The distributions and seasonal variations of vitamin B12, thiamine and biotin were investigated in waters of the North Pacific Ocean, the East China Sea, and the bays and inlets along the Pacific coast of Japan, by use of microbiological assay methods. A marine diatom Cyclotella nana clone 3H for vitamin B12, and marine yeast Cryptococcus albidus for thiamine, and a marine bacterium Achromobacter sp. strain yH-51 for biotin were used as assay organisms. In the surface water of Sagami Bay, monthly changes in the amounts of the three dissolved vitamins followed closely that of chlorophyll a, being highest in July and lowest during late autumn and winter. The geographical and vertical distributions of thiamine and biotin in the sea generally showed similar patterns to that of chlorophyll a, whereas vitamin B12 did not always follow the trend. Amounts of particulate thiamine and biotin corresponded to about 1 % of that of the dissolved form in the surface water of the North Pacific Ocean. In the coastal waters, however, they were at times found to be 144.0 % and 53.9 % respectively.  相似文献

Fluorescent oligonucleotide probes were used to detectVibrio cholerae directly under epifluorescence microscope. The probe which is complementary to the specific 16SrRNA sequence ofVibrio cholerae was labelled with Texas-Red, whereas the universal probe was labelled with Fluorescein. These probes allowed the distinctionVibrio cholerae from other eubacteria under the same microscopic field. In order to detect and enumerate specific bacteria in natural seawater, this method was combined with the direct viable count (DVC) technique. The combined method increased intracellular rRNA levels in the sample, and made it possible to detect the target bacteria with the specific gene probe. The applicability of this new method was confirmed both for the laboratory mixed culture system and natural seawater.  相似文献

We study the structure of a stationary and axisymmetric charge-deficient region (or a potential gap) in the outer magnetosphere of a spinning neutron star. A large electric field along the magnetic field lines is created in this potential gap and accelerates migratory electrons (e) and/or positrons (e+) to ultrarelativistic energies. Assuming that the gap is immersed in a dense soft photon field, these relativistic e± radiate γ -ray photons via inverse Compton (IC) scattering. These γ -rays, in turn, produce yet more radiating particles by colliding with ambient soft photons, leading to a pair-production cascade in the gap. The replenished charges partially screen the longitudinal electric field, which is self-consistently solved together with the distribution of e± and γ -ray photons. It is demonstrated that the voltage drop in the gap is not more than 1010 V when the background X-ray radiation is as luminous as 1037 erg s−1. However, this value increases with decreasing X-ray luminosity and attains 1012 V when the X-ray radiation is 1036 erg s−1. In addition, we find useful expressions of the spatial distribution of the particle fluxes and longitudinal electric field, together with the relationship between the voltage drop and the current density. Amazingly, these expressions are valid not only when IC scattering dominates but also when curvature radiation dominates.  相似文献

内蒙古苏尼特地下水氟污染形成机理研究   总被引:3,自引:1,他引:3  
为了研究内蒙古苏尼特地区地下水氟污染机理,本文运用水文地球化学分类方法,从水文地质、水化学特征两方面研究其地下水的水质特征、氟的起源、分布规律及污染形成机理。研究结果发现:高氟地下水的主要水质类型为HCO3—Na型,pH值在7.08~9.38之间,氟浓度与井深有关,即井越浅,氟浓度越高;地下水中氟浓度最高达14.78mg/L,5~9月地下水氟浓度相对增长率在7.8~23.1之间;F-浓度与Li+、Br-相关系数达0.89和0.82,受断层影响的深层地下水中F-浓度几乎与Li+、Br-没有相关关系,这暗示着氟来源于浅部,并受到强烈的蒸发作用影响而使水中的氟浓缩;地质调查发现该地区还有数个萤石矿存在,显微镜分析结果证实表层土壤中普遍存在CaF2,地下水中的氟来自CaF2。高氟地下水存在于潜水层,深部含水层的地下水可供开采。从断层带涌出的水对潜水层有稀释作用。  相似文献

The impact of a heavy-oil spill from the Nakhodka on an intertidal animal community, and the recovery process of animals from the damage were surveyed from the autumn of 1997 to the spring of 2001. The field study was carried out in the rocky coast of Imago-Ura Cove, located along the Sea of Japan, where clean-up operations for oil pollution had been conducted less intensely than in other polluted areas. We have examined individual number of each animal taxon by continuously placing a quadrat of 5 m width along the entire intertidal zone of the cove. A total of 76 invertebrate taxa including 57 species of mollusks, 10 species of crustaceans were observed during the survey. The number of taxa increased from 1998 to 1999 in areas where the initial oil pollution was intense. Total individual number of benthic animals continued to increase from 1998 to 2000 in the polluted areas. The impact of oil on benthic animals was different from species to species. Some species such as Cellana toreuma and Monodonta labio confusa increased rapidly after the oil spill, whereas other species such as Patelloida saccharina lanx and Septifer virgatus did not show any apparent temporal tendencies. Population size structure of P. saccharina lanx varied greatly among years, however that of M. labio confusa did not. For P. saccharina lanx, recruitment was unsuccessful in 1997, possibly due to the effect of oil pollution. These differences in responses to oil pollution among benthic animals are considered to be caused by the differences in habitat use, susceptibility to heavy-oil, life history and migration ability. The findings suggest that it took at least 2-3 years for the intertidal animal community to recover to its original level after the oil spill.  相似文献

We compared the genetic diversity of three dominant myctophid fishes in the North Pacific Ocean that have different diel vertical migration patterns on the basis of the nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial gene for cytochrome b. No genetic structure was detected for each of these three species. The genetic diversity progressively increased for Diaphus theta, a diel migrant species showing clear diel vertical migration; Stenobrachius leucopsarus, a semi-diel migrant, in which only part of the population migrates vertically; S. nannochir, a non-diel migrant. All three species were suggested to have experienced a recent, sudden population expansion. Interspecific differences in genetic diversity might be attributable to differences in the degree of population size reduction during the glacial periods; this degree in turn corresponds to the energy demand of the fishes.  相似文献

The three species ofM. cuvieri (Castelnau),M. indicus (Day),M. novaeseelandidae (Steindachner) were excluded from the present key, since they have not been reported since they were originally described.M. lychnobium Bolin formsM. spinosumlychnobium complex and was also excluded.
