminant.  相似文献
