A method is introduced to regularize binary collisions between one of the bodies and any number of other bodies in the three-dimensional problem ofn-bodies. The coordinates are first transformed from an inertial system to a system relative to one of the bodies. The relative age of glacial deposits on Jameson Land was investigated by weathering-based techniques. Two related methods, measurement of rind thickness and of Schmidt hammer rebound values. were added to a dating programme of luminescence-, amino acid- and 14C-analyses. Rind thicknesses differ significantly between areas which represent three glacial phascs, spanning a time interval from late Saale to Late Weichselian. Rebound values are more susceptible to external factors than the rind values but may, if these external factors are known, serve as a complement to the interpretation of rind development.  相似文献

The age and correlation of marginal moraines in Norway is discussed. A tentative location of the ice margin 15,000 B.P. is suggested, as well as a more firmly based location of the 10,000 B.P. ice margin. The objective of this research was to study the relationships between environmental factors and vegetation in order to find the most effective factors in the separation of the vegetation types in Poshtkou rangelands of Yazd province. Sampling of soil and vegetation were performed with randomized-systematic method. Vegetation data including density and cover percentage were estimated quantitatively within each quadrat, and using the two-way indicator species analysis (TWINSPAN), and vegetation was classified into different groups. The topographic conditions were recorded in quadrat locations. Soil samples were taken in 0–30 and 30–60 cm depths in each quadrat. The measured soil variables included texture, lime, saturation moisture, gypsum, acidity (pH), electrical conductivity, sodium absorption ratio, and soluble ions (Na+, K+, Mg2+, Cl, CO32−, HCO3 and SO42−). Multivariate techniques including principal component analysis (PCA) and canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) were used to analyse the collected data. The results showed that the vegetation distribution pattern was mainly related to soil characteristics such as salinity, texture, soluble potassium, gypsum, and lime. Totally, considering the habitat conditions, ecological needs and tolerance range each plant species has a significant relation with soil properties.  相似文献

Seismoacoustic profiles from the Arkona Basin show a late Pleistocene and Holocene succession of several distinct reflectors. The physical, sedimentological, mineralogical and geochemical properties of more than 30 sediment cores were analysed in order to assign these reflectors to specific sedimentary discontinuity layers. Additionally, AMS 14C data and biostratigraphic information were gathered. Based on this multi‐proxy approach, seven lithostratigraphic units (AI, AII, B to F) were distinguished. These consist of fine‐grained clay, silt and mud, and are separated from each other by thin basin‐wide traceable sandy layers (Sab‐Sef). The most sensitive parameter to mark the lithostratigraphic boundaries is the weight percentage of the grain‐size fraction >63μm. In addition, some of the quartz‐grain‐dominated sandy layers cause the strong reflection lines recorded in seismoacoustic profiles. The sandy layers are interpreted to reflect enhanced hydrodynamic energy induced by episodes of basin‐wide water‐level low‐stand conditions. These low stands resulted from water‐level drops that occurred frequently during the Baltic Sea's history and presumably affected the entire Baltic basin. The thick fine‐grained units AI, AII to F, in which coarser material is absent, represent water‐level high‐stands. We conclude that the units AI and AII are Baltic Ice Lake sediments deposited before and after the Billingen‐1 regression, respectively. We assign the most prominent sandy layer Sab to the final drainage of the Baltic Ice Lake (Billingen‐2), whereas the sandy layers between units B, C., D and E are related to the Yoldia Sea and Ancylus Lake regressions of the Baltic Sea's history. The uppermost fine‐grained unit F with its high organic carbon content contains marine sediments deposited after the Littorina Transgression. The macroscopically well‐visible sediment colour change from reddish/brown‐to‐grey, previously interpreted as a regional stratigraphic boundary, varies from core to core. It has been shown by our new data that this colour change has a diagenetic origin, and thus does not represent a stratigraphic boundary. Previous subdivisions therefore have to be revised.  相似文献

Parameters in a stack of homogeneous anelastic layers are estimated from seismic data, using the amplitude versus offset (AVO) variations and the travel-times. The unknown parameters in each layer are the layer thickness, the P-wave velocity, the S-wave velocity, the density and the quality factor. Dynamic ray tracing is used to solve the forward problem. Multiple reflections are included, but wave-mode conversions are not considered. The S-wave velocities are estimated from the PP reflection and transmission coefficients. The inverse problem is solved using a stabilized least-squares procedure. The Gauss-Newton approximation to the Hessian matrix is used, and the derivatives of the dynamic ray-tracing equation are calculated analytically for each iteration. A conventional velocity analysis, the common mid-point (CMP) stack and a set of CMP gathers are used to identify the number of layers and to establish initial estimates for the P-wave velocities and the layer thicknesses. The inversion is carried out globally for all parameters simultaneously or by a stepwise approach where a smaller number of parameters is considered in each step. We discuss several practical problems related to inversion of real data. The performance of the algorithm is tested on one synthetic and two real data sets. For the real data inversion, we explained up to 90% of the energy in the data. However, the reliability of the parameter estimates must at this stage be considered as uncertain.  相似文献

Seismic amplitude variations with offset contain information about the elastic parameters. Prestack amplitude analysis seeks to extract this information by using the variations of the reflection coefficients as functions of angle of incidence. Normally, an approximate formula is used for the reflection coefficients, and variations with offset of the geometrical spreading and the anelastic attenuation are often ignored. Using angle of incidence as the dependent variable is also computationally inefficient since the data are recorded as a function of offset. Improved approximations have been derived for the elastic reflection and transmission coefficients, the geometrical spreading and the complex travel-time (including anelastic attenuation). For a 1 D medium, these approximations are combined to produce seismic reflection amplitudes (P-wave, S-wave or converted wave) as a Taylor series in the offset coordinate. The coefficients of the Taylor series are computed directly from the parameters of the medium, without using the ray parameter. For primary reflected P-waves, dynamic ray tracing has been used to compute the offset variations of the transmission coefficients, the reflection coefficient, the geometrical spreading and the anelastic attenuation. The offset variation of the transmission factor is small, while the variations in the geometrical spreading, absorption and reflection coefficient are all significant. The new approximations have been used for seismic modelling without ray tracing. The amplitude was approximated by a fourth-order polynomial in offset, the traveltime by the normal square-root approximation and the absorption factor by a similar expression. This approximate modelling was compared to dynamic ray tracing, and the results are the same for zero offset and very close for offsets less than the reflector depth.  相似文献
