A large street network is likely to contain duplicated or similar sounding street names. These conflicts can cause confusion in communication between people or in machine‐human interaction. Municipal authorities have begun to see the importance of uncovering these existing street name conflicts and mitigating future ones, for improved record keeping, emergency response, etc. However the commonly used Soundex phonetic algorithm is generally considered to produce poor similarity results in terms of uncovering street name conflicts. This study reports on a new fusion algorithm that combines phonetic methods and approximate string matching for street names, weighted by street type suffix (Avenue, Boulevard, Court, etc.), to quantitatively measure the collision/confusion potential presented by a pair of streets. This algorithm is then applied to the entire street network in Greater Melbourne, Australia, and the pattern of collisions at various spatial scales, and within municipalities, is mapped. The goal of this work is to produce better tools that can aid policy makers, administrators and industries dealing with location‐based services to make better decisions when assigning and disambiguating street names. 相似文献

Directional infrared emission from the sunlit lunar surface is determined for the thermal meridian and as a function of observer elevation and azimuth angles at three Sun elevation angles. A study of selected mare sites at full Moon suggests that brightness temperatures are relatively insensitive to changes in certain surface parameters, such as the photometric function, emissivity, and thermophysical properties of the soil. The dynamics of the circular restricted three-body Earth-Moon-particle problem predicts the existence of the retrograde periodic
orbits around the Lagrangian equilibrium point L1. Such orbits belong to the so-called family G (Broucke, Periodic orbits
in the restricted three-body problem with Earth-Moon masses, JPL Technical Report 32–1168, 1968) and starting from them it
is possible to define a set of trajectories that form round trip links between the Earth and the Moon. These links occur even
with more complex dynamical systems as the complete Sun-Earth-Moon-particle problem. One of the most remarkable properties
of these trajectories, observed for the four-body problem, is a meaningful inclination gain when they penetrate into the lunar
sphere of influence and accomplish a swing-by with the Moon. This way, when one of these trajectories returns to the proximities
of the Earth, it will be in a different orbital plane from its initial Earth orbit. In this work, we present studies that
show the possibility of using this property mainly to accomplish transfer maneuvers between two Earth orbits with different
altitudes and inclinations, with low cost, taking into account the dynamics of the four-body problem and of the swing-by as
well. The results show that it is possible to design a set of nominal transfer trajectories that require ΔV

The fossil echinoderms of the Lower Carboniferous (Mississippian) of Derbyshire remain understudied, principally due to the nature of the preservation rather than any lack of biodiversity. Echinoids and crinoids are described in float blocks of limestone from near Hurdlow, Derbyshire, which have been etched naturally after many years of being washed by weakly acidic rain. Surface detail is variable, commonly poor, but rare specimens retain enough features for tentative identification. Two species of echinoids are identified from rare disarticulated plates, namely Melonechinus? sp. (ambulacral plates) and archaeocidarid sp. (interambulacral plate); more and superior material will be necessary to confirm this division. Crinoids include a cladid brachial ossicle sp. with a distinctive sculpture; a columnal of a monobathrid camerate platycrinitid sp.; Annulocolumnus (col.) sp. cf. A. annulus Donovan, a columnal morphotaxon with an unusually broad axial canal; and Cyclocyclicus (col.) spp. This is the tenth echinoid site to be recognized from the Mississippian of the White Peak. Examination of etched float blocks provides a further method of investigation of the echinoderm fauna of this and other limestone areas. 相似文献

Probabilistic time geography considers the encounter of moving agents to be random; therefore, a quantitative time geography analysis must consider the actual encounter probability. The existing algorithm of encounter probability is oriented over a discrete space and is sensitive to the unit definition of a virtual grid; thus, it is not suitable for continuous space. For this reason, a new method is presented in this paper for the encounter of two moving agents in continuous space. When the encounters are less than a specified distance threshold apart, an encounter event occurs based on the probability of the product, which is calculated by their respective probability density functions over their respective potential location areas. This probability provides a quantitative basis for predicting the likelihood of two agents meeting, as well as the location of this meeting point. Finally, the validity of the proposed model is verified by an experiment, which uses tracking data to calculate the encounter probabilities of three zebras and analyse the distribution characteristics of these probabilities over time and space. 相似文献

Surface-water bodies are integral parts of groundwater flow systems. Groundwater interacts with surface water in nearly all
landscapes, ranging from small streams, lakes, and wetlands in headwater areas to major river valleys and seacoasts. Although
it generally is assumed that topographically high areas are groundwater recharge areas and topographically low areas are groundwater
discharge areas, this is true primarily for regional flow systems. The superposition of local flow systems associated with
surface-water bodies on this regional framework results in complex interactions between groundwater and surface water in all
landscapes, regardless of regional topographic position. Hydrologic processes associated with the surface-water bodies themselves,
such as seasonally high surface-water levels and evaporation and transpiration of groundwater from around the perimeter of
surface-water bodies, are a major cause of the complex and seasonally dynamic groundwater flow fields associated with surface
water. These processes have been documented at research sites in glacial, dune, coastal, mantled karst, and riverine terrains.

This study focuses on the medium scale morphodynamics of the tidal flat and channel system Fedderwarder Priel, located in the Outer Weser estuary (Wadden Sea, Germany). Tidal channels and adjacent flats are highly dynamic systems whose morphologic evolution are driven by tidal, wind, and wave forcings. These coastal environments are an important ecosystem and react to changes in hydrodynamic conditions in various spatial and temporal scales. Based on annual medium-resolution digital elevation models from 1998 to 2016, we describe changes in the surface area over depth with hypsometries and use vertical dynamic trends in order to analyze and visualize the morphologic evolution of the Fedderwarder Priel and adjacent tidal channels. It is shown that several intertidal flats rise in the order of 1.3 to 5.6 cm/year. The findings indicate that the Outer Weser estuary was not in an equilibrium state for the investigated period, and tidal flats accreted with a rate exceeding mean sea level rise. 相似文献
