The masses of a pair of stars in the visual binary system have been estimated. The angle between the orbital plane of the stars and the plane of the sky has been taken into account. Inclination of the major axes of the orbits of the stars with the line of interaction between the orbital plane and the plane of the sky has also been considered. Similarity solutions, using Planck's diffusion approximation, for propagation of strong plane shock waves in an optically thin grey atmosphere of uniform density are obtained. Solutions for the ratio of specific heats 4/3 and several values of the radiation parameter are compared with those in the absence of any radiation. In Bengal basin the subcrop Gondwana sediments occur in N-S trending elongated grabens originated largely by the graben forming tectonisms of the Gondwanaland which overlie the crystalline basement in the sub-surface in an intra-cratonic setup. So far five wells in shelf part of Bengal Basin have penetrated Gondwana sediments, out of which three wells i.e.,G1, G3 and G2 have been drilled up to Precambrian basement. In subcrop Gondwana graben, glacial to glacio-fluvial Talchir Formation of Early Permian age was deposited above the basement. Early Permian Barakar Formation overlies Talchir Formaion. Flood basin model of deposition is postulated for this coal rich unit. In the absence of Barren Measure Formation, coal bearing Raniganj Formation overlies Barakar Formation. The fluvial set up changed over to arid environment during deposition of Panchet/Supra Panchet Formation (undifferentiated). The deposition of Panchet Formation is followed by eruption of doleritic rocks in both subcrop and outcrop Bengal Gondwana whereas lamprophyres are absent in subcrop of Bengal Gondwana. Rifting as well as pull-apart basin model due to transtensional movement is postulated for Gondwana basins. Detailed lithostratigraphic analysis of the core / cutting samples of the Gondwana sediments reveal that the sediments are mainly fine to coarse grained, poorly sorted sandstone. These sediments are characterized as poor reservoir and needs some treatment for permeability enhancement for hydrocarbon production. 相似文献

新疆黄土-古土壤序列环境磁学参数的变化机理及其气候意义仍存在争议.本文选择天山北麓的中梁黄土剖面,系统开展了低温和常温下环境磁学参数的测试与研究,测量包括室温的磁化率与饱和磁化强度,以及磁化率与饱和剩余磁化强度的低温变化.结果发现,该剖面黄土和古土壤样品的磁性矿物主要由磁铁矿与磁赤铁矿组成,不含任何粒级成壤形成的超顺磁矿物颗粒,其磁化率信号主要记录了粉尘磁性矿物含量变化,较高的磁化率指示较强的风动力状况或者较近的风尘源区,新疆黄土的这种环境磁学"风尘输入模式"可用来重建干旱区的风动力强弱变化. 相似文献

The Dst (Disturbance storm time) index is a measurement of earth geomagnetic activity and is widely used to characterize the
geomagnetic storm. It is calculated on the basis of the average value of the horizontal component of the earth’s magnetic
field at four observatories, namely, Hermanus (33.3° south, 80.3° in magnetic dipole latitude and longitude), Kakioka (26.0°
north, 206.0°), Honolulu (21.0° north, 266.4°), and San Juan (29.9° north, 3.2°) and is expressed in nano-Teslas. The strength
of the low-latitude surface magnetic field is inversely proportional to the energy content of the ring current around earth
caused by solar protons and electrons, which increases during geomagnetic storms. Thus a negative Dst index value indicates
that the earth’s magnetic field is weakened which is specifically the case during solar storms. Predicting Dst index is a
difficult task due to its structural complexity involving a variety of underlying plasma mechanism. For characterizing and
forecasting this complex time series, a formal model must be established to identify the specific pattern of the series. Persistent
demand for a fool proof model of Geomagnetic Dst index prompted us to investigate the Dst Time Series mechanism with a very
recent technique called Visibility Algorithm and it is observed that the Dst time series follows the same model that of a
Stochastic Fractional Brownian motion having long range correlation. 相似文献

We consider a scenario where the interior spacetime, described by a heat conducting fluid sphere is matched to a Vaidya metric
in higher dimensions. Interestingly we get a class of solutions, where following heat radiation the boundary surface collapses
without the appearance of an event horizon at any stage and this happens with reasonable properties of matter field. The non-occurrence
of a horizon is due to the fact that the rate of mass loss was exactly counterbalanced by the fall of boundary radius. Evidently
this poses a counter example to the so-called cosmic censorship hypothesis. Two explicit examples of this class of solutions
are also given and it is observed that the rate of collapse is delayed with the introduction of extra dimensions. The work
extends to higher dimensions our previous investigation in 4D. 相似文献
