The Andong pluton consists of comagmatic granitoid rocks which constitute outstanding examples of reversely zoned granitoids. The pluton has three lithofacies: hornblende biotite tonalite, biotite granodiorite and porphyritic biotite granite. The zoned pattern forms by locating a tonalite core containing high-temperature mafic assemblages in central part,granodiorite rims in marginal part, and a porphyritic granite cap containing more felsic assemblages in topside of the pluton.Mineral abundances as well as bulk compositions of the granitoids indicate that the interior is enriched in mafic minerals and that it shows higher contents of oxides than the margin and topside. The compositional gradients change gradually with continuity between the lithofacies. The regular compositional variations within the pluton support the argument that the pluton behaved as an individual petrochemical system. Model abundances of the granitoids are in agreement with the bulk compositional gradients, suggesting that no significant interaction with country rocks occurred. Remobilization (resurgence) of deeper parts of the system into the more felsic magmas of the chamber explains the reverse zoning. Fractional crystallization was of importance and probably accounts for the selective removal of the settling phases. The Andong pluton is an example of reversely zoned plutons related by remobilization of more mafic but consanguineous magmas. Large-scale upwelling occurred in the pluton leading to the present arrangement of three lithofacies. It is conceivable that remnants of the reverse zoning become more difficult to discern as the plutonic rocks reach the latest stages of their evolution. In this case, the Andong pluton represents an earlier stage in the evolution of a felsic system that is usually represented by the final stages in normally zoned plutons.  相似文献

Atmospheric General Circulation models (AGCMs) forced by prescribed sea surface temperature (SST) climatological seasonal cycle simulate interannual variabilities that have cyclic characteristics. Such cyclic characteristics generate relationships between one year and the next in the model output. We document these relationships by computing lag-1-year autocorrelation in hundreds of years of CAM3 and ECHAM5 simulations. The autocorrelation is found to be generally less than 0.2, but contain robust structures. In case of zonal averaged zonal wind and air temperature the winter hemisphere is characterized by negative autocorrelation and the summer hemisphere characterized by positive autocorrelation. The presence of autocorrelation means that an average over a 10~25 year AGCM simulation in an effort to reduce the influence of interannual variability on externally-driven climate change might not be very effective. In view of this, we investigate if ensemble runs instead of a continuous simulation is more effective in reducing such influences. The reduction gain by using N 1-year long ensemble runs over N years of continuous run is generally less than 30% and mainly limited to the areas where the autocorrelation is positive. We thus conclude that each year in a continuous simulation can generally be treated as largely independent of the next year in an AGCM run with fixed SST forcing.  相似文献

Assessing spatial autocorrelation (SA) of statistical estimates such as means is a common practice in spatial analysis and statistics. Popular SA statistics implicitly assume that the reliability of the estimates is irrelevant. Users of these SA statistics also ignore the reliability of the estimates. Using empirical and simulated data, we demonstrate that current SA statistics tend to overestimate SA when errors of the estimates are not considered. We argue that when assessing SA of estimates with error, one is essentially comparing distributions in terms of their means and standard errors. Using the concept of the Bhattacharyya coefficient, we proposed the spatial Bhattacharyya coefficient (SBC) and suggested that it should be used to evaluate the SA of estimates together with their errors. A permutation test is proposed to evaluate its significance. We concluded that the SBC more accurately and robustly reflects the magnitude of SA than traditional SA measures by incorporating errors of estimates in the evaluation. Using galaxy samples drawn from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and the DEEP2 Galaxy Redshift Survey, we study the relationship between star formation and environment at   z ∼ 0.1  and 1. We estimate the total star formation rate (SFR) and specific star formation rate (sSFR) for each galaxy according to the measured [O  ii ]λ 3727 Å nebular line luminosity, corrected using empirical calibrations to match more robust SFR indicators. Echoing previous results, we find that in the local Universe star formation depends on environment such that galaxies in regions of higher overdensity, on average, have lower SFRs and longer star formation time-scales than their counterparts in lower density regions. At   z ∼ 1  , we show that the relationship between sSFR and environment mirrors that found locally. However, we discover that the relationship between total SFR and overdensity at   z ∼ 1  is inverted relative to the local relation. This observed evolution in the SFR–density relation is driven, in part, by a population of bright, blue galaxies in dense environments at   z ∼ 1  . This population, which lacks a counterpart at   z ∼ 0  , is thought to evolve into members of the red sequence from   z ∼ 1  to ∼0. Finally, we conclude that environment does not play a dominant role in the cosmic star formation history at   z < 1  : the dependence of the mean galaxy SFR on local galaxy density at constant redshift is small compared to the decline in the global SFR space density over the last 7 Gyr.  相似文献

The urbanization of Daegu metropolitan region has progressed rapidly over the last 100 years, but changing land-use resulting from that urbanization has also caused the regional circulations to evolve. The effect of 100 years of urbanization on the regional circulations was simulated for the analysis using an A2C (Atmosphere to Computational Fluid Dynamics) model. Calm synoptic conditions and a stable lapse rate were assumed for the initial model atmosphere, with a horizontal grid resolution of 1 km. The simulation demonstrated that land-use changes have affected the Daegu metropolitan area’s regional circulations by deepening the convective boundary layer (CBL) over the urbanized area, resulting in deviations from mean surface temperature and surface wind fields. The last 100 years have seen the following changes in the region: 1) the urbanized area has increased by around 15 times, while the number of forests and paddy fields has rapidly decreased; 2) surface wind speeds have decreased by about 25% and 35% during the day and at night, respectively, and severe changes in wind direction have been noted over the urbanized areas; 3) regional warming has been around 1.5°C and 4°C in the daytime and early morning hours, respectively (in particular, warming in the early morning hours suggests the presence of overnight heat islands), and 4) sensible heat flux and CBL height have increased by about 40 W m?2 and 500 m for the period, respectively.  相似文献

In this study, the chemical and physical losses of nitrogen oxides (NOx) over the Korean peninsula were discussed in order to better understand the effects of the NOx losses on the tropospheric NO2 columns. Initially, it was found that the physical loss processes due to dry and wet depositions had almost negligible impacts on the NOx loss processes over the Korean peninsula. In contrast, the hourly NOx chemical column losses were large at ??1014 molecules cm?2 h?1. The amounts of NOx removed for 1 hour account for approximately 33?C35% of the episode-averaged tropospheric NO2 columns during summer over the Korean peninsula. The NOx chemical column loss rates were 24.1?C70.9 times larger than the NOx physical column loss rates. In a budget analysis of the NOx chemical column losses, HNO3 formation via the reaction of OH + NO2 had the largest contribution toward the NOx chemical losses (42?C55% during fall and winter seasons; 76?C77% during spring; 92?C93% during summer). Large amounts of NOx were also removed by heterogeneous nitrate formation via N2O5 condensation during the cold seasons (42?C56%) over the Korean peninsula. The columnar NOx chemical losses took place mainly due to the two chemico-physical reaction processes, and also showed seasonal variations. PAN (Peroxyacetyl Nitrate) is another NO2 reservoir of potential importance. If the influence of the PAN-related chemistry on the NOx budget is considered, it can result in an approximate 69% increase in the NOx chemical column loss during summer. Such increases in the amounts of NOx removed for 1 hour due to the formation of PAN were equivalent to 56?C58% of the episode-averaged tropospheric NO2 columns during summer over the Korean peninsula. Such active NOx chemical losses during summer are another main factor for the tropospheric NO2 columns exhibiting their smallest values during summer.  相似文献

Gold mineralization of the Seolhwa mine occurs in a single stage of massive quartz veins which filled the north‐east‐trending fault shear zones in the Jurassic granitoid of 161 Ma within the Gyeonggi Massif. The vein quartz contains three main types of fluid inclusions at 25°C: (i) aqueous type I inclusions (0–15 wt.% NaCl) containing small amounts of CO2; (ii) gas‐rich (more than 70 vol. %), vapor‐homogenizing, aqueous type II inclusions; and (iii) low‐salinity (less than 5 wt.% NaCl), liquid CO2‐bearing, type III inclusions. The H2O‐CO2‐CH4‐N2‐NaCl inclusions represent immiscible fluids trapped earlier along the solvus curve in the temperature range 250–430°C at pressures of ~1 kb. Detailed fluid inclusion chronologies suggest a progressive decrease in pressure during the mineralization. Aqueous inclusion fluids represent either later fluids evolved through extensive fluid unmixing from a homogeneous H2O‐CO2‐CH4‐N2‐NaCl fluid due to decreases in temperature and pressure, or the influence of deep circulated meteoric waters. Initial fluids were homogeneous H2O‐CO2‐CH4‐N2‐NaCl fluids as follows: 250° to 430°C, 16–62 mol% CO2, 5–14 mol% CH4, 0.06–0.31 mol% N2 and salinities of 0.4–4.9 wt.% NaCl. The T‐X data for the Seolhwa mine suggest that the hydrothermal system has been probably located nearer to the granitic melt, which facilitated the CH4 formation and resulted in a reduced fluid state indicated by the predominance of pyrrhotite. Measured and calculated isotopic compositions of the hydrothermal fluids [δ18O = 5.3–6.5‰; δD =?69 to ?84‰] provide evidence of the CH4‐H2O equilibria and further indicate that the auriferous fluids were magmatically derived. Both the dominance of δ34S values of sulfides close to the meteoric reference (?0.6–1.4‰; δ34SΣS values of 0.3–1.1‰) and the available δ13C data (?4‰) are consistent with their deep igneous source. The Seolhwa mine was probably formed by extensive fracturing and veining due to the thermal expansion of water derived from the Jurassic granitoid melt.  相似文献

Introduced species are a growing and imminent threat to living marine resources in parts of the world’s oceans. The present study is a rapid assessment survey of invasive macrobenthic invertebrate species in Korean ports. We surveyed over 40 ports around Korea during the period of May 2010~March 2013. Among the sampling sites were concrete walls, docks and associated floats, bumpers, tires, and ropes which might harbor non-native species. We found 15 invasive species as follows: one Sponge, two Bryozoans, three Mollusks, one Polychaete, four Cirripedes, and four Ascidians. Three morphologically similar species, namely X. atrata, M. galloprovincialis, and X. securis were further examined for distinctions in their morphology. Although they could be reasonably distinguished based on shell shapes, significant overlap was noted so that additional analysis may be required to correctly distinguish them. Although many of the introduced species have already spread to all three coastal areas, newly arrived invasive species showed a relatively restricted range, with a serpulid polychaete Ficopomatus enigmaticus and a mytilid bivalve Xenostrobus securis found only at a few sites on the East Coast. An exception is for Balanus perforatus, which has rapidly colonized the East coast of Korea following its introduction into the region. Successful management of invasive macrobenthic invertebrates should be established in order to contain the spread of these newly arrived species.  相似文献
