The flare index of the current solar cycle 22 is analysed to detect intermediate-term periodicities from Sep. 1, 1986 to Dec. 31, 1991. Power spectral analysis of the time series of solar flare index data reveals a periodicity around 73 and 53 days. We find that a periodicity of 73 days was in operation from 1988 November to the end of 1991 December. We also find that when the 73-day periodicity or the 154-day periodicity is in operation, the flare index is well correlated with the relative sunspot numbers. As a conclusion, we do not expect to see a resumption of the 154-day or 73-day periodicity, but we do expect only one of the periodicity near the integral multiples of 25d.8 in the next solar cycles. 相似文献

A multidisciplinary study, conducted over the carbonate platform deposits of the Liassic Calcari Grigi Group (Southern Alps), highlighted how the use of outcrop analogues can contribute to better define the distribution of dolomitic bodies related to fault networks, to characterize the petrophysical properties of the dolomitic sequence and unravel a complex diagenetic history. This study was carried out in the Asiago Plateau (southernmost part of the eastern Southern Alps, northern Italy) which provides excellent outcrops of the Jurassic Calcari Grigi Group. The dolomitization of the Jurassic sequence is variable in terms of stratigraphic extension and geographic distribution. In the studied localities the dolomitization is generally limited to the Mount Zugna Formation and is characterized by an undulatory front, with ‘sub‐vertical dolomitic chimneys’ along the major faults. Within this unit, and often associated with faults, stacked high‐porosity and permeability bed‐parallel dolomitic bodies are developed that show excellent petrophysical properties. The dolomitic intervals are characterized by pervasive unimodal and patchy polymodal dolomite crystals. Thin section, cathodoluminescence, isotopic and fluid inclusion analyses were used to constrain the paragenetic evolution of the sequence which is similar in all the studied localities. The first dolomitization stage is marked by zoned dolomite crystals with a dull luminescent core. The porosity is thought to have increased after this stage, with dark blue luminescent dolomite accompanied by the corrosion of older crystals. The appearance of saddle dolomite marks the onset of the porosity reduction stage, ending with the infilling of vugs and the remaining open pores with calcite cement. The diagenetic evolution locally stopped at the saddle dolomite stage with the complete occlusion of the remaining pores. Paragenetic and fluid‐inclusion data suggest an evolutionary trend of increasing temperatures and decreasing salinity toward brackish fluids responsible for dolomite and calcite precipitation. The integration of the available data seem to indicate that the diagenetic evolution of the study area is related to: (i) the interplay between evolving fluids (from marine to brackish); (ii) the burial of the sequence (increasing temperature); and (iii) the evolution of the hydrogeological system (fault and fracture network, fluid mixing). This complex paragenetic evolution is strongly linked to the evolution of the porosity framework that evolved from a good, widespread network in the early stages of the burial history to a confined system in the later stages due to reduction of porosity by the deposition of late calcite and dolomite cements. 相似文献

This study models maximum temperatures in Switzerland monitored in twelve locations using the generalised extreme value (GEV)
distribution. The parameters of the GEV distribution are determined within a Bayesian framework. We find that the parameters
of the underlying distribution underwent a substantial change in the beginning of the 1980s. This change is characterised
by an increase both in the level and the variability. We assess the likelihood of the heat wave of the summer 2003 using the
fitted GEV distribution by accounting for the presence of a structural break. The estimation results do suggest that the heat
wave of 2003 is not that statistically improbable if an appropriate methodology is used for dealing with nonstationarity. 相似文献

The periodicity of climatic processes along the Russian Arctic Ocean coast has been studied by analyzing the tree-ring chronologies
for the regions close to the northern timberline. The wavelet analysis of annual series of conifer tree rings for the period
1458–1975 has revealed climatic oscillations with periods of 20–25 years. The amplitudes and periods of climatic oscillations
in the region of Russian Arctic Ocean proved to exhibit appreciable changes. Especially strong climatic variations in comparison
with the recent ones were found to occur during the Maunder minimum epoch when the period of oscillations increased from 22–23
years to 24–29 years, and oscillations with periods of 15 years appeared. After the Maunder minimum, the periods of oscillations
and their amplitudes again decreased, and the 15–16-year maximum disappeared. Analysis of solar activity based on of radiocarbon
(14C) concentration in annual tree rings has revealed a similar pattern in changes of periodicity before, during, and after the
Maunder minimum. This suggests that quasi-bidecadal climatic oscillations and variations in solar activity can be connected
with each other. A possible solar forcing of periodic climatic processes and its nonlinear influence on the atmosphere-ocean-continental
system are discussed. The intense quasi-bidecadal climatic oscillations can be, in all probability, interpreted as resulting
from amplification of a weak solar signal in the atmosphere-ocean system that has its own noises whose frequencies are close

Modelling palaeoglaciers in mountainous terrain is challenging due to the need for detailed ice flow computations in relatively narrow and steep valleys, high-resolution climate estimations, knowledge of pre-ice topography, and proxy-based palaeoclimate forcing. The Parallel Ice Sheet Model (PISM), a numerical model that approximates glacier sliding and deformation to simulate large ice sheets such as Greenland and Antarctica, was recently adapted to alpine environments. In an attempt to reconstruct the climate conditions during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) on Mount Dedegöl in SW Turkey, we used PISM and explored palaeoglacier dynamics at high spatial resolution (100 m) in a relatively small domain (225 km2). Palaeoice-flow fields were modelled as a function of present temperature and precipitation. Nine different palaeoclimate simulations were run to reach the steady-state glacier extents and the modelled glacial areas were compared with the field-based and chronologically well-established ice extents. Although our results provide a non-unique solution, best-fit scenarios indicate that the LGM climate on Mount Dedegöl was between 9.2 and 10.6 °C colder than today, while precipitation levels were the same as today. More humid (20% wetter) or arid (20% drier) conditions than today bring the palaeotemperature estimates to 7.7–8.8 or 11.5–13.2 °C lower than present, respectively. 相似文献

Summary In this study has been interpreted the Love- and Rayleigh-waves of Agadir earthquake on February 29, 1960 recorded at Lwiro and Skopje earthquake on July 26, 1963 recorded at Pretoria and Windhoek by long period Columbia type seismographs, and determined the crustal structure in Africa with dispersion of both Love- and Rayleigh-waves along the paths on two different directions. The obtained results are compared each other and with those founded recently by several investigators for Africa and Europe. Herewith has been showed that the average thickness of the crust in Africa is thinner than in Europe and the thickness in direction from Skopje to Pretoria is more than that from Agadir to Lwiro.
Zusammenfassung In diesem Artikel wurden die Love- und Rayleigh-Wellen vom Erdbeben in Agadir vom 29. Februar 1960, aufgezeichnet in Lwiro, und vom Erdbeben in Skopje vom 26. Juli 1963, aufgezeichnet in Pretoria und Windhoek von langperiodischen Columbia-Seismographen, untersucht und somit mit Dispersion von beiden Love- und Rayleigh-Wellen der Aufbau der Erdkruste in Afrika bestimmt. Die erhaltenen Resultate wurden miteinander und mit anderen Werten, die bis heute von verschiedenen Autoren für Afrika und Europa bestimmt wurden, verglichen. Somit wurde vorgelegt, dass die Erdkruste in Afrika im allgemeinen dünner ist als in Europa und dass die Schicht in der Richtung von Skopje zu Pretoria dicker ist als in der Richtung von Agadir zu Lwiro.相似文献
