A morphological analysis of the results of sounding the lower equatorial ionosphere (the D region) in the region of action of strong tropospheric vortex disturbances (tropical cyclones, TC) is presented in this work. Based on the rocket sounding of the lower ionosphere at Thumba rocket site (8° N, 77° E) in May–June 1985 and on the satellite monitoring of TC in the northern Indian Ocean, it is demonstrated that a sharp depletion (by a factor of 2–4) of the electron concentration at altitudes of 60–80 km could be a response of the ionosphere during the TC active phase. In this case the lower boundary of the D region rose by several kilometers (not more than 5 km), and the temperature in the region of the stratopause slightly (by 2°–3°) increases. It is assumed that internal gravity waves (IGWs) generated by TC cause the effect on the lower ion-osphere.  相似文献

In this paper we develop further the satellite radiothermovision methods for analyzing the evolution of tropical cyclones. The complicated case of Goni and Atsani interacting typhoons is considered. It has been shown that, although their interaction does not explicitly influence the features of the typhoon trajectories, indications of the formation of complex advective fluxes in the lower troposphere can be revealed from both a qualitative analysis of miscellaneous satellite data and a quantitative estimation of latent heat advection. At the same time, in contrast to the previous works, we had to introduce the integration contours of a complex form (differing from a circular one) into the analysis, so that the energy balance of the typhoon system is correctly described. In a general way, defining such contours is a separate problem whose solution is probably related to the invocation of a large volume of additional satellite information. Due to the peculiarity of the considered case of Goni and Atsani twin typhoons, we demonstrated the effectiveness of a simplified approach that uses a composite contour formed by overlapping two circular ones. Generally, as in the cases previously considered, we found the interrelation between the intensification and dissipation of typhoons (tropical cyclones) and the modes of convergent and divergent advection of latent heat with amplitudes sufficient to support the total power of the system.  相似文献

The first Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr dates were obtained for the dynamometamorphic processes associated with the origin and evolution of the Moncha Tundra fault, Kola Peninsula, which separates two large Early Paleoproterozoic layered intrusions: the Monchegorsk Ni-bearing mafic-ultramafic intrusion and the Main Range massif of predominantly mafic composition. The fault belongs to the regional Central Kola fault system, whose age was unknown. The material for the dating included metamorphic minerals from blastomylonitic rocks recovered by structural borehole M-1. Mineralogical thermobarometry suggests that the metamorphism occurred at 6.9–7.6 kbar and 620–640°C, which correspond to the amphibolite facies. The Sr and Nd isotopic systems were re-equilibrated, and their study allowed us to date the dynamometamorphic processes using mineral isochrons. It was established that the Moncha Tundra fault, and, respectively, the whole Central Kola fault system appeared in the middle of Paleoproterozoic ~2.0–1.9 Ga, simultaneously with the Svecofennian orogen in the central part of the region and the Lapland-Kola orogen in its northeastern part. Another episode of dynamometamorphism that occurred at 1.60–1.65 Ga is envisaged.  相似文献

A comparative analysis of within-plate (intracontinental) and orogenic magmatic series formed during various evolution stages of the East European Craton (EEC) was performed using geological-petrological, geochemical, and isotopic data. The example of Baltic shield indicates that the compositions and tectonic settings of mantle melts in the Early Precambrian (Archean and Early Paleoproterozoic) significantly differed from those in the Phanerozoic. The Early Precambrian magmas were dominated by high-Mg low-Ti melts of the komatiite-basaltic and boninite-like series; this tectonomagmatic activity was determined by the ascent of mantle superplumes of the first generation, which originated in the depleted mantle. In the interval of 2.3–2.0 Ga, high-Mg mantle melts gradually gave place to the Fe-Ti picrites and basalts that are typical of within-plate Phanerozoic magmatism; at ~2 Ga, plume tectonics of the Early Precambrian gave way to plate tectonics. This is considered to be linked to the activity of mantle superplumes of the second generation (thermochemical), which originated from the liquid metallic core/mantle interface. Owing to the presence of fluid components, these superplumes reached much higher levels, where spreading of their head portions led to the active interaction with overlaying thinned rigid lithosphere. Sm-Nd isotopic studies showed that orogenic Neoarchean and Middle Paleoproterozoic magmatism of the Baltic shield was connected to the melting of the lithospheric mantle and crust; the melting of crustal sources gave rise to felsic members of the considered complexes. The systematic geochemical variations observed in these rocks with time presumably reflect a general trend toward an increase of the thickness of the continental crust serving as the basement for orogens. Beginning at ~2 Ga, the Meso, Neoproterozoic, and Phanerozoic including, no systematic variations were observed in the isotopic-geochemical characteristics of within-plate magmatism. All considered age sections demonstrate that isotopic-geochemical characteristics of parental mantle melts were strongly modified by crustal contamination. Mesoproterozoic magmatism of EEC was unique in the development of giant anorthosite-rapakivi granite complexes. Kimberlites and lamproites were repeatedly formed within EEC in the time interval from 1.8 to 0.36 Ga; their maximal development was noted in the Late Devonian. It was shown that only kimberlites derived from weakly enriched mantle are diamondiferous in the Arkhangelsk province; in the classic diamond provinces (Africa and Yakutia), diamondiferous kimberlites were derived from both depleted and enriched mantle.  相似文献
