Victoria Harbour has received substantial loadings of pollutants from industrial and municipal wastewater discharged since the 1950s. Inputs of contaminants have declined dramatically during the last two decades as a result of better controls at the source and improved wastewater treatment facilities. To assess the spatial and temporal changes of metal contaminants in sediments in Victoria Harbour, core and grab sediments were collected. The central harbour areas were generally contaminated with heavy metals. The spatial distribution of trace metals can probably be attributed to the proximity of major urban and industrial discharge points, and to the effect of tidal flushing in the harbour. In the sediment cores, the highest concentrations of trace metals were observed to have accumulated during the 1950s-1980s, corresponding with the period of rapid urban and industrial development in Hong Kong. From the late 1980s, there has been a major decline in the concentrations of trace metals, due to a reduction in industrial activities and to the enactment of wastewater pollution controls in the territory. The Pb isotopic compositions of the sediments revealed the anthropogenic inputs of Pb to the harbour. The (206)Pb/(207)Pb ratios varied from 1.154 to 1.190, which were lower than those of background geological materials in Hong Kong ((206)Pb/(207)Pb: 1.201-1.279). The data also indicated that the Pb in the harbour sediments most likely originated from mixed sources, including the leaded gasoline used in the past and other anthropogenic sources.  相似文献

苯多羧酸分子标志物法是定量水体中溶解态黑碳的常用方法,然而由于部分苯多羧酸,尤其是硝基苯多羧酸商业化标准品的缺失,采用该方法定量溶解态黑碳仍需进一步完善和优化。本文通过已有的苯多羧酸商业化标准品,建立了气相色谱-质谱联用仪(GC-MS)分离和定量 9 种缺少商业化标准品苯多羧酸的分析方法。并首次将菲-D10 作为溶解态黑碳的替代物,指示苯多羧酸法定量溶解态黑碳过程中的损失率。结果表明,该方法具有良好的重现性(RSD=10.34%),方法检出限为 0.67~5.38 ng/L。本文采用该方法分析了大亚湾表层水体溶解态黑碳的分布特征,其浓度范围为 30.38~46.19 μg/L,平均值为(38.93±6.17)μg/L,空间分布表现为从湾内到外海递减的趋势。  相似文献

By applying wavelet‐based empirical orthogonal function (WEOF) analysis to gridded precipitation (P) and empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis to gridded air temperature (T), potential evapotranspiration (PET), net precipitation (P‐PET) and runoff (Q), this paper examines the spatial, temporal and frequency patterns of Alberta's climate variability. It was found that only WEOF‐based precipitation patterns, possibly modulated by El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO), delineated Alberta into four major regions which geographically represent northern Alberta Boreal forests, southern Alberta grasslands and Aspen Parklands and the Rocky Mountains and Foothills. The leading mode of wavelet‐based precipitation variability WPC1 showed that between 1900 and 2000, a wet climate dominated northern Alberta with significant 4–8, 11 and 25‐year periodic cycles, while the second mode WPC2 showed that between 1960 and 2000, southern Alberta grasslands were characterized by decreasing precipitation, dominated by 11‐year cycles, and the last two modes WPC3 and WPC4 were characterized by 4–7 and 25‐year cycles and both delineated regions where moisture from the Pacific Ocean penetrated the Rocky Mountains, accounted for much of the sub‐alpine climate. These results show that WEOF is superior to EOF in delineating Alberta precipitation variability to sub‐regions that more closely agree with its eco‐climate regions. Further, it was found that while WPC2 could not explain runoff variations in southern Alberta, WPC1, WPC3 and WPC4 accounted for runoff variability in their respective sub‐regions. Using the GPS velocity data from 27 stations around the Eastern Kunlun fault as constraints,we first invert the slip velocities of the Eastern Kunlun fault,the north boundary fault of the Qaidam basin,the Mani-Yushu fault and the Margai Caka fault before the Kekexili MS8.1 earthquake with a 3-D elastic half-space dislocation model. The deformation field calculated from the slip movement of these faults can be considered the deformation background field of the earthquake. Based on the deformation background field with tectonic implications,we have obtained the strain field and earthquake moment accumulation field. The results show that there are two obvious high moment accumulation rate regions,one of which is the Dongdatan-Xidatan segment of the Eastern Kunlun fault where the M_S8.1 earthquake occurred in 2001.  相似文献

鲜水河断裂作为青藏高原东南部现今运动最为强烈的活动构造,因历史上一系列大震(如1786年康定7级地震、1816年炉霍7级地震和1973年炉霍7.6级地震等)的发生而一向备受关注。本文基于跨越鲜水河断裂道孚段和干宁段的两条密集型GPS剖面自2005年以来的高精度地壳运动观测资料(其中4站为连续GPS观测,23站为每年一期的非连续GPS观测),揭示出鲜水河断裂在汶川8.0级地震之前,一直保持着强烈而稳定的左旋(~10.4±1.0mm/a)兼轻微拉张(~0.3±1.2mm/a)运动。汶川地震的发生,使鲜水河断裂干宁段和道孚段近断层两侧分别发生了量值达13mm和4mm的侧向拉伸,并使干宁—道孚段发生了量值达2.5~10mm的右旋位错,因此,对其现今的左旋运动方式施加了短暂的反向抑制,但汶川地震后,鲜水河断裂的运动状况很快恢复了以往的态势。我们的研究结果表明,汶川地震的发生,使鲜水河断裂的应变积累有所消减,故在一定程度上降低了该断裂未来的地震危险性水平。另外,青藏高原东南部的GPS速度场和鲜水河断裂两侧的应变分析显示,鲜水河断裂所表现的强烈左旋差异运动是由其南侧"流滑带"的东南向逃逸远大于北侧松潘地块的轻微东南向运动所致。  相似文献

采用现代仪器地震记录和烈度资料,我们建立了用于定量估算历史地震震级和震中位置的烈度衰减模型和分析方法,并对我国西南川滇地区的历史和近代地震的震中和震级进行了重新分析.利用20世纪以来该地区十四个有仪器记录的地震(5.9≤Ms≤8.0)及相应的烈度数据,对其烈度-震级-震中距衰减关系进行标定,并建立了用于震中和震级估算的烈度衰减模型.结果表明,当震级一定时,川滇地区烈度随震中距增大而衰减的速率明显小于美国加州地区(~60%).在衰减模型基础之上,发展了确定震中区域和震级的网格搜索试算方法(GSTSL),并给出了确定震中位置和震级的等值线置信值.采用所建立的分析方法,对1786年康定地震,1850年西昌地震,1913年峨山地震和1970年通海地震进行了分析,给出了更为精确合理的结果.  相似文献

Aluminum oxide, which could be an alternative filter media for phosphorus uptake from aqueous solution, was selected as an adsorbent for the isotherm study of phosphorus uptake from aqueous solution. Batch method was adopted to investigate the adsorption behavior of phosphorus onto aluminum oxide. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Redlich–Peterson isotherms were used to analyze the experimental data by both the linear and nonlinear regression methods. The adsorption experiment was conducted at various temperatures, to choose the appropriate method and obtain the creditable adsorption parameters for phosphorus uptake studies. The results indicated that the nonlinear regression method might be a better way to compare the best‐fitting isotherm and obtain the parameters for the adsorption of phosphorus onto aluminum oxide. Both the Redlich–Peterson and the Freundlich isotherms have high coefficients of determination for the adsorption of phosphorus onto aluminum oxide at various temperatures. In addition, a new relationship between the Redlich–Peterson and the Freundlich isotherm parameters was presented.  相似文献

地壳应变率计算的传统方式是将GPS站点组成三角形进行计算,因Matlab与GMT在构造Delaunay三角网时采用不同的算法,对于同一套数据生成结果有明显的差异.通过研究Matlab与GMT构建三角网结果输出的数据格式,利用Perl语言编写程序将两套结果进行转换,实现Matlab与GMT软件在绘制Delaunay三角网时的相互转化并构建同样的三角网结果,绘图时再结合GMT的地形底图,取得了较好的表达效果.  相似文献

深源地震机理的研究有助于深入了解板块构造的驱动机制和动力学特征。对中国唯一的深震区--东北深震区的深震分布特征和震源机制解进行了综述和初步研究,初步探索了地震的发震机理、动力源以及地震的空间分布与西北太平洋俯冲板块的关系。分析结果显示:(1)震源深度在SEE NWW方向上有依次加深的趋势,而在SSW NNE方向上却没有明显变化,震源机制解的应力状态以下倾的压缩应力为主,说明中国东北深震的发生与西北太平洋板块向欧亚大陆的俯冲直接相关;(2)从日本海沟到我国东北,震源深度依次加深且几乎是从日本海沟沿直线倾斜下来,说明我国东北深震是日本海深震序列的一部分,同属于环太平洋地震带;(3)通过与东北深震区地球物理资料的对比,发现该区亚稳态橄榄石楔(Metastable Olivine Wedge,MOW)与深源地震的发生存在很好的相关性,由此推断东北深震的发生很可能是由橄榄石的相变引起的。  相似文献
