Numerical Simulation of Sand Shoreline Evolution Under Action of Regular Waves and Irregular Waves

Based on the singleline theory, a numerical simulation is presented to predict the shoreline evolution on sand beach. A parabolic equation of longshore sediment transport and boundary conditions are proposed. The combined effect of wave diffraction and refraction on the shoreline evolution on the downdrift side of the breakwater is taken into account and is calculated using the theory of regular waves and irregular waves. The present model is verified by the field observation data of erosion for half a year on the downdrift side of a harbor, and compared with some experimental results. The numerical results are in good agreement with the field measured and experimental data.

Preliminary site classification of free-field strong motion stations based on Wenchuan earthquake records

In recent years, a series of major earthquakes occurred, which resulted in considerable engineering damage and collapse, triggered heavy geological haz-ards, and caused extremely high casualties and huge property and economic loss.     

地震动幅值沿深度变化研究

以美国加州强震观测计划(CSMIP)的6个土工台阵和日本Hosokura矿台阵为研究对象, 以323组三分量地表和地下地震动峰值数据为基础, 按照台阵场地的软硬和土层分布, 将其分为基岩、 土层和ldquo;土层/基岩rdquo;台阵. 对于同一类台阵记录的所有地震, 分别按照震级和地表地震动峰值的大小将其分类. 对于同一类台阵的各类地震, 分别对加速度、 速度和位移峰值沿深度的变化进行统计分析, 得到沿深度变化的峰值比, 并且用非线性最小平方法, 采用指数衰减模型, 对峰值比沿深度变化曲线进行拟合. 通过对各类场地的各类地震的分析, 得到了地震动峰值沿深度变化的初步规律.

Field investigation on severely damaged aseismic buildings in 2014 Ludian earthquake

The 2014 magnitude 6.5 Ludian earthquake caused a death toll of 617, many landslides and tens of thousands of collapsed buildings. A field investigation to evaluate the damage to buildings was carried out immediately after the occurrence of the earthquake. Severely damaged aseismic buildings, which were basically observed in the downtown of Longtoushan Town, were carefully examined one by one with the aim to improve design codes. This paper summarizes the damage observed to the investigated aseismic buildings in both the structural and local levels. A common failure mode was observed that most of the aseismic buildings, such as RC frame structures and confined masonry structures, were similarly destroyed by severe damage or complete collapse of the first story. The related strong ground motion, which was recorded at the nearby station, had a short duration of less than 20 s but a very large PGA up to 1.0 g. The RC frames based on the new design codes still failed to achieve the design target for "strong column, weak beam". Typical local failure details, which were related to the interaction between RC columns and infill walls and between constructional columns and masonry walls, are summarized with preliminary analyses.
