We present a result of cross-correlating the Infrared Astronomical Satellite Faint Source Catalogue with the spectroscopic catalogues of galaxies in the Fourth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the Final Data Release of the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey (2dFGRS) and the Second Data Release of the 6dF Galaxy Survey. We have identified 324 ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) including 190 newly discovered ULIRGs, and two hyperluminous infrared galaxies. Adding these new ULIRGs, we increase the number of known ULIRGs by about 30 per cent. The reliability of the cross-correlation is estimated using the likelihood ratio method. The incompleteness of our sample introduced by the identification procedure in this study is estimated to be about 5 per cent. Our sample covers the redshift range of z = 0.037–0.517 with a median redshift of , which is larger than that of the sample of previously known ULIRGs. 相似文献

Carbon emissions from forest fires are considered an important factor of ecosystem carbon balance and global climate change. Carbon emissions from Japanese red pine stands (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) burned by crown fire were estimated at Mt. Palgong in Daegu Metropolitan City, and crown fuel characteristics, including crown bulk density, crown base height, and fuel moisture content of Japanese red pine, were analyzed. Total biomass combusted was calculated by subtracting the biomass of burned stands from that of unburned stands exhibiting similar stand structures and site environments. Ten trees in the unburned area and five trees in the burned area were cut by using direct harvesting techniques to estimate crown layer biomass. All biomass sampled was oven-dried and weighed. The dry weight ratios of stems, branches, and needles were 70%, 21%, and 9%, respectively. The available fuel load susceptible to combustion during the crown fire spread was equivalent to 55% of the crown layer biomass. The crown bulk density was 0.24 kg/ m 3 on average. The estimated amount of CO 2 was 23,454 kg CO 2 /ha for the crown layer. These results will be useful for calculating the amount of CO 2 emitted from forest fires and for developing a forest carbon model in P. densiflora forests. 相似文献

Mo-related Adakitic Granitoids from Non-island-arc Setting: Jecheon Pluton of South Korea 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Abstract. The Jecheon granitoids, having an elongated shape of NE-SW 27 km and NW-SE 13 km (190 km2 ), are composed mostly of magnetite-series hornblende-biotite granodiorite and biotite granite, which intrude into the Neoproterozoic metamor-phic and Paleozoic sedimentary rocks of the Ogcheon Belt. The granitoids have Triassic-Jurassic age of 202.7 ±1.9 Ma with very high 87 Sr/86 Sr initial ratio of 0.7140. The granodiorite has 63–69 % SiO2 , 15.1–17.3 % Al2 O3 , <1.6 % MgO, 6–15 ppm Y and Sr/Y ratios of 24–76, and is depleted in HREE. Biotite granite together, the Jecheon pluton has adakitic characteristics, which are unique in a continental tectonic setting. The granitoids may have been generated by partial melting of an older adakitic granitoid of I-type basement, or by separation of early crystallized garnet and hornblende from an anatectic melt. 相似文献

Recently, a mesh-size insensitive structural stress definition (Battelle structural stress method) has been proposed. This method gives a stress state at a weld toe with a relatively coarse mesh, such as up to 2t (t=plate thickness) or irregular mesh shapes. The structural stress definition is based on the elementary structural mechanics theory and provides an effective measure of a stress state in front of a weld toe. In this present study, a fatigue strength assessment was carried out for a side shell connection of a container vessel using both the hot spot stress and the structural stress methods. A consistent approach to computing extrapolated hot spot stress for design purposes based on converged hot spot stresses is described and current fatigue guidance is evaluated. Fatigue strength predicted by the two methods, i.e. hot spot stress and structural stress approaches, at hot spot locations of a typical ship structure are compared and discussed. 相似文献
