An integrated wavelet concept of physical geodesy 总被引:3,自引:1,他引:3
For the determination of the earth's gravity field many types of observations are nowadays available, including terrestrial
gravimetry, airborne gravimetry, satellite-to-satellite tracking, satellite gradio-metry, etc. The mathematical connection
between these observables on the one hand and gravity field and shape of the earth on the other is called the integrated concept
of physical geodesy. In this paper harmonic wavelets are introduced by which the gravitational part of the gravity field can
be approximated progressively better and better, reflecting an increasing flow of observations. An integrated concept of physical
geodesy in terms of harmonic wavelets is presented. Essential tools for approximation are integration formulas relating an
integral over an internal sphere to suitable linear combinations of observation functionals, i.e. linear functionals representing
the geodetic observables. A scale discrete version of multiresolution is described for approximating the gravitational potential
outside and on the earth's surface. Furthermore, an exact fully discrete wavelet approximation is developed for the case of
band-limited wavelets. A method for combined global outer harmonic and local harmonic wavelet modelling is proposed corresponding
to realistic earth's models. As examples, the role of wavelets is discussed for the classical Stokes problem, the oblique
derivative problem, satellite-to-satellite tracking, satellite gravity gradiometry and combined satellite-to-satellite tracking
and gradiometry.

Numerical models produce output with a large number of variables, grid cells and time steps. The same applies to algorithms that produce gridded datasets from sparse or abundant raw data. Further use of the resulting data products has been challenging, especially for dissemination outside the institute of origin. Due to the gradually increasing size of data products, simply downloading copies of them is becoming impossible. A gradual transition from traditional download methods to web services is therefore observed. Web services allow for on‐the‐fly access to subsets of data that were hitherto considered as indivisible granules. Here we compare the most mature candidates to serve gridded data through the web: the Open‐source Project for a Network Data Access Protocol (OPeNDAP) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) protocols. In the framework of the new Dutch National Model and Data Centre (NMDC.eu) a distributed data storage has been created by coupling OPeNDAP servers. A WCS service layer is provided for the same data. This allows us to compare OPeNDAP and WCS. Using several use cases, we compare the usability, performance and features of the two protocols. 相似文献

Recently, the increasing demand for biofuels triggered a new phase for the sugar‐alcohol sector. In Brazil, as well as in other tropical countries, this process raised worries regarding the possible direct and indirect effects of the crop's expansion on the conversion of native vegetation coverings. Therefore, the modeling of spatial‐economic surfaces, representing the potential rent variation in its spatial component, for economic activities, may be a useful tool in the decision‐making process. Hence, here we propose and present the results of a combined framework composed of two modules using the modeling platform Dinamica EGO. The first module simulates sugarcane's growth, calculating the daily response of the crop to environmental conditions during the stages of the plant's development. The second module estimates rents for sugarcane cultivation in Brazil, identifying areas where this activity would bring higher economic return, looking at simulated productivity, production costs and selling prices in a way that is spatially explicit for Brazil. Two different scenarios for production costs were tested, and results ranged from negative values to maxima of R$/ha 929 and R$/ha 1176 for standard and efficient costs of production, respectively. In this work we have developed a theoretical model that helps the interpretation of the remotely sensed thermal infrared measurements carried out over citrus orchards. A detailed analysis of the different factors which take part in the definition of the effective emissivity and temperature (observation height, viewing angle, type of soil, dimensions and separation between orange trees) is made. The model was validated under vertical observation in a citrus orchard during seven nights. In this situation we have determined that the model performs to an accuracy of about 1%. 相似文献

JPL's BlackJack receiver currently represents the most widely used geodetic grade GPS receiver for space applications. Using data from the CHAMP science mission, the in-flight performance of the BlackJack receiver has been assessed and the impact of various software updates performed during the 2.5 years since launch is described. Key aspects of the study comprise the channel allocation, anomalous data points, and the noise level of the code and carrier data. In addition, it has been demonstrated that the code measurements collected onboard the CHAMP satellite are notably affected by multipath errors in the aft-looking hemisphere, which can be attributed to cross-talk between the occultation antenna string and the primary precise orbit determination antenna. For carrier smoothed 10 s normal points, the code noise itself varies between a minimum of 5 cm at high elevations and 0.5 m (C/A) to 1.0 m (P1, P2) at 10° elevation. Carrier-phase data exhibit representative errors of 0.2 to 2.5 mm. The results of the CHAMP GPS data analysis contribute to a better understanding and possible improvement of the BlackJack receiver and support the design of optimal data editing and weighting strategies in precise orbit determination applications. 相似文献

The Western Alps are among the best studied collisional belts with both detailed structural mapping and also crustal geophysical
investigations such as the ECORS and EGT seismic profile. By contrast, the present-day kinematics of the belt is still largely
unknown due to small relative motions and the insufficient accuracy of the triangulation data. As a consequence, several tectonic
problems still remain to be solved, such as the amount of N–S convergence in the Occidental Alps, the repartition of the deformation
between the Alpine tectonic units, and the relation between deformation and rotation across the Alpine arc. In order to address
these problems, the GPS ALPES group, made up of French, Swiss and Italian research organizations, has achieved the first large-scale
GPS surveys of the Western Alps. More than 60 sites were surveyed in 1993 and 1998 with a minimum observation of 3 days at
each site. GPS data processing has been done by three independent teams using different software. The different solutions
have horizontal repeatabilities (N–E) of 4–7 mm in 1993 and 2–3 mm in 1998 and compare at the 3–5-mm level in position and
2-mm/yr level in velocity. A comparison of 1993 and 1998 coordinates shows that residual velocities of the GPS marks are generally
smaller than 2 mm/yr, precluding a detailed tectonic interpretation of the differential motions. However, these data seem
to suggest that the N–S compression of the Western Alps is quite mild (less than 2 mm/yr) compared to the global convergence
between the African and Eurasian plate (6 mm/yr). This implies that the shortening must be accomodated elsewhere by the deformation
of the Maghrebids and/or by rotations of Mediterranean microplates. Also, E–W velocity components analysis supports the idea
that E–W extension exists, as already suggested by recent structural and seismotectonic data interpretation.

We present the new MAP3 algorithms to perform static precise point positioning (PPP) from multifrequency and multisystem GNSS observations. MAP3 represents a two-step strategy in which the least squares theory is applied twice to estimate smoothed pseudo-distances, initial phase ambiguities, and slant ionospheric delay first, and the absolute receiver position and its clock offset in a second adjustment. Unlike the classic PPP technique, in our new approach, the ionospheric-free linear combination is not used. The combination of signals from different satellite systems is accomplished by taking into account the receiver inter-system bias. MAP3 has been implemented in MATLAB and integrated within a complete PPP software developed on site and named PCube. We test the MAP3 performance numerically and contrast it with other external PPP programs. In general, MAP3 positioning accuracy with low-noise GPS dual-frequency observations is about 2.5 cm in 2-h observation periods, 1 cm in 10 h, and 7 mm after 1 day. This means an improvement in the accuracy in short observation periods of at least 7 mm with respect to the other PPP programs.
