Scenarios of nonlinear wave transformation in the coastal zone   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
On the basis of field experiments and numerical modeling, we show that coastal zones are classifiable according to manifestations of wind wave nonlinearity, which herein is recognized as periodic energy exchange between the first and second nonlinear wave harmonics depending on the average bottom slope and the Iribarren and Ursell numbers. The results offer a basis for developing vulnerability criteria for the coastal zone taking into account its nonlinear dynamics.  相似文献

Experimental proofs of the existence of the formation and destruction mechanisms of solar proton belts in the inner magnetosphere at a rapid change in the penetration boundary of solar protons are presented. An analysis of the measurements of solar protons and alpha-particles on board the Coronas-F low-altitude polar satellite during the magnetic storms in October–November 2003 is performed. During this period, formation and destruction of the belts of solar cosmic rays was observed several times. The compression of the magnetosphere during a storm makes possible the direct penetration of solar protons deep into the inner magnetosphere. The proton trajectories outside the penetration boundary are open, and the preliminary captured particles can easily leave the magnetosphere. During the recovery of the magnetospheric configuration, when the penetration boundary goes away from the Earth, the solar protons and alpha-particles with relatively low velocity of the magnetic drift remain stably captured, whereas the particles of higher energies follow the motion of the penetration boundary. That is why the energy range of the captured protons is limited from above in contrast to the effect of injection during ineffective SC in the low-energy region.  相似文献

This work demonstrates the possibility of magnetic-field topology investigations using microwave polarimetric observations. We study a solar flare of GOES M1.7 class that occurred on 11 February, 2014. This flare revealed a clear signature of spatial inversion of the radio-emission polarization sign. We show that the observed polarization pattern can be explained by nonthermal gyrosynchrotron emission from the twisted magnetic structure. Using observations of the Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager, Nobeyama Radio Observatory, Radio Solar Telescope Network, and Solar Dynamics Observatory, we have determined the parameters of nonthermal electrons and thermal plasma and identified the magnetic structure where the flare energy release occurred. To reconstruct the coronal magnetic field, we use nonlinear force-free field (NLFFF) and potential magnetic-field approaches. Radio emission of nonthermal electrons is simulated by the GX Simulator code using the extrapolated magnetic field and the parameters of nonthermal electrons and thermal plasma inferred from the observations; the model radio maps and spectra are compared with observations. We have found that the potential-magnetic-field approach fails to explain the observed circular polarization pattern; on the other hand, the Stokes-\(V\) map is successfully explained by assuming nonthermal electrons to be distributed along the twisted magnetic structure determined by the NLFFF extrapolation approach. Thus, we show that the radio-polarization maps can be used for diagnosing the topology of the flare magnetic structures where nonthermal electrons are injected.  相似文献

The correlation between the polar cap geomagnetic variations (H-traces) and the changes of the azimuthal (YSE) and vertical (ZSE) components of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) during undisturbed periods is examined. It is shown that peak-to-peak correlation between YSE and geomagnetic horizontal component variations may be generally observed in the daytime cusp region, independently of the magnitude and polarity of the ZSE. The existence of the DP3 disturbances associated with the northward component ZSE > 0 is confirmed. It is shown that the disturbances due to the vertical component of the IMF dominate in the region near the pole. In so far as the southward component of the IMF generates both polar cap disturbances and geomagnetic substorms, the disturbances in the region near the pole, associated with ZSE < 0, may be regarded as a precursor of a substorm. On this basis a new index of the polar cap magnetic activity PCL, characterizing the changeability of the magnetic field is proposed. It is shown that the increase of the PCL index is followed in 1–2 hr by a substorm in 70% of events considered.  相似文献

In the present paper, we used the Hori-Deprit method to construct the averaged Hamiltonian of the two-planetary problem accurate to the second order of a small parameter, the generating function of the transform, the change of variables formulas, and the right-hand sides of the equations in average elements. The evolution of the two-planet Sun-Jupiter-Saturn system was investigated by numerical integration over 10 billion years. The motion of the planets has an almost periodic character. The eccentricities and inclinations of Jupiter’s and Saturn’s orbits remain small but different from zero. The short-term disturbances remain small over the entire period considered in the study.  相似文献

The stratigraphic distribution of microfossils and macroscopic fossil biota in Vendian deposits of the South Ladoga region (northwestern East European Platform) is analyzed. In the sequence of the Shotkusa- 1 well, three taxonomically heterogeneous microfossil assemblages are distinguished: two of them refer to the Redkinian age (Starorusskaya Fm.) and one to the Kotlinian age (Vasileostrovskaya Fm.). Deposits of the Starorusskaya Fm. contain Redkinian biota of macroscopic fossils, of which the most characteristic representatives are Chuaria circularis, Doushantuophyton lineare, Morania zinkovi, Orbisiana simplex, and Redkinia spinosa. These new findings expand the paleontological characteristics of Upper Vendian deposits, also providing additional criteria for distinguishing the Redkinian horizon in the northwestern East European Platform.  相似文献

We suggest a new mechanism for the superoutbursts in SU UMa binaries, in which the increase in the accretion rate resulting in a superoutburst is associated with the formation of a spiral “precessional” wave in the inner parts of the disk, where gas-dynamical perturbations are negligible. The existence of such waves was suggested by us previously. The results of three-dimensional gas-dynamical simulations have shown that a considerable increase in the accretion rate (by up to an order of magnitude) is associated with the formation of the precessional wave. The features of the precessional spiral wave can explain both the energy release in the superoutburst and all its observational manifestations. One distinguishing feature of superoutbursts in SU UMa-type stars is the formation of a “superhump” in the light curve. Our model reproduces well both the formation of a superhump and its observational features, including its period, which is up to 3–7% longer than the orbital period, and the detectability of the superhump independent of the orbital inclination of the binary.  相似文献

The studies conducted in 1991–2004 by scientists of the A.M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry yielded data on the structures of the surface air layer (to a height of 20 m) and both subinversion and inversion layers (to heights of from 800 m to 1 km), where arid aerosol is transported. One of the main objectives of the 2007 experiment was to record the space-vortex structures within a layer of 30–700 m that directly provide the removal and long-range transport of fine-dispersed (<5 µm) desert aerosol. This paper describes the organization of the Khar-Gzyr 2007 experiment (Black Lands, 2007) to study the convective removal of arid aerosol from desertificated lands, and it presents some data obtained from the remote sensing of the atmospheric boundary layer with a sodar network in the course of this experiment. The sodar network, which was developed to study a spatial structure of coherent vortices, included three identical minisodars (with carrier frequencies of 3.8 kHz) located at the apices of a triangle, each side of which was about 3.5 km, and a sodar (with a carrier frequency of 1.7 kHz). The vertical profiles of the three wind-velocity components and the characteristics of air temperature fluctuations were determined. The procedure of identifying coherent vortex structures is described. The variations in the vertical and horizontal wind-velocity components and the scales characteristic of such structures are estimated.  相似文献
