Scattering of plane harmonic SH, P, SV and Rayleigh waves by several inclusions of arbitrary shape, completely embedded into an elastic half-space, is considered. Perfect bonding between the half-space and the inclusions is assumed. The problem is investigated for linear, isotropic and homogeneous elastic materials. The displacement field is evaluated throughout the elastic medium so that the continuity conditions between the half-space and the inclusions are satisfied in mean-square sense. Numerical results of the surface displacement field are evaluated for single and two elliptic inclusions. The results show the following: (a) presence of a subsurface inhomogeneity may lead to large amplifications of the surface ground motion; (2) different surface displacement patterns emerge for different incident waves; (3) the presence of an additional inclusion may change significantly the surface displacement response of a single inclusion; (4) the surface motion extremes strongly depend upon (i) angle of incidence; (ii) frequency of incident field; (iii) embedment depth of the inclusions; (iv) separation distance between the inclusions; (v) material properties of the half-space and the inclusions; and (vi) location of observation point on the surface of the half-space.  相似文献

Fifty-two samples of Miocene pelitic sedimentary rock from outcrops on Medvednica,Moslavacka Gora and Psunj Mts.,and boreholes in the Sava Depression and the Pozega Sub-depression were investigated.These sediments formed in different marine(with normal and reduced salinity),brackish,and freshwater environments,depending on the development stage of the Pannonian Basin System.Carbonate minerals,clay minerals and quartz are the main constituents of all pelitic sedimentary rocks,except in those from Moslavacka Gora Mt in which carbonate minerals are not present.Feldspars,pyrite,opal-CT,and hematite are present as minor constituents in some rocks.Besides calcite,dependent on the sedimentary environment and diagenetic changes,high-magnesium calcite,aragonite,dolomite and ankerite/Cadolomite are also present.Smectite or illite-smectite is the main clay minerals in the samples.Minor constituents,present in almost all samples,are detrital illite and kaolinite.In some samples chlorite is also present in a low amount.Major elements,trace elements and rare earth elements patterns used in provenance analysis show that all analysed samples have a composition similar to the values of the upper continental crust(UCC).The contents of major and trace elements as well as SiO_2/Al_2O_3,K_2O/Al_2O_3,Na_2O/K_2O,Eu/Eu~*,La/Sc,Th/Sc,La/Co Th/Co,Th/Cr,Ce/Ce~* and LREE/HREE ratios,show that the analysed pelitic sedimentary rocks were formed by weathering of different types of mostly acidic(silicic),i.e.felsic rocks.  相似文献

—?Modal summation technique is used to generate 5000, three-component theoretical seismograms of Love and Rayleigh waves, assuming modified PREM (PREM-C) and AK135F global earth models. The focal depth h and the geometrical fault parameters are randomly chosen so as to uniformly cover possible source mechanisms and obtain uniform distribution of log h in the interval 1?h?h?M s of the form:¶ΔM s (h)=0 forh< 20km, ΔM s (h)=0.314log(h)-0.409 for 20≠h< 60km, ΔM s (h)=1.351log(h)-2.253 for 60≠h< 100km, ΔM s (h)=0.400log(h)-0.350 for 100≠h< 600km .¶After applying the above correction, the relationship between the surface wave magnitude and the scalar seismic moment for the observational data set significantly improves, and becomes independent of the source depth. In relation to CTBT, no depth correction is needed for M S when the m b ???M S discriminant is computed, because the proposed correction is zero for earthquakes with foci above 20?km.  相似文献

A hybrid technique consisting of modal summation and subsequent finite differences modelling is applied for the computation of synthetic accelerograms along a profile crossing the city of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Assuming the source geometry is known, the amplification properties of the underlying soil may be determined by comparison of synthetics and their response spectra computed for a bedrock model with the ones obtained under the assumption of a realistic laterally varying local model. The peak ground acceleration is larger by a factor of up to 3.5 than the value obtained for the bedrock model. The amplification of the response spectra is most prominent for frequencies below 2 Hz, and increases sharply to the SW from the mapped fault running through the centre of the city.  相似文献

Scattering of elastic waves by two dimensional multilayered dipping sediments of arbitrary shape embedded in an elastic half-sapce is investigated by using a bondary method. The displancement field is evaluated throughout the elastic media for both steady state and transient incident SH waves. The unknown scattered field is expressed in terms of wave functions which satisfy the equation of motion, traction-free boundary condition and appropariate radiation conditions. The transient response is constructed from the steady state solution by using the fast Fourier transform technique. The numerical results presented demonstrate that scattering of waves by subsurface irregularities may cause locally very large amplification of surface ground motion. The motion can be affected greatly by the scattered surface waves in the sediments. The results clearly indicate that the surface ground motion depends upon a number of parameters present in the problem, such as frequency and the angle of incidence of the incoming wave, impedance contrast between the layers and location of the observation point.  相似文献

More than ten years ago, the Geophysical Institute initiated the installation of a geomagnetic observatory in Croatia. Over the past decade, extensive surveys and studies have been conducted in order to determine the proper location for the observatory. Finally, in 2012, the observatory was established in Lonjsko Polje. This paper presents the first data recorded in the period 2012.5-2015.0. Also presented are the technical aspects and data processing techniques of this remotely operated observatory. Analysis of data quality and comparison with data from the surrounding INTERMAGNET observatories is discussed in detail. Although remote observatories cannot provide the ideal environment for magnetometers, the obtained results accentuate the potential of the new observatory to provide high-quality data. The establishment of this observatory paves the way for scientific and professional development of geomagnetism in Croatia.  相似文献

During a three year-period, the participants of a NATO Science for Peace project performed ambient noise measurements inside buildings in four European countries. This paper reports the results relevant to reinforced concrete (RC) buildings with height in the range 1–20 floors. The total number of such buildings surveyed is 244. The most striking feature is the similarity of the height-period relationships in the four countries, which allowed the treatment of the all measurements as a single database. We found no significant correlation with other variables, and calculated a regression that is very similar to other empirical height-period relationships and quite different from code provisions and theoretical models.  相似文献

Input and distribution of linear alkylbenzenesulphonates (LAS) in the highly stratified Krka River estuary were studied during 1990–1991. Determinations of individual LAS homologues in wastewater and estuarine waters were performed using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with spectrofluorimetric detection. The investigated municipal wastewaters contained LAS homologues with alkyl-chain lengths from C10 to C13 at total concentrations in the range of 285–1041 μg l−1. Total LAS input via wastewaters into ibenik Harbour, the most polluted part of the estuary, was estimated at 12.6 kg day−1. A relatively large fraction of total LAS, depending on the wastewater particle load, was found in particulate form (11–59%). Distributions of the individual homologues in dissolved and particulate fractions were rather different, the latter being significantly enriched in higher homologues (C12, C13). The LAS concentration in the estuary was quite low (0.2–23.9 μg l−1) which was caused chiefly by a strong and fast dilution process. However, characteristic vertical distribution of LAS in the estuarine water column indicated that the wastewater plume spreads almost exclusively in the upper (brackish) layer. The concentration maxima were observed in the surface microlayer and at the brackish water/seawater boundary.  相似文献
