The temporal change of the rotation vector of a rotating body is, in the first order, identical in a space-fixed system and in a body-fixed system. Therefore, if the motion of the rotation axis of the earth relative to a space-fixed system is given as a function of time, it should be possible to compute its motion relative to an earth-fixed system, and vice versa. This paper presents such a transformation. Two models of motion of the rotation axis in the space-fixed system are considered: one consisting only of a regular (i.e., strictly conical) precession and one extended by circular nutation components, which are superimposed upon the regular precession. The Euler angles describing the orientation of the earth-fixed system with respect to the space-fixed system are derived by an analytical solution of the kinematical Eulerian differential equations. In the first case (precession only), this is directly possible, and in the second case (precession and nutation), a solution is achieved by a perturbation approach, where the result of the first case serves as an approximation and nutation is regarded as a small perturbation, which is treated in a linearized form. The transformation by means of these Euler angles shows that the rotation axis performs in the earth-fixed system retrograde conical revolutions with small amplitudes, namely one revolution with a period of one sidereal day corresponding to precession and one revolution with a period which is slightly smaller or larger than one sidereal day corresponding to each (prograde or retrograde) circular nutation component. The peculiar feature of the derivation presented here is the analytical solution of the Eulerian differential equations.  相似文献

We discuss here the spectroscopic properties of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 7130 (= IC 5135). Emission line regions were isolated and line ratios were measured and fitted with photoionization models; this allowed to discriminate between thermal and non thermal ionization in the circumnuclear regions. Massive star formation is likely to occur at projected distances from the nucleus ≫ 2 kpc: line profiles in these regions suggest the presence of outflows of gas due to stellar winds from hot massive stars.  相似文献

For the first time, ichthyoliths are described from the Santos sedimentary basin, offshore southern Brazil. Isolated teeth, dermal scales and the first documented otoliths from Cretaceous (Albian) to Recent cuttings from five wells are described. The following groups are represented: Chondrichthyans: Triakidae, Carcharhinidae; Ginglymostomatidae: ?Ginglymostoma sp., Lamnidae indet., Scyliorhinidae; Osteichthyans: Teleostei; Myctophiidae: Diaphus aff. splendidus sp. complex, Diaphus spp., Diaphus cf. garmani, Ceratoscopelus aff. warmingii; Sternoptychidae: Valenciennellus tripunctulatus, teeth of indeterminate Teleostei. The majority of these ichthyofossils represent extant forms, known to occur in the Atlantic Ocean, and are of potential value for stratigraphical correlations between oil‐yielding basins in the region. Ostracods are not well preserved but can be identified to generic level indicating marine environments. The ostracod faunas offer potential for intrabasinal correlation in the Eocene and Oligocene. In the present study, we performed gastropod analyses on loess–palaeosol sequences from northeast Armenia (Southern Caucasia) covering at least three glacial–interglacial cycles. The elaborated ecostratigraphy shows significant patterns of species composition related to the succession of pedocomplexes and loess, respectively. Pedocomplexes included species that can be associated with high-grass to forest-steppe biomes, indicating increased humidity for these sections compared to the loess layers. In contrast, loess layers that relate to glacial periods are associated with gastropod species of semidesert environments with shrub- and shortgrass-steppes, indicating semiarid to arid conditions. Furthermore, the loess deposits do not show any evidence for cold-adapted gastropod species. Therefore, we suggest that average July temperatures in the study area were above 10 °C, even during periods of loess deposition. Consequently, we propose that the limiting factor for tree growth during glacial periods was aridity, rather than temperature. In addition, we observe environmental differences between the various glacial times, with our results indicating a trend towards steadily increasing aridity in Southern Caucasia across the Middle to Late Pleistocene.  相似文献

On plates taken with 2 different photographic telescopes compact galaxies in 3 fields near M3 and M92 were selected. The integral magnitudes and maximum angular diameters of the compacts were determined. The RITCHEY -CHRéTIEN telescope of the FIGL Observatory for Astrophysics (FOA) with a focal ratio of 1:8.3 has a scale of 1 mm = 16.3, while the Tautenburg SCHMIDT with 1:3.2 has a scale of 1 mm ≌ 52°. From the selection statistics for both telescopes results nearly the same number of objects (50) up to 18m.5 in V in a field of 1.5□°.60% of these objects are identical. An integral photometry on B plates of the same limiting magnitude from both telescopes leads to nearly the same brightness of objects, while they are om.5 fainter on FOA V plates. Because of its smaller focal ratio this telescope does not record the halo parts of the compacts. This is clearly demonstrated by the maximum equidensitometric diameters which on FAO plates are on the average only half of those determined on Tautenburg plates. Zusammenfassung Der Eisenkappeler Granit und sein Randporphyr wurden mineralogisch und petrographisch untersucht. Der Randporphyr und auch Übergangszonen zum Kerngranit zeigen eine Ummantelung der Alkalifeldspate mit Plagioklas-Rapakivi Textur. Genaue analytische Untersuchungen an, Alkalifeldspateinkristallen und den dazugehörigen Plagioklashüllen (bzw. den in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft befindlichen Plagioklasen bei Proben des Kerngranits) ergaben folgende Einzelheiten: Die Alkalifeldspate sind Mikroklinperthite mit einer durchschnittlichen Triklinität von =0,50. Der Ab-Gehalt ist hoch (Kerngranit um Ab=31%, Randporphyr um Ab=38%), ebenso der An-Gehalt (durchschnittlich 3,5%). Die Plagioklase sind Oligoklase (Kerngranit um An=28%, Randporphyr um An=22%) mit einem extrem hohen Or-Gehalt (Or=4,2% bis 7,0%) und teilweise antiperthitisch entmischt. Die Zusammensetzung der Feldspate läßt auf relativ hohe Bildungstemperaturen und entsprechend niedrige Wasserdampfdrucke schließen. Die Untersuchungsergebnisse und die Entstehung der Rapakivi Textur werden diskutiert.
Summary The granite of Eisenkappel and its marginal porphyry (Carinthia) have been investigated. The latter as well as gradations toward the central granite have alkalifeldspars manteled with plagioclase (rapakivi texture). The phenocrysts of the alkalifeldspars and their plagioclase rims and the phenocrysts of alkalifeldspar and neighbouring plagioclases in case of the central granite show the following attitudes: The alkalifeldspar are microcline perthites with an abliquity =0,50; From the central granite to the marginal porphyry the Abcontent of the alkalifeldspar increases from Ab=31–38 wight percent. The An-content is 3,5%. The An-content of the plagioclase drops in the same direction (An=28–22%). They exhibit a high Or-content (Or=4,2–7%) which is partly unmixed to antiperthite. The composition of the feldspars reflects a rather high temperature of formation and corresponding low water vapor pressure. The results and the origin of the rapakivi texture are discussed.
