A method of adaptation of the ionospheric channel parameters to the current conditions is proposed. The observational data on the temporal behavior of signals of radio stations with known location and set of working frequencies (the so-called reference stations) are used as information describing the current state of the channel. A facility that makes possible to determine by simple means the moments of radio rises and declines on the reference paths has been created. A technique that relates for these instants working frequencies of the stations with maximum usable frequencies of the paths has been developed. By means of an approximate solution of the inverse problem using the method of characteristics for the calculation of radiowave propagation and the monthly average semiempirical model of the ionosphere, the height profile of electron density in a certain spatial region is refined. The efficiency of the proposed method of adaptation of the ionospheric channel parameters using the data of vertical sounding is assessed and the expediency of practical application of such adaptation is shown.  相似文献

ABSTRACT The Eridanos fluvio‐deltaic system, draining most of north‐western Europe, developed during the Late Cenozoic as a result of simultaneous uplift of the Fennoscandian shield and accelerated subsidence in the North Sea Basin. This seismo‐stratigraphic study aims to reconstruct the large‐scale depositional architecture of the deltaic portion of the basin fill and relate it to external controls. A total of 27 units have been recognized. They comprise over 62×103 km3 in the Southern North Sea Basin alone, and have an average delta surface area of 28×103 km2, which suggests that the size of the drainage area was about 1.1×106 km2. Water depth in the depocentre is seen to decrease systematically over time. This trend is interrupted by a deepening phase between 6.5 and 4.5 Ma that can be correlated with the simultaneous occurrence of increased uplift of the Fennoscandian shield, increased subsidence of the Southern North Sea Basin, and a long‐term eustatic highstand. All these observations point to a tectonic control on long‐term average rates of accommodation and supply. Controls on short‐term variations are inferred from variations in rates of sediment supply and bifurcation of the delta channel network. Both rates were initially low under warm, moist, relatively stable climate conditions. The straight wave‐dominated delta front gradually developed into a lobate fluvial‐dominated delta front. Two high‐amplitude sea‐level falls affected the Pliocene units, which are characterized by widespread delta‐front failures. Changes in relative sea level and climate became more frequent from the late Pliocene onward, as the system experienced the effects of glacial–interglacial transitions. Peaks in sedimentation and bifurcation rates were coeval with cold (glacial) conditions. The positive correlation between rates of supply and bifurcation on the one hand, and climate proxies (pollen and δ18O records) on the other hand is highly significant. The evidence presented in this study convincingly demonstrates the control of climate on time‐averaged sediment supply and channel‐network characteristics, despite the expected nonuniformity and time lags in system response. The presence of a clearly discernible climate signal in time‐averaged sediment supply illustrates the usefulness of integrated seismo‐stratigraphic studies for basin‐wide analysis of delta evolution on geological time scales.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of an analysis of elemental abundances in the atmosphere of η Ser—a red giant of spectral type K2IIIabCN1, according to Hoffleit and Jaschek [4]. The resulting atmospheric parameters correspond to a K0 giant, and the peculiarities of the star’s chemical composition provide evidence that the assignment of η Ser to the class of CN stars was erroneous.  相似文献

Tweek atmospherics generated by lightning discharges and propagated in the night-time Earth-ionosphere waveguide, have often very pronounced dispersive features near the first few waveguide cut-off frequencies (fcm\simm\dot{s}fc1, fc1\sim1.6-1.9 kHz, m=1, 2, ...,), being very extended in time, and have rather large amplitudes of oscillations with periods corresponding to the narrow vicinity of the cut-off frequencies. In this paper an analytical approach is developed to describe the waveform of distant tweeks. It is based on the solving of the Maxwell equations in two qualitatively different regions, whose changes are related in the first instance to the changes in the relative magnitudes of the displacement current and components of the conduction currents, and the following asymptotic matching of the solutions in the transitional region. The analytical night-time waveguide model accounts for both anisotropy and vertical inhomogeneity of the low ionosphere. The model is valid for upper ELF - lower VLF range and is well suitable for the analysis of the QTEm modes in the cut-off frequency regions, which determine the most important part of the tweek spectra and tweek amplitudes. The influence of the different ionospheric heights on the tweek characteristics is determined. The efficiency of the tweek generation by cloud-to-cloud discharge is also evaluated.  相似文献

We have measured in situ Mössbauer transmission spectra of iron silicate spinel (γ-Fe2SiO4) in a diamond anvil cell at room temperature and pressures up to 16 GPa. The observed spectra show a doublet characteristic of the paramagnetic state. The isomer shift and quadrupole splitting at atmospheric pressure are 1.10 and 2.63 mm/s, respectively, which are smaller than those of fayalite (α-Fe2SiO4). Both the isomer shift and quadrupole splitting decrease linearly with pressure with slope of ?0.003(1) and ?0.020(1) mm/sec · GPa, respectively. This simple linear trend suggests that no electronic or polymorphic transitions occur under 16 GPa except for those due to the small and continuous changes of volume and local symmetry under pressure. On the basis of a crystalline field calculation, the negative pressure derivative of the quadrupole splitting is associated with a trend towards an ideal cubic symmetry of the oxygen sublattice.  相似文献

Summary The diurnal and seasonal variation of the VLF sferics pulse rate recorded at Roburent, Northern Italy, on 27 kHz since 1966 is derived. By analyzing the sunrise effect, the minimum distance of the thunderstorm centers providing at that time an unperturbed behaviour of the sferics pulse rate is obtained: this distance varies in azimuth and with the seasons and lies between 600 and 1300 km. In the time of the equinoxes, however, it is more stable between 700 and 900 km. The role of the groundwave propagation, generated by thunderstorm center within a radius of less than 500 km, is emphasized.
Zusammenfassung Der Tagesgang und der Jahresgang der Sferics-Impulshäufigkeit werden abgeleitet. Diese Sferics-Häufigkeit ist seit 1966 auf 27 kHz in Roburent, in Nord-Italien, registriert worden. Der Mindestabstand der Gewitterherde, welche zur Zeit des Sonnenaufgangs ein ungestörte Bild der Impulshäufigkeit geben, wird mit Hilfe des Sonnenaufgangseffekts abgeleitet: der Abstand liegt — abhängig von der Jahreszeit und der Einfallsrichtung — zwischen 600 und 1300 km; jedoch bewegt er sich in dem engeren Rahmen zwischen 700 und 900 km zur Zeit der Tag-und Nachtgleichen. Betont wird die Rolle der Bodenwelle, welche von Gewitterherden in einem Abstand von weniger als 500 km erzeugt wird.

The Turja Peninsula consists of porphyritic granite overlain by sandstone, cut by numerous dikes and veins of varying composition, form, and orientation. The relative ages of the dikes and veins has been established by their mutual intersections, and correlation of these with compositions of the rocks demonstrates the existence of three periods of igneous activity. The dikes and veins of the first period strike predominantly NNE and dip ESE. Most of those of the second period strike E-W and dip N, but those of a subordinate group strike NNE and dip ESE. Those of the third period strike predominantly N-S and dip E. The first and third periods are characterized by fine grained rocks resembling effusives, the second by coarse grained typically intrusive rocks and intense metasomatism that altered both dikes and veins and the wall rocks. The difference in texture of rocks formed at the same depth horizon is attributed to a difference in temperature of the wall rocks and the rate of rise of the magma through them.  相似文献
