Curved or planar discordant surfaces occurring within a limited stratigraphic range immediately beneath shallow marine deposits represent penecontemporaneous shear surfaces along which slumps have moved. Rotated packets of strata frequently retained within the curved discordant surfaces show both internal and external evidence of having moved laterally. Movement is considered to have been triggered off by a sudden shock or shocks which may have been either of sedimentary or tectonic origin. The slumping occurred at the change in gradient between slope and shallow marine shelf deposits.  相似文献

Range and range rate measurements play an important role in geodetic applications of electromagnetic waves (terrestrial as well as from space, including Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI)) Recent developments of measuring, techniques have led to the situation that the measuring accuracy is no longer the limiting factor in the final accuracies of range and range rate measurements. The main error stems now from the influence of the atmosphere and from assumptions and approximations in context with the derivation of refractive index used to describe the wave propagation properties of the atmosphere. Only in the case that the geometrical optics approximation holds is it possible to calculate or to measure range error for wave propagation in the atmosphere of the earth (troposphereand ionosphere) from knowledge of the refractive index as a function of space (location) and time. Otherwise we have to consides additionally scattering and/or diffraction effects. A discussion of the formulae for the refractive indices in the troposphere and in the ionosphere is followed by a review of the propagation of electromagnetic waves described by the geometrical optics approximation and on the limitations, of geometrical optics. A comprehensive discussion of range errors in the non-ionized atmosphere (troposphere) and in the ionosphere follows. For this purpose we use the elevation of the “ray” at a ground station for division into four domains: a) vertical incidence (as a special case), b) elevation between 90° and 30°, c)elevation between 30° and 5°, d) elevation smaller than 5°.  相似文献

We measured monthly soil surface elevation change and determined its relationship to groundwater changes at a mangrove forest site along Shark River, Everglades National Park, Florida. We combined the use of an original design, surface elevation table with new rod-surface elevation tables to separately track changes in the mid zone (0–4 m), the shallow root zone (0–0.35 m), and the full sediment profile (0–6 m) in response to site hydrology (daily river stage and daily groundwater piezometric pressure). We calculated expansion and contraction for each of the four constituent soil zones (surface [accretion and erosion; above 0 m], shallow zone [0–0.35 m], middle zone [0.35–4 m], and bottom zone [4–6]) that comprise the entire soil column. Changes in groundwater pressure correlated strongly, with changes in soil elevation for the entire profile (Adjusted R2 = 0.90); this relationship was not proportional to the depth of the soil profile sampled. The change in thickness of the bottom soil zone accounted for the majority (R2 = 0.63) of the entire soil profile expansion and contraction. The influence of hydrology on specific soil zones and absolute elevation change must be considered when evaluating the effect of disturbances, sea level rise, and water management decisions on coastal wetland systems.  相似文献

Groundwater in front of warm‐based glaciers is likely to become a more integrated part of the future proglacial hydrological system at high latitudes due to global warming. Here, we present the first monitoring results of shallow groundwater chemistry and geochemical fingerprinting of glacier meltwater in front of a warm‐based glacier in Southeast Greenland (Mittivakkat Gletscher, 65° 41′ N, 37° 48′ W). The groundwater temperature, electrical conductivity and pressure head were monitored from August 2009 to August 2011, and water samples were collected in 2009 and analyzed for major ions and water isotopes (δD, δ18O). The 2 yrs of monitoring revealed that major outbursts of glacier water during the ablation season flushed the proglacial aquifer and determined the groundwater quality for the next 2–8 weeks until stable chemical conditions were reached again. Water isotope composition shows that isotopic fractionation occurs in both groundwater and glacier meltwater, but fractionation due to evaporation from near‐surface soil moisture prior to infiltration has the most significant effect. This study shows that groundwater in Low Arctic Greenland is likely to possess a combined geochemical and isotopic composition, which is distinguishable from other water sources in the proglacial environment. However, the shallow groundwater composition at a given time is highly dependent on major outbursts of glacier water in the previous months.  相似文献

对东准噶尔锡矿北花岗斑岩进行锆石LA-ICP-MS U-Pb测年,获得206Pb/238U加权平均年龄为(281±10)Ma,MSWD=9.3,206Pb/238U-207Pb/235U谐和曲线图中下交点年龄为(278±11)Ma,MSWD=7.5,两者在误差范围内完全一致,时代属于早二叠世。结果表明,锡矿北花岗斑岩形成的时代属于东准噶尔后碰撞深成岩浆活动的范围(330~265Ma),晚于东准噶尔乌伦古河碱性花岗岩和卡拉麦里碱性花岗岩的形成时代(300Ma左右),以花岗斑岩为代表的晚古生代岩浆侵入活动延续到早二叠世晚期。  相似文献

The U-Th-Pb isotope systematics of the eucrite “Juvinas” have been studied in whole rock fragments as well as in plagioclases and pyroxenes. The results show that this monomict breccia crystallized with a very high UPb initial ratio at T = 4.539 ± 0.004 AE ago. There is evidence for a less radiogenic Pb component (206Pb204Pb = 13.0; 207Pb204Pb = 13.5; 208Pb204Pb = 32.71) interpreted as “exotic lead” induced by a meteoritical impact at the surface of the Juvinas parent body, 1.92 ± 0.06 AE ago.  相似文献

Changes in global radiation measured with thermoelectric pyranometers at stations of the World Radiation Network in 1958, 1965, 1975 and 1985 were found to be large and statistically significant in many cases. Comparison of the data from the 46 unmoved stations and from the spline-fitted latitudinal distributions of the more than one hundred measurements available for each year yielded the same mean reduction. This was 5.3% (9 W m-2) for the difference in annual irradiation between 1958 and 1985 weighted for the land surfaces of the Earth. Causes of the substantial spatial and temporal variations found in the magnitude, significance and even sign of the changes could not be clearly identified because of the uneven distribution of the station network, the small number of years examined and the unknown accuracy of the measurements. A simple system was designed using7LiOH-impregnated filters to collect acidic gases from ambient air and from highly concentrated volcanic plumes or gas streams. These filters were developed for analysis using instrumental neutron activation analysis, but other analytical techniques could be used as well. The sampling system was designed to use a series of 1–3 M7LiOH-impregnated filters to collect high concentrations of acidic gases found in gas plumes of active volcanoes. The filters are quantitative for SO2 and the halide acids when sufficient base is present to neutralize the acidic species. Extremely high concentrations of SO2 may not be collected quantitatively since SO2 is a relatively weak Lewis acid compared to the halide acids. The acidic oxides of Sb, As, and Se were also collected quantitatively. A particle filter preceded the impregnated filters in order to remove particles from the fumes. This system has proven effective under difficult sampling conditions and, since it is portable and light weight, it could be used for many volcanological applications where high levels of acidic gaseous phase species need to be collected.  相似文献

In this paper, we search the existence of Bianchi type I cosmological model in f(R,T) gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian is given by an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar R and of the trace of the stress-energy tensor T. We obtain the gravitational field equations in the metric formalism, and reconstruct the corresponding f(R,T) functions. Attention is attached to the special case, f(R,T)=f 1(R)+f 2(T) and two examples are assumed for this model. In the first example, we consider the unification of matter dominated and accelerated phases with f(R) gravity in anisotropic universe, and in the second instance, model of f(R,T) gravity with transition of matter dominated phase to the acceleration phase is obtained. In both cases, f(R,T) is proportional to a power of R with exponents depending on the input parameters.  相似文献
