The paper discusses the parameters derived through deep-sea precision CTD-probings, characteristic of the structure of the
near-bottom boundaries layer, specifically, the depth of the layer's upper boundary and the mean vertical potential temperature/salinity
gradients, as well as the density ratio over the layer of the near-bottom convection. The peculiarities of the parameters'
spatial distribution have been identified. The conclusion derived from the analysis of the model implies that the near-bottom
boundary layer occurs, aside from the presence of the bottom geothermal heat flux, due to the strong dependence of the Bosphorus
salt flux on stratification. The dependence of the Black Sea buoyancy flux and vertical diffusion coefficient on depth has
been estimated.

New and published data on the distribution and speciation of manganese and iron in seawater are analyzed to identify and parameterize major biogeochemical processes of their cycling within the suboxic (15.6σt16.2) and anoxic layers (σt16.2) of the Black Sea. A steady-state transport-reaction model is applied to reveal layering and parameterize kinetics of redox and dissolution/precipitation processes. Previously published data on speciation of these elements in seawater are used to specify the nature of the transformations. Two particulate species of iron (Fe(III) hydroxide and Fe(II) sulfide) are necessary to adequately parameterize the vertical profile of suspended iron, while three particulate species (hydrous Mn(IV) oxide, Mn(II) sulfide, and Mn(II) carbonate) are necessary to describe the profile of suspended manganese. In addition to such processes as mixing and advection, precipitation, sinking, and dissolution of manganese carbonate are found to be essential in maintaining the observed vertical distribution of dissolved Mn(II). These results are used to interpret the observed difference in the form of vertical distribution for dissolved Mn(II) and Fe(II). Redox transformations of iron and manganese are coupled via oxidation of dissolved iron by sinking suspended manganese at σt16.2±0.2 kg m−3. The particulate manganese, necessary for this reaction, is supplied through oxidation of dissolved Mn(II). The best agreement with observations is achieved when nitrate, rather than oxygen, is set to oxidize dissolved Mn(II) in the lower part of the suboxic layer (15.90σt16.2). The results support the idea that, after sulfides of these metals are formed, they sink with particulate organic matter. The sinking rates of the particles and specific rates of individual redox and dissolved-particulate transformations have been estimated by fitting the vertical profile of the net rate. 相似文献
We make an attempt to answer the following question: how a natural stationary system formed by a layer and an interface “selects”
a unique set of governing parameters from a great number of possible collections under the conditions of double-diffusion
layer convection (e.g., for the bottom boundary layer in the Black Sea)? As the “rule of selection,” we use the principle
of minimum entropy production for systems close to the state of thermodynamic equilibrium. In the process of solution of the
problem, the system is regarded as a heat engine. The proposed approach is reduced to a simple procedure of application of
the principle of minimum entropy production to the analyzed case. The combined analysis of the theoretical results, the data
of deepwater field measurements in the Black Sea, and the results of laboratory experiments leads us to the conclusion that,
most likely, the stationary system “selects” its governing parameters according to the Prigogine–Glansdorff principle. The
density ratio (approximately equal to three for the stationary case) proves to be the key parameter of the system.

The results of observations on the Large Phased Array of the Lebedev Physical Institute made as part of a survey of the northern sky at 102.5 MHz are reported. Survey source lists for the declination ranges 27.5°–33.5° and 67.5°–70.5° are given, together with their coordinates, flux densities, and identifications with 4C objects. In total, there are 920 sources with flux densities S102.5≥3.0 Jy in the two zones, which cover 0.73 star. The observing and data-reduction methods are described, and the reliability and completeness of the catalog are estimated. 相似文献
We present a summary of late Paleoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic mafic magmatism in the Siberian craton, including recently published U–Pb and 40Ar–39Ar dates. These new precise ages suggest that at least some of the previously published K–Ar ages of Siberian mafic bodies should be ignored. The time–space geochronological chart, or the ‘barcode’ of mafic magmatic events shows significant differences between northern and southern Siberia. Both are characterized by ∼1900–1700 Ma magmatic events, but then there was an almost 1 Ga mafic magmatic ‘pause’ in south Siberia until ∼800 Ma. Meanwhile there are indications of multiple mafic magmatic events in North Siberia (Anabar shield and Olenek uplift) between ∼1600 and 1000 Ma. A series of magmatic events probably related to the breakup of Rodinia occurred in southern Siberia after ∼800 Ma. So far, there are no indications of late Neoproterozoic mafic magmatism in North Siberia. Ca. 1000–950 Ma mafic sills were reported from Meso- to Neo-Proterozoic sedimentary successions in the Sette-Daban area on the east side of the Siberian craton, but their tectonic setting is debated. Recent Ar–Ar dates of ∼1750 Ma for NW-trending dykes in the Aldan and Anabar shields, together with similar-age NNE-trending Baikal uplift dykes in south-eastern Siberia suggest the existence of a giant radial dyke swarm possibly related to a mantle plume centred in the Vilyui River area. 相似文献
The Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) effect represents a small spectral distortion to the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation, caused by the Compton scattering of CMB photons by the hot gas of galaxy clusters. In an early stage of universe, the SZ effect generates \(\mu\)-type of distortions for the CMB spectrum. A \(\mu\)-type distortion is created between the double Compton scattering decoupling (\(z \sim 10^{6}\)) and the thermalization decoupling by the Compton scattering (\(z \sim 10^{5}\)). In this case, to describe the small spectral distortion of the CMB spectrum, we use the Bose-Einstein (\(\mu\)-type) distribution with a non-zero chemical potential. At present, it is interesting to investigate the effect of this spectral distortion on the integral characteristics of the Bose-Einstein (\(\mu\)-type) spectrum. The thermal radiative and thermodynamic functions are such integral characteristics. These functions are as follows: a) the total radiation power per unit area; b) total energy density; c) number density of photons; d) grand potential density; e) Helmholtz free energy density; f) entropy density; g) heat capacity at constant volume; h) enthalpy density; and i) pressure. Precise analytical expressions are obtained for the temperature dependences of these functions. Using the observational data obtained by the COBE FIRAS, PIXIE, PRISM, and Planck missions, the thermal radiative and thermodynamic functions are calculated. A comparative analysis of the results obtained with the results for the same functions of the CMB spectrum at \(T = 2.72548~\mbox{K}\) is carried out. Very small distortions are observed for the thermal radiative and thermodynamic functions. In the redshift range \(10^{5} < z < 3 \times10^{6}\), these functions are calculated. The expressions are obtained for new astrophysical parameters, such as the entropy density/Boltzmann constant and number density, created by the Bose-Einstein (\(\mu\)-type) spectrum. 相似文献
We have developed an active dipole that is intended for use in new generation low frequency array applications. The preamplifier of the active dipole has very high linearity (input IP2 = 70 dBm, input IP3 = 31 dBm) and low noise temperature (100?C360 K). The frequency dependence of the dipole impedance and the match between the dipole and preamplifier have been optimized to achieve Galactic noise limited operation. The ratio between the antenna temperature due to Galactic noise and the noise temperature of the preamplifier is 10 ± 1.5 dB over the whole 10 to 70 MHz range. The total cost of the active cross-dipole is 220 euro. 相似文献
Thermochemical plumes form at the base of the lower mantle as a consequence of heat flow from the outer core and the presence of local chemical doping that decreases the melting temperature. Theoretical and experimental modelling of thermochemical plumes show that the diameter of a plume conduit remains practically constant during plume ascent. However, when the top of a plume reaches a refractory layer, whose melting temperature is higher than the melt temperature in the plume conduit, a mushroom-shaped plume head develops. Main parameters (melt viscosity, ascent time, ascent velocity, temperature differences in the plume conduit, and thermal power) are presented for a thermochemical plume ascending from the core–mantle boundary. In addition, the following relationships are developed: the pressure distribution in the plume conduit during the ascent of a plume, conditions for eruption-conduit formation, the effect of the P–T conditions and controls on the shape and size of a plume top, heat transfer between a thermochemical plume and the lithosphere (when the plume reaches the bottom of a refractory layer in the lithosphere), and eruption volume versus the time interval t1 between plume formation and eruption. These relationships are used to determine thermal power and time t1 for the Tunguska syneclise and the Siberian traps as a whole.
The Siberian and other trap provinces are characterized by giant volumes of lavas and sills formed a very short time period. Data permit a model for superplumes with three stages of formation: early (variable picrites and alkali basalts), main (tholeiite plateau basalts), and final (ultrabasic and alkaline lavas and intrusions). These stages reflect the evolution of a superplume from the ascent of one or several independent plumes, through the formation of thick lenses of mantle melts underplating the lithosphere and, finally, intrusion and extrusion of differentiated mantle melts. Synchronous syenite–granite intrusions and bimodal volcanism abundant in the margins of the Siberian traps are the result of melting of the lower crust at depths of 65–70 km under the effect of plume melts. 相似文献
We compare the results obtained by using theoretical and semiempirical models developed for the evaluation of the dissipation rate of turbulent energy in a stratified ocean with independent distribution of this quantity established by the authors for the active layer of the Black Sea (50–300 m) by using a one-dimensional model taking into account the balance of heat, salt, and fluid inside the layer. It is shown that, in a layer with gradual variation of the Väisälä–Brunt frequency N as a function of depth, the predominant sink of the energy of motion into dissipation N2 is ensured by the flow of energy through the spectrum of internal waves toward low frequencies and small vertical scales. On the contrary, in layers with abrupt drops of density as a function of depth (layers with jumps of density), an important role is played by the interface-type waves and the dependence of on N transforms into N . 相似文献
