Atmospheric Correction of SeaWiFS Data for the Retrieval of Suspended Sediment in East China Coastal Waters

The data of SeaWiFS (Sea-Viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor), installed on SeaStar, has been used to generate SSC (suspended sediment concentration) of complex and turbid coastal waters in China. In view of the problems of the SeaDAS (SeaWiFS Data Analysis System) algorithm applied to China coastal waters, a new atmospheric correction algorithm is discussed, developed, and used for the SSC of East China coastal waters. The advantages of the new algorithm are described through the comparison of the restdts from different algorithms.     

Effects of organochlorine compounds on cytochrome P450 aromatase activity in an immortal sea turtle cell line

Many classes of environmental contaminants affect the reproductive function of animals through interactions with the endocrine system. The primary components affected by endocrine active compounds (EACs) are the steroid receptors and the enzymes responsible for steroidogenesis. This study sought to develop an in vitro model for assessing EAC effects in sea turtles by examining their ability to alter cytochrome P450 aromatase (CYP19) activity. Aromatase is the enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. This enzyme is critical in the sexual differentiation of reptiles which demonstrate temperature-dependent sex determination. An immortal testis cell line GST-TS from a green sea turtle was grown in culture at 30 degrees C in RPMI 1640 media. The cells were exposed to three known aromatase inducers; dexamethasone (Dex), 8Br-cyclic AMP, or human chronic gonadotropin (HCG) and one aromatase inhibitor 4-androstenol-dione (4-OHA). In addition, the GST-TS cells were exposed to 0.1-30 microM atrazine and 3-100 microM 4,4'-DDE. The inducing compounds that have been shown to increase aromatase activity in other systems failed to induce aromatase activity in the GST-TS cells, yet exposure to the inhibiting compound, 4-OHA, did result in a significant reduction. Atrazine (0.1, 1.0 and 10 microM) significantly induced aromatase activity following a 24 h exposure, and 4,4'-DDE inhibited the activity but only at cytotoxic concentrations (100 microM). Based on these results, this in vitro model can be useful in examining the endocrine effects of EACs in sea turtles.     

从太平洋底发现外星撞击地球的痕迹

通过对偶然发现于太平洋M₁₄岩心中的微玻璃陨石的显微特征和物质成分的全面研究,首次发现了撞击坑反弹结构、亲铁元素铱、锇等异常、不定形碳、未饱和无环碳氢化合物、有机质及多种挥发分子,根据这些痕迹和证据肯定了发生于大约2.14～2.30MaBP的一次外星撞击地球事件,并推测撞击地球的外星可能为一彗星碎片;另根据岩心中微玻璃陨石层同该岩心中地磁事件和地磁倒转的联系,进一步论证了这次外星撞击地球事件的发生.最后,笔者提出了发生撞击事件的时代──2.14～2.30MaBP可作为深入研究和划分地质历史中第三纪-第四纪界线的重要参考时代,有待科学家通过更多的发现和长期研究加以验证.     

登陆珠江三角洲热带气旋暴雨的中尺度特征

利用逐时雨量分布图，对登陆珠江三角洲的热带气旋暴雨尺度特征进行分类，对比和合成分析，实际资料证实了大范围的热带气旋暴雨是由若干中尺度雨团，雨带造成的，纯热带气旋环流形成的中尺度雨团、雨带具有与热带气旋云带大体一致的分布特征；有冷空气与之配合时，热带气旋环流北缘形成东西向的中尺度雨带；热带气旋登陆后的３ｈ可能出现最大中尺度雨团；随热带气旋环流的填塞减弱，中尺度雨团也逐渐减弱消失；山地对中尺度雨团的移     

中国陆架海绿石分布特征及其意义

本文根据实际资料,简要概括了中国大陆架海绿石的分布规律和形成环境。海绿石的富集区与氧化环境,粗粒沉积和残留沉积区相一致。该研究为恢复古沉积环境提供了依据。     

东亚岛弧地形横剖面与板块运动

通过对东亚岛弧横剖面形态的系统分析，并结合弧前的构造应力的分析，作者认为，东亚岛弧形成于板块东移的构造环境中，横剖面形态存在两种基本类型即内缓外陡型和内陡外缓型，这两种不同的横剖面具有不同的弧前应力，前者表现弧前挤压，后者表现弧前引张，这反映地貌形态与构造应力之间的密切关系。     

广西沿海台风暴潮数值模拟试验

本文采用动力数值计算方法,建立了广西沿海台风暴潮数值模式,模拟了8次不同程度袭击广西沿海的台风暴潮过程,模拟效果较好,计算值与实测值基本一致,同时,还对模型进行了敏感性分析,结果表明,该模型对台风各要素的反应属中性偏上,符合预报技术对敏感度的要求.     

赤道太平洋的环流

一.引 言 赤道太平洋上层海洋环流的主要特征已被建立十多年了。1942年斯维尔德鲁普等人描述了中太平洋的表面流:往西流的北和南赤道流以及往东流的北赤道逆流。随后,南赤道逆流也被用表面动力高度图表示出来(Reia,1961),Cromwell等人(1954)发现了赤道潜流,从而对上述环流的描述进行了主要修正。Hisard和Rual(1970)发现了赤道潜流下面     

弯睾鲫吸虫[Carassotrema flecterotestis(Zhukov,1971)comb.nov.]及其毛蚴发育观察

本文对取自台湾海峡棱鮻 (Lizacarinatus)消化道的弯睾软穴吸虫 (HapalotremaflecterotestisZhukov, 1971)进行重新描述,并对其毛蚴的体外发育进行观察.根据Yamaguti(1971)区分单孔科 (Haploporidae)和叉盘科 (Waretrematidae)的标准,同意李敏敏(1984)将其从单孔科移出并入叉盘科.在与叉盘科已知属比较后,我们发现该吸虫除睾丸形状外,其他主要特征与鲫吸虫属 (CarassotremaPark, 1938)的相似.因此,我们拟将其作为后者的同物异名,并将该吸虫重新命名为弯睾鲫吸虫 [Caras sotremaflecterotestis(Zhukov, 1971)comb. nov. ].实验结果表明:在室温 7~24℃(均值为 15. 3℃)条件下,其虫卵从单个卵细胞到毛蚴孵出共需 12d.
