A coronal index of solar activity (CI), based upon the total irradiance of the coronal 530.3 nm green line, has been constructed for the period 1939–1963 from observations at five stations worldwide. The monthly average CI exhibits a cyclic pattern with time, with succesive peaks monotonically increasing since solar cycle 18. Potential uses of the CI are discussed. 相似文献

For complete information about the apparent distribution ofHii-regions along the whole galactic equator a Catalogue of 698 known emission nebulae is given on the basis of 13 lists and catalogues of these objects. The main catalogue used for the northern sky was that of Sharpless (1959) including 313 objects while the coverage of the southern sky can be characterized by a greater number of smaller catalogues represented in the first place by that of Rodgerset al. (1960) and that of Gum (1955). ForHii-regions, only optical data were taken into account.Where several authors describe the complex of nebulosities a more detailed specification of objects is preferred. The objects in the Catalogue are listed according to their right ascensions for 1950. As only three catalogues applied here give also the objects out of the belt ±15° around the galactic equator, the Catalogue is divided into two parts. The first (main) part contains 667 objects lying within this belt, the second contains 31 objects lying outside it. A Summary Table listing the objects from the two parts according to their galactic longitudes involving, in addition, the 50-yrs precession for every object is also added.An attempt was made not to repeat contingent errors present in the source-catalogues. The maps of the POSS were often used. Coincidences with SNR and planetaries were sought for independently of identifications given in the source-catalogues. In this paper results of determinations of the rotation axis direction (as given by ecliptic coordinates of its intersection with geocentric celestial sphere) for 14 asteroids are presented for which a sufficient number of good observations are available. The calculation is performed by using the improved amplitude-magnitude method developed by V. Zappalà, M. Di Martino, P. Farinella, and P. Paolicchi (1983, In Asteroids, Comets, Meteors, pp. 73–76). Additionally, an improvement of the method is described regarding a weighting procedure. Whenever possible, the results are compared with already existing data, coming from other methods (mainly from photometric astrometry). In general, very good agreement was found, which can be considered as strongly encouraging for further application of the adopted procedure. The orbital gravitational potential energies of the planets and of the satellites have been estimated and compared to the gravitational potential energies of the bodies themselves and to the gravitational potential energy of the Sun. From the point of view of the gravitational potential energy distribution two quite different groups of the planets can be distinguished clearly. Five satellites of Neptune orbit under the synchronous zone. In this sense the Neptune's system is similar to that of Uranus (nine satellites) and differs from Jupiter (two) and Saturn (zero). The basic parameters describing the angular momentum within the Neptune's system and of its tidal evolution are estimated. The main character of the tidal dynamics is due to the retrograde Triton.
