We performed a modeling study of the cloud processes in a heavy snowfall event occurring in North China on 20–22 December 2004. The nonhydrostatic Mesoscale Model (MM5) was used to carry out experiments with the Reisner-2 explicit microphysical parameterizations in four nested domains to test the sensitivity of simulated heavy snowfall to different snow intercept parameters. Results show that while the different intercept parameters do not significantly affect the accumulated snowfall amounts at the surface in either total amount or location, some microphysical characteristics of the modeled heavy snowfall event are impacted. The budget of cloud microphysics is analyzed to determine the dominant cloud processes. In the control experiment (CTL) with the snow intercept (N os) specified as a function of temperature, the primary simulated hydrometeor is snow, and its mixing ratio is an order of magnitude larger than that of the other cloud species. Relative to CTL, the experiment with a fixed intercept (CON3E6) produced lower snow mixing ratios, more cloud water and graupel mixing ratios. Among the two experiments, while snowfall is slightly smaller in CON3E6, other processes like the rate of graupel fall, condensation and evaporation of cloud water, deposition and sublimation of graupel are all larger in CON3E6 than in CTL. Among CTL, CON3E6, and two more experiments (CON2E7: with a smaller fixed intercept; and NOSQS: N os a function of snow mass mixing ratio), the budget shows that CON3E6 produces the smallest deposition and sublimation of snow, the largest deposition of cloud ice, and the largest conversion from cloud ice to snow.  相似文献

通过对位于东北亚沙尘暴天气下游的大连近7年的沙尘天气统计分析,以及应用天气学方法进行预报模型分析,揭示出大连地区沙尘的主要特征和预报着眼点.大连沙尘天气主要出现在春季,变化趋势同全国基本一致;沙尘天气的源地有4个,有三条影响路径.沙尘影响时,平均相对湿度都较低,以西北风为主.西北路径是影响大连地区产生沙尘天气最多的路径.在北路系统影响下,有三种天气类型;西路系统和西北路系统也分别有三种和四种天气类型.大连的沙尘天气预报着眼点首先要关注其上游的起沙情况,然后结合三路影响系统的预报模型进行分析;三路影响系统有不同的起沙关注区和不同的天气系统位置和移动方向.  相似文献

The occasion of the longest totality of an eclipse in the 18 yr 11^1/3 d saros cycle leads to taking stock of the scientific value of ground-based eclipse observations in this space age. Though a number of space satellites from the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Russia study the Sun, scientists at eclipses can observe the solar chromosphere and corona at higher spatial resolution, at higher temporal resolution, and at higher spectral resolution than are possible aloft. Furthermore, eclipse expeditions can transport a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment to the path of totality. Thus, for at least some years to come, solar eclipse observations will remain both scientifically valuable and cost-effective ways to study the outer solar atmosphere.  相似文献

The mid-infrared spectra of mixed vapor deposited ices of CO2 and H2O were studied as a function of both deposition temperature and warming from 15 to 100 K. The spectra of ices deposited at 15 K show marked changes on warming beginning at 60 K. These changes are consistent with CO2 segregating within the ice matrix into pure CO2 domains. Ices deposited at 60 and 70 K show a greater degree of segregation, as high as 90% for 1:4 CO2:H2O ice mixtures deposited at 70 K. As the ice is warmed above 80 K, preferential sublimation of the segregated CO2 is observed. The kinetics of the segregation process is also examined. The segregation of the CO2 as the ice is warmed corresponds to temperatures at which the structure of the water ice matrix changes from the high density amorphous phase to the low density amorphous phase. We show how these microstructural changes in the ice have a profound effect on the photochemistry induced by ultraviolet irradiation. These experimental results provide a framework in which observations of CO2 on the icy bodies of the outer Solar System can be considered.  相似文献

Cyberbullying is an emerging social issue along with the prevalence of social media. Previous studies have used extensive surveys or firsthand data primarily from conventional social networks11 Social media whose users primarily use their real name and provide identifiable information, although some might use pseudonyms (e.g., Facebook and Twitter).View all notes (e.g., Twitter) to study cyberbullying, which often ignores the factor of anonymity and location. Considering the sensitive nature and contagious effect of cyberbullying, a better understanding of the spatiotemporal pattern in cyberbullying is sorely needed to develop effective policies to combat this toxic social behavior. Grounded in the dramaturgy theory and the emerging literature on technoself, this study aims to compare cyberbullying in the anonymous social media (Yik Yak) with the conventional social media (Twitter) and explore its spatiotemporal patterns. A support vector machine is used to help identify records with bullying content. Average nearest neighbor, kernel density, and Ripley's K-function are used to explore the spatiotemporal patterns of cyberbullying behavior. We have found that cyberbullying is more likely to occur in anonymous than conventional social media. We also detected a clustering pattern corresponding to the student population, which can be explained by the dramaturgy theory and recent studies on technoself. In addition to making suggestions to help reduce cyberbullying in the future, this article also sheds light on the need for future studies.  相似文献

将工业化视为投入,城镇化视为产出,基于中国各省份2001~2012年的工业化、城镇化和污染物排放数据,测算了传统效率值、环境效率值及效率指数,据此分析各省份工业化与城镇化的关系及其演变。研究发现:全国总体层面的城镇化传统效率值和环境效率值均在下降。分地区来看,东部地区通过工业化来推进城镇化的实施空间有限,中部地区需要调整发展方式,西部地区尚有一定余地。在城镇化过程中,工业化存在前期“负向规律机制”和后期“正向反馈机制”两种作用。为实现城镇化低碳发展,需要转变工业和经济发展方式,改善对外贸易结构,同时提高环境污染治理投资效果。  相似文献
