The Plastic Scintillator Detector(PSD) onboard the DArk Matter Particle Explorer(DAMPE)is designed to measure cosmic ray charge(Z) and to act as a veto detector for gamma ray identification.To fully exploit the charge identification potential of PSD and to enhance its capability to identify gamma ray events, we develop an alignment method for the PSD. The path length of a given track in the volume of a PSD bar is derived taking into account the shift and rotation alignment corrections. By examining energy spectra of corner-passing events and fully contained events, position shifts and rotations of all PSD bars are obtained, and are found to be on average about 1 mm and 0.0015 radian respectively. To validate the alignment method, we introduce artificial shifts and rotations of PSD bars into the detector simulation.These shift and rotation parameters can be recovered successfully by the alignment procedure. As a result of the PSD alignment procedure, the charge resolution of the PSD is improved from 4% to 8%, depending on the nuclei. 相似文献

We study multi-wavelength variability in BL Lacertae object PKS 2155-304 in the frame of the time dependent one-zone synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) model, where stochastic particle acceleration is taken into account. In this model, a homogeneously and isotropically spherical structure is assumed, the Fokker–Planck type equation which describes the evolution of the particles energy is numerically solved, and the synchrotron and self-Compton components from the spherical blob are calculated. Our results can reproduce observed spectra energy distribution (SED) and give definite predictions for the flux and spectral variability of PKS 2155-304. We find that particle injection rate, magnetic field and Doppler factor in the acceleration zone are important parameters for explaining its flaring behaviour. 相似文献

In the current study, the existence of periodic orbits around a fixed homogeneous cube is investigated, and the results have
powerful implications for examining periodic orbits around non-spherical celestial bodies. In the two different types of symmetry
planes of the fixed cube, periodic orbits are obtained using the method of the Poincaré surface of section. While in general
positions, periodic orbits are found by the homotopy method. The results show that periodic orbits exist extensively in symmetry
planes of the fixed cube, and also exist near asymmetry planes that contain the regular Hex cross section. The stability of
these periodic orbits is determined on the basis of the eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix. This paper proves that the homotopy
method is effective to find periodic orbits in the gravity field of the cube, which provides a new thought of searching for
periodic orbits around non-spherical celestial bodies. The investigation of orbits around the cube could be considered as
the first step of the complicated cases, and helps to understand the dynamics of orbits around bodies with complicated shapes.

For the rising branch of Cycle 22, 1987 January—1989 November, we plot the daily total flux S at each of the five wavelengths 2.0, 3.4, 6.0, 10.7 and 21.2 cm against the apparent sunspot area of the dominant sunspot Ay and find that, for several large active areas, the locus is located below the average regression line, and the increase in the radio flux is insignificant compared to the increase in the sunspot area. 相似文献
