The REE distribution was studied in the bottom sediments of the East Arctic shelf of Russia. It is established that sediments of the Laptev and western East Siberian seas are significantly enriched in REEs, the contents of which are much higher than those of other near-continental basins. The main REE sources are runoff of the Lena River, the basin of which comprises ancient crystalline shields and magmatic rocks enriched in LREEs with significant contribution from the coastal erosion of the ice complex from the Laptev Sea and western East Siberian Sea. The terrigenous flux with a specific REE composition is supplied to the Chukchi Sea through the Bering Strait. 相似文献

Results of data analysis, based on measurement of atmospheric concentrations of methane in the shallow part of the East Siberian
shelf (ESS) are presented in this work. It was shown that methane emission in the atmosphere is determined not only by natural
factors, but is also sensitive to anthropogenic influences, like the engine mode of a ship. It was determined that the hydraulic
impact, which occurs when starting a ship’s engine after drifting through a shallow, can induce a great methane outbreak in
the atmosphere. The power of these “short-lived” sources can exceed the power of any one deep-water mud volcano. In the shallow
parts of the ESS, the anthropogenic factor can be one of the important factors effecting methane outbreaks in the atmosphere. 相似文献

New data on the particle size composition of the Laptev Sea shelf deposits were obtained on the basis of results of low-angle laser light-scattering of core samples from the columns studied. It was revealed that the sand fraction dominates. The results of comparative analysis of the particle size composition of deposits show that the Laptev Sea shelf zone was characterized by highly variable spatial–temporal conditions and settings of sedimentation in the Quaternary, a polygenic character of deposits, and a pulsating influence of fluvial and slope processes on the conditions of sedimentation. A tendency of coarsening in the vertical sequence that contributes to thawing of the permafrost was revealed in the Ivashkina lagoon. 相似文献
