The ground water flow path of the coastal area in the Yellow Sea, Korea, was interpreted using both the cross‐correlation analysis of hydraulic properties and the principal component analysis (PCA) of ground water chemistry. Data was obtained from observation wells in the underground liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cavern constructed in the coastal area of Pyeongtaek. Cross‐correlation results showed that the operating pressure became more influenced on artificial factors for the variation of the groundwater level of the study area (45–66% of correlation coefficient) even though its affecting area was limited to the region with fractures or faults, and also showed that the delay time from the variation of operating pressure to the fluctuation of ground water level were relatively long periods (28–31 days). Three hydrogeochemical events (encrusted cement dissolution, host rock dissolution, and seawater intrusion), which were dominantly influenced on ground water quality, could be induced from the result of PCA. Quantitative evaluation for these events using the mixed equation with principal component scores suggest that the dissolution of encrusted cement materials was the predominant factor (39·0% of the total mixed proportion) to change the chemical composition of the seepage water during the ground water flow from the observation wells to the cavern. Integration of the statistical results also imply that ground water flow and hydrogeochemistry were predominantly affected by artificial factors such as cavern operation pressure and dissolution of encrusted cement materials, which were interdependent factors on the observation wells with high cross‐correlation coefficients and pH. GRBs are the most energetic combination of jets and disks in the Universe. Observations made using Swift reveal a complex temporal and spectral behaviour. We propose that this behaviour can be used to refine the GRB classification scheme and align it better with progenitor types. The early (prompt) X-ray light curve can be well described by an exponential which relaxes into a power law. The transition time between the exponential and the power law gives a well-defined timescale, T p , for the burst duration which we use with the spectral index of the prompt emission, β p , and the prompt power law decay index, α p to define four classes of burst: short, slow, fast and soft. Short bursts tend to decline more gradually than long bursts. Most GRBs display a second “afterglow” component which can be fitted in a similar way to the early emission. During the decay of this second component, few GRBs show jet breaks in accord with pre-Swift predictions. However, the start time of the final afterglow decay, T a , correlates with the peak of the prompt γ-ray emission spectrum, E peak, in an analogous way to the Ghirlanda relation found between optical “jet-break” times, t j , and E peak. These data are inconsistent with simple achromatic jet-break models casting doubt on the reliability of using late temporal breaks to determine the jet collimation. 相似文献

Results of numerical simulation of currents in the western North Tropical Pacific Ocean by using a barotropic primitive equation model with fine horizontal resolution agreed well with observations and showed that the Mindanao Cyclonic Eddy located north of the equator and east of Mindanao Island exists during most of the year with monthly (and large seasonal) variations in scope . strength and central location . In June , an anticyclonic eddy occurs northeast of Halmahera Island, strengthens to maximum in August , exists until October and then disappears . Data on three recently discovered satellites of Uranus are used to determine basic evolutional parameters of their orbits: the extreme eccentricities and inclinations, as well as the circulation periods of the pericenter arguments and of the longitudes of the ascending nodes. The evolution is mainly investigated by analytically solving Hill’s double-averaged problem for the Uranus-Sun-satellite system, in which Uranus’s orbital eccentricity e U and inclination i U to the ecliptic are assumed to be zero. For the real model of Uranus’s evolving orbit with e U≠0 and i U≠0, we refine the evolutional parameters of the satellite orbits by numerically integrating the averaged system. Having analyzed the configuration and dynamics of the orbits of Uranus’s five outer satellites, we have revealed the possibility of their mutual crossings and obtained approximate temporal estimates. 相似文献
