In the north of France, high registers of nickel are sometimes recorded within the chalk aquifer. In a confined context, the
presence of pyrite in the covering clays or in the marcasite nodules encrusted in the clay may constitute a natural source
of trace metals. With an objective of sanitary control, the limits of chemical contents regulating the quality of water destined
for human consumption have been lowered by the European Framework Directive in the field of water policy (2000/60/EC). As
a result, nickel limits have been reduced from 50 to 20 μg/l. The analyses, carried out on three water catchment fields in
our area of study, were centred on variable parameters (Eh, O2(d), pH, Conductivity, T°), major elements (SO4, NO3) and metals (Fe, Ni, Mn, Co). The acquired data enabled us to identify from one hand, the conditions which are presented
within the site, special thanks to the evolution of nitrate and iron contents and on the other hand, the natural origin (geological)
of nickel for two of the three sites studied based essentially on the evaluation of the Nickel/Cobalt ratio. Thus, on the
first site, the evolution of nickel content and nitrate content showed the influence of the phenomenon of denitrification
on the re-mobilisation of the nickel. Whereas on the second site, a high variation of total iron content and oxygen dissolved
in solution highlighted a particular phenomenon of oxidation of the pyrite through molecular oxygen. Finally, the correlation
with the sulphates clearly showed behaviour of the nickel, once released, that was entirely dependent on the phenomenon of

Earthquake hazard maps for Syria are presented in this paper. The Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) and the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) on bedrock, both with 90% probability of not being exceeded during a life time of 50, 100 and 200 years, respectively are developed. The probabilistic PGA and MMI values are evaluated assuming linear sources (faults) as potential sources of future earthquakes. A new attenuation relationship for this region is developed. The study deals with the effect of metal toxicity (aluminum, chromium and combination of both the metals) on seed germination, root length, shoot length, seedling length and dry biomass of Vigna radiata and V. sinensis. Chromium adversely affected the seedling by significantly reducing the growth whereas aluminum did not show such effect in both the species. Percentage of germination was good in both the species at different concentration of treatment (aluminum, chromium and combined treatment). Shoot length was also not much affected in V. sinensis as it was greatly inhibited in V. radiata. Both the species showed the purpling of stem. Dry biomass of V. radiata showed positive effect than V. sinensis. The Rharb basin is located in northwestern Morocco. It is a part of one of the most important hydrogeological basins of Morocco, and extends over some 4000 km2. The nature of its Plio-Quaternary sedimentary fill and its structural and palaeoenvironmental contexts are reflected by great variations in aerial and temporal facies distribution. This distribution, in turn, is a direct cause of the observed complexity in the geometry of potentially water-bearing beds. The northern edge of the Central Rif (Morocco) is subject to numerous landslides where mechanisms do not correspond to the classical models used by geomechanics specialists. It is necessary to adopt a multidisciplinary approach that combines geomorphology, geology, hydrogeology, and geotechnics in order to understand how such slope failures are generated, especially in a region with a heterogeneous structure characterised by significant lithological differences, severe fracturing, and thrust sheets where tectonic contacts play a major role in groundwater circulation. This report shows that these failures are essentially controlled by the tectonic contact separating the Tisirene and Chouamat thrust sheets and by subsurface hydrodynamic conditions. The Claus process has been used for the conversion of H2S and SO2 to elemental sulfur. These two sulfur compounds need special attention because they are very poisonous with negative impact on both the environment and human health. Here, highly active Fe–Ni/TiO2 catalyst has been prepared and shaped by three different binders (bentonite, polyethylene glycol and carboxymethyl cellulose) into extrudes. Comparing the mechanical strength and surface area of prepared extrudes, the optimal shaped catalyst was selected with 20% of bentonite, 2% of PEG and 2% of CMC. The optimal catalyst was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, temperature-programmed reduction, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area, Barrett–Joyner–Halenda, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray techniques and used for sulfur recovery process. The performance of this product for sulfur recovery via Claus process was excellent with the conversion of hydrogen sulfide of 76.77% and sulfur dioxide of 97.83%. The catalyst also provides high hydrolysis activity of CS2 (83.06%). Therefore, a highly active TiO2-supported shaped catalyst with 85.62% of conversion efficiency has been prepared successfully to convert the small amounts of H2S, SO2 and CS2 to elemental sulfur. 相似文献

In this research, ordered mesoporous silica, including MCM-41, was synthesized via sol–gel process and a propyl methacrylate-modified ordered mesoporous silica (MPS-MCM-41) was successfully synthesized via a postsynthesis grafting process. Then both MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41 were characterized using FTIR, XRD, SEM and BET techniques. The synthesized materials were utilized as adsorbent for removal of diazinon pesticide from aqueous solutions. The effects of pH, contact time, adsorbent dose, initial concentration and temperature have been evaluated using removal efficiencies. Also, the kinetic, thermodynamic and isotherm models of diazinon adsorption were studied for the both MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41. The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacities are 142 and 254 mg g?1 for the MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41, respectively, at the initial concentration of 50 mg L?1, temperature of 298 K and adsorbent dose of 0.1 g L?1. The highest percentages of diazinon removal are 56.4 and 87.2 (at adsorbent dose of 2 g L?1 and the temperature of 318 K) for the MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41, respectively. The Freundlich and Langmuir models are more compatible for describing equilibrium data of the diazinon adsorption capacity on the MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41, respectively. Thermodynamic study indicated that the adsorption process of diazinon onto MCM-41 and MPS-MCM-41 is exothermic and has a spontaneous nature. The higher adsorption capacity and higher spontaneous nature of MPS-MCM-41 in comparison with MCM-41 might be due to the presence of the both hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction between surface functional groups of MPS-MCM-41 (hydroxyl and propyl methacrylate) and diazinon functional groups. 相似文献
