The combined approach is used for studying recent tectonic activity in the central part of the East European Craton (EEC).This approach incorporates the methods of automated lineament analysis and satellite geodesy with the conventional geological mapping analysis. The space tectonic map (space image based) is reconstructed, and morphostructures that are active at the recent and present tectonic stage are delineated by processing the Landsat image mosaic. The direction and rate of horizontal displacement of crustal blocks, which is caused by deep geodynamical processes, are determined using the GPS data. A significant fraction of the total number of particles present in the atmosphere is formed by nucleation in the gas phase. Nucleation and the subsequent growth process influence both number concentration of particles and their size distribution besides chemical and optical properties of atmospheric aerosols. Sulphate aerosol nucleation mechanisms promoted by ions have been evaluated here in a tropospheric interactive chemistry-aerosol module for mass and number concentration in a global atmospheric model. The indirect radiative forcing of sulphate particles is assessed in this model; indirect radiative forcing is different for ion-induced (IIN) and ion-mediated (IMN) mechanisms. The indirect radiative forcing in 10-year simulation runs has been calculated as ?1.42?W/m2 (IIN) and ?1.54?W/m2 (IMN). The 5% emission of primary sulphate particles in simulations changes the indirect radiative forcing from ?1.42 to ?1.44?W/m2 for IIN case, and from ?1.54 to ?1.55 W/m2 for the IMN case. More precisely, owing to greater nucleation rates, IMN mechanisms produces greater cooling than the IIN mechanisms in the backdrop that both mechanisms produce almost identical distribution of CDNC in their pre-industrial runs. The inclusion of primary particles in simulations with IIN and IMN mechanisms increases both CDNC and the indirect radiative forcing. 相似文献

The reasons for the isotopic heterogeneity of the mantle are analyzed in this paper on the basis of published isotopic data. It was shown that the observed variations in the Sr, Nd, Hf, and Pb isotopic compositions of oceanic basalts cannot be explained by mixing of a finite number of homogeneous reservoirs (components). The considerable variations in the contents of Rb, Sr, Sm, Nd, Lu, Hf, U, Th, and Pb and ratios of these and other trace elements in tholeiitic basalts indicate that the chemical heterogeneity of mantle-derived rocks is inherited in part from their sources. Oceanic tholeiitic basalts show a tight correlation between the variances of Nd, Hf, Sr, and Pb isotopic ratios and the variances of respective radiogenic additions that could be accumulated in these rocks over a time period of 〈t〉 = 1.8 Gyr. This paradox clearly indicates that variations in all the mentioned isotopic systems in the mantle cannot be understood without the analysis of the geochemical heterogeneity of rocks.The close to lognormal distributions of lithophile trace elements in oceanic tholeiitic basalts and the character of correlations between them suggest that magmatic differentiation was the major mechanism of the formation of chemical heterogeneity in the mantle. The role of metasomatism in the global transport of trace elements and formation of the geochemically heterogeneous mantle is probably rather limited. Intrusive processes within the mantle could result in the development of chemical and, after a period of time, isotopic anomalies in the mantle. Simple calculations show that long-lived geochemical anomalies related to alkaline magmatism could be responsible for EM-I type isotopic anomalies, and geochemical anomalies produced in the mantle by enriched tholeiitic melts could be sources of EM-II type isotopic anomalies. The analysis of the distribution of the isotopic compositions of mantle-derived igneous rocks in various “isochron” coordinates suggested that the formation of geochemical anomalies in the mantle is a long-term process lasting for hundreds of millions of years. Nonetheless, trends approaching 4.5 Ga were never observed in such diagrams, i.e., the mantle is in general rejuvenated in all isotopic systems. Both on global and local scales, there are no mantle domains that have remained geochemically closed and isolated since the Earth’s formation. The entire mantle is involved in material exchange processes.The development of isotopic systems in the mantle was explored by means of statistical modeling accounting for the tendency of a continuous increase in the chemical heterogeneity of the mantle source and the tendency of obliteration of the isotopic heterogeneity owing to the convective mixing in the mantle. The modeling demonstrated that the character of the isotopic heterogeneity of the mantle is statistically consistent with the character of its chemical heterogeneity. The mantle isotopic anomalies HIMU, EM-I, and EM-II were generated by two simultaneous processes: the magmatic differentiation of mantle material and its not very efficient mixing. 相似文献

Comprehensive assessment of ecotoxicological situation in the Volga River basin is presented. Concentrations of organic and inorganic toxic substances are cited. Basic clinic and postmortem symptoms of intoxication in fish are described; changes in the cellular structure of their organs and tissues, as well as disturbances in hemogenesis, developing under the effect of toxic agents, are characterized. Parts of the Fe–C–N system were studied in experiments at 7.8 GPa and 1350°C. It was shown that the admixture of nitrogen extends considerably the domain of melt stability in the system at temperatures close to the Fe–Fe3C eutectic temperatures. Nitrogen solubility in cementite in equilibrium with the nitrogen- rich melt is below the detection limit of the EMPA technique applied. The metal melt is the only nitrogen concentrator (up to 4 wt % of N) in the range of compositions considered. The data obtained permit the conclusion that, in the case of complete dissolution of carbon and nitrogen, which might occur in the enriched mantle, native iron at ~250 km depth should either be completely molten or consist of a melt and carbide of iron. 相似文献
