Zusammenfassung Druck-Lösungserscheinungen sind nicht auf stylolithische Kontakte beschränkt. Die Mehrzahl der Druck-Lösungsflächen ist glatt und nicht als solche erkennbar. Bei Abwesenheit von Stylolithisierung wird Druck-Lösungsrückstand meistens fälschlich als primäres Sediment angesprochen.Druckgelöstes Material wandert von Becken aus. Auf Schwellen führt es zu erhöhtem Stoffangebot für chemische und organische Ablagerung. Druckunlösliches Material konzentriert sich passiv in den Becken.Die Unterschiede zwischen benachbarten lithologischen Horizonten werden in stratigraphischen Abfolgen während der Diagenese über Druck-Lösungstätigkeit verstärkt. Wechsellagerungen können entstehen, indem relativ reine, fast monomineralische Horizonte (Kalkspat, Dolomit, Quarz) von Druck-Lösung kaum betroffen werden, während etwas mehr verunreinigte Schichten, besonders bei Gegenwart von Tonmineralien, bis auf ihren Lösungsrückstand zusammenschrumpfen können.Die während Faltung und Schieferung fortdauernde Druck-Lösungstätigkeit bewirkt weiteren Gesteinsschwund.Hauptsächlich synsedimentäre Lagerstätten können über Druck-Lösungsvorgänge während Diagenese und Orogenese eine weitere Anreicherung erfahren, indem Wertmineralien im Lösungsrückstand zurückbleiben. Verstärkte Anreicherungen sind in Richtung der Becken und Faltenschenkel zu erwarten.
Pressure solution phenomena are not restricted to stylolitic contacts. The majority of pressure solution planes is smooth and not recognizable as such. Pressure solution residue in the absence of stylolitization is often misinterpreted as a primary sediment.Material dissolved under nonuniform pressure migrates from basins to ridges, where it leads to increased precipitation and organic deposition. The material that is insoluble under unilateral pressure thus becomes more concentrated in the basins.The differences between neighbouring lithological units in stratigraphic series are increased during diagenesis by pressure solution activity. Intercalations may result from relatively pure, almost monomineralic layers (e. g. calcite, dolomite, quartz) remaining relatively unaffected by pressure solution processes, while more impure layers, especially those containing clay minerals, may shrink to its solution residue.During folding and cleavage, continuing pressure solution activity results in further loss of rock matter.Mainly synsedimentary ore deposits may be further concentrated by pressure solution processes, both during diagenesis and orogenesis, leaving valuable minerals as part of the solution residue. Elevated concentrations are to be expected towards the basins and limbs of folds.

Résumé Les phénomènes de dissolution par pression inégale ne sont pas limités aux contacts stylolithiques. La plupart des surfaces de dissolution par pression linéaire est lisse et sans caractères particuliers. En l'absence de stylolithisation, les résidus sont considérés souvent à tort comme des sédiments primaires.Le matériel dissous par pression linéaire migre du centre des bassins vers ses bords; cela conduit à un accroissement des dépÔts chimiques et organiques sur les seuils. Le matériel insoluble se concentre passivement au centre des bassins.Les différences entre horizons lithologiques voisins dans les séries stratigraphiques sont accentuées pendant la diagénèse par l'activité de dissolution par pression inégale. Il peut se former des alternances ou des horizons relativement »purs«, presque monominéraux (calcite, dolomite, quartz), qui ne sont pas touchés par la dissolution par pression inégale, tandis que des couches moins »pures« en raison de la présence en particulier de minéraux argileux, peuvent Être réduites à des résidus de dissolution.L'activité persistante de la dissolution par pression linéaire au cours du plissement et de la schistosité entraÎne une nouvelle diminution de matière dans la roche.Ce sont surtout les gisements synsédimentaires qui peuvent subir un enrichissement supplémentaire pendant la diagénèse et l'orogénèse, puisque ce sont les minéraux de valeur qui s'accumulent dans les résidus de dissolution. Ces enrichissements peuvent Être particulièrement renforcés en direction du centre des bassins et des flancs des plis.

Structural formulas were calculated for 8 analysed coexisting biotite-muscovitepairs from granitic rocks. Characteristic components of these structural formulas were plotted against the unit cell dimensions of these micas.In accordance with the results of Gower (1957) the substitution of OH by F in trioctahedral micas was found to reduce c 0 · . However, in contrast to his statements, octahedral alumina was found to reduce c 0 · sin also and to an even larger extent than fluorine. This observation is in agreement with the commonly encountered compacting of the mica structure through replacement of 3 large cations (Fe2+, Mg2+, Mn2+) by two smaller ones (Al3+, Fe3+).Concerning b 0 the combined amounts of octahedral Al and tetrahedral Si cause a reduction of this value, which means indirectly that tetrahedral Al alone would increase b 0.Reductions of b 0 and c 0 · sin by Al in synthetic micas were also found by Crowley and Roy (1964) and Seifert (1966) for the substitution Mg + Si by two Al in trioctahedral micas.In an earlier paper the author (Müller, 1966) has already shown with the same mica samples that the substitutions of M2+ by Al3+ and of OH by F also have the strongest effects of all substitutions on the refractive indices, densities, and specific refractive energies of these micas. Therefore it is evident that the latter effects as well as the changes of lattice constants described in this paper are interrelated.

Zusammenfassung Ein Versuch mit einer rotierenden Schaumgummi- und Tonkugel wird beschrieben. Strukturelle Analogien zwischen dem beim Experiment auftretenden Schwächeflächen-Netz und gro\tektonischen Lineamenten werden besprochen; die Beziehungen solcher Lineamentmuster zur Lage des gleichalten Pols werden versuchsweise diskutiert.
Summary An experiment with a rotating clay ball is being described. Comparisons between resulting ball-modell-structures and geological lineaments are tried and conclusions are discussed concerning relations between lineament-patterns and former situations of the poles of the Earth.

The link between spatiotemporal patterns of stream water chemistry and catchment characteristics for the mesoscale Dill catchment (692 km2) in Germany is explored to assess the catchment scale controls on water quality and to characterize water sources. In order to record the spatiotemporal pattern, ‘snapshot sampling’ was applied during low, mean and high flow, including 73 nested sites throughout the catchment. Water samples were analysed for the elements Li, B, Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Mo, Ba, Pb and U using inductively‐coupled‐plasma mass spectrometry, and for electric conductivity and pH. Principle component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis were used to find typical element associations and to group water samples according to their hydrochemical fingerprints. This revealed regional hydrochemical patterns of water quality which were subsequently related to catchment attributes to draw conclusions about the controls on stream chemistry. It was found that various lithologic signals and anthropogenic point source inputs controlled the base flow hydrochemistry. During increased flows, stream waters were diluted causing additional hydrochemical variability in response to heterogeneous precipitation inputs and differences in aquifer storage capacities. The hydrochemical patterns further displayed in‐stream mixing of waters. This implied, that stream waters could be apportioned to the identified water sources throughout the catchment. The basin‐wide hydrochemical variability has the potential to outrange the tracer signatures typically inferred in studies at the hillslope scale and is able to strongly influence the complexity of the catchment output. Both have to be considered for further catchment scale tracer and modelling work. Despite the likelihood of non‐conservative behaviour, the minor and trace elements enhanced the rather qualitative discrimination of the various groundwater types, as the major cations were strongly masked by point source inputs. Charcoal and fossil wood taken from palaeosols, sediments and artificial structures were analysed in order to evaluate the regional pedoanthracological potential and to obtain information on Holocene environmental changes, particularly on possible past tree occurrences in southern Tibet. This research was initiated by the question to what extent this area is influenced by past human impact. Even recent evaluations have perceived the present treeless desertic environment of southern Tibet as natural, and the previous Holocene palaeoenvironmental changes detected were predominantly interpreted to be climate-determined. The material analysed – comprising a total of 53 botanical spectra and 55 radiocarbon datings from 46 sampling sites (c. 3500–4700 m a.s.l.) – represents the largest systematically obtained data set of charcoal available from Tibet so far. 27 taxa were determined comprising trees, (dwarf-) shrubs and herbs as well as grasses. The predominant tree taxa were Juniperus, Hippophae, Salix and Betula. According to their present-day occurrence in the region, the genera Juniperus and Hippophae can be explicitly attributed to tree species. Further, less frequently detected tree taxa were Populus, Pinus, Quercus, Taxus and Pseudotsuga. Charcoal of Juniperus mainly occurred on southern exposures, whereas Betula was associated with northern exposures. In contrast, the (partly) phreatophytic taxa Hippophae and Salix showed no prevalent orientation. The distribution of radiocarbon ages on charcoal revealed a discontinuous record of burning events cumulating in the Late Holocene (c. 5700–0 cal BP). For southern Tibet, these results indicated a Late Holocene vegetation change from woodlands to the present desertic pastures. As agrarian economies in southern and south-eastern Tibet date back to c. 3700 and 5700 cal BP, respectively, and the present-day climate is suitable for tree growth up to c. 4600 m a.s.l., we concluded that the Late Holocene loss or thinning out of woodlands had been primarily caused by humans.  相似文献

Monthly runoff from the 34.3% glacierized tropical catchment of Llanganuco in the tropical Cordillera Blanca, Perú, is successfully simulated and compared with a measured 44 year time series. In the investigation area, the climate is characterized by all-year round homogenous temperature conditions and a strong variability in air humidity and moisture content of the atmosphere. Thus, contrary to the mid latitudes, the seasonal variation in glacier melt strongly depends on moisture-related variables, rather than on air temperature. The here presented ITGG-2.0-R model aims for these requirements. The lack of moisture-related input data other than precipitation demands for an intermediate calibration step. Net shortwave radiation, the emissivity of the atmosphere and a sublimation/melt ratio are related to precipitation amounts. Runoff is well simulated and correlates with the measured record with r2 = 0.76. Seasonally obtained r2 are only slightly smaller. On a long-term, the cumulative deviation is minor, and the mean annual cycle of runoff is reproduced rather well (r2 = 0.99). Based on four different IPCC climate change scenarios, future runoff is simulated. All runoff scenarios are modelled for the respective steady-state glacier extent. This leads to a reduction in the glacier size and a decreased amount of glacier melt. On the other hand, direct runoff increases due to larger glacier free areas. Consequently, mean annual runoff remains almost unchanged, but the seasonality intensifies considerably with more runoff during the wet and less runoff during the dry season.  相似文献

We present hafnium (Hf) and neodymium (Nd) isotopic compositions and concentrations in surface waters of the eastern Atlantic Ocean between the coast of Spain and South-Africa. These data are complemented by Hf and Nd isotopic and concentration data, as well as rare earth element (REE) concentrations, in Saharan dust.Hafnium concentrations range between a maximum of 0.52 pmol/kg in the area of the Canary Islands and a minimum value of 0.08 pmol/kg in the southern Angola Basin. Neodymium concentrations also show a local maximum in the area of the Canary Islands (26 pmol/kg) but are even higher between ∼20°N and ∼4°N reaching maximum concentrations of 35 pmol/kg. These elevated concentrations provide evidence of inputs from weathering of the Canary Islands and from the partial dissolution of dust from the Sahara/Sahel region. The inputs from ocean island weathering are also reflected in radiogenic Hf and Nd isotopes.The Hf isotopic compositions of dust samples themselves are highly variable, ranging between εHf = −20 and −0.6. The combined Hf and Nd isotopic compositions of dust plot close to the “terrestrial array” during periods of appreciable dust load in the atmosphere. During low atmospheric dust loading combined Hf and Nd isotopic compositions similar to seawater are observed. Most of the variability can be explained in terms of variable degrees of zircon loss from the dust samples, which in turn is linked to sorting during atmospheric transport to the eastern Atlantic Ocean and possibly presorting by sedimentary redistribution on the continent. In addition, increasing relative proportions of radiogenic clay minerals with decreasing grain size may contribute to the radiogenic Hf isotopic compositions observed.While the Nd isotopic composition in the surface ocean reflects the Nd isotopic composition of the Saharan dust adjacent to the Sahara/Sahel region, the release of Hf from that dust appears to be incongruent and results in surface ocean Hf isotopic compositions which are ∼10 εHf more radiogenic than the bulk dust. Radiogenic Hf appears to be released from clays and possibly from trace apatite. Rare earth element patterns of dust samples indicate the presence of apatite but provide no evidence for ferromanganese grain coatings, suggesting that such coatings are insignificant in the release of Hf and Nd from Saharan dust to the surface ocean.The Nd isotopic composition of the surface waters becomes less radiogenic south of the equator, most likely reflecting the release of Nd from Congo river sediments. The release of Hf from Saharan dust and the Congo river sediments, however, does not produce distinct Hf isotopic signatures in the surface ocean, implying that the mobile fraction of Hf integrated over large continental areas is isotopically uniform. The Hf isotopic uniformity in the surface ocean means that the limited variability in deep water isotopic compositions is consistent with a short deep water residence time and reflects homogenous continental inputs rather than efficient deep water homogenization.  相似文献

P21/c, a = 9.8792(7), b = 8.8095(5), c = 5.3754(3) Å, β = 108.844(6)°, V = 442.75(16) Å3, has been studied by in situ low- and high-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The variation of lattice parameters and the intensity of the b-type reflections (h + k = 2n + 1, only present in the P-symmetry) with increasing temperature showed a displacive phase transition from space group P21/c to C2/c at a transition temperature T tr = 789 K, first order in character, with a sudden volume increase of 1.6% and a decrease of β by 1° at the transition. This spontaneous dilatation is reversible, shows a limited hysteresis of ±10°C, and corresponds to the vanishing of the b-type reflections, thus indicating a symmetry increase to space group C2/c. Below T tr an expansion is observed for all the cell parameters, while the β angle remained almost constant; at T > T tr the thermal volume expansion is due to dilatation of the structure in the $(\bar{1}\,0\,1) A synthetic clinopyroxene with composition LiFe3+Ge2O6, monoclinic s.g. From comparison with silicate analogues, the germanate clinopyroxenes are more expansible, while the P21/c expands more than the C2/c phase. The evolution of Q 2 (calculated as the normalized intensity of b-type reflections) with T in the framework of the Landau theory has been done using a standard expression for a first order phase transition. We observe a jump of Q 02 = 0.538(2) at T tr, with T c of 481(7) K, b/a = −2,290 K, and c/a = 3,192 K, and thus far from being tri-critical point. A closely related composition (LiFe3+Si2O6) shows an equivalent phase transition at 228 K, which is very close to the tri-critical point and 561 K cooler. This result indicates that a change in the composition of tetrahedral sites can have dramatic effects on the P21/c ↔ C2/c displacive phase transition in clinopyroxenes. The major changes observed in the evolution of the crystal structure with T are observed in the M2 polyhedron, with a volume decrease by ca. 13.3%, compared to ca. 1.3% observed in the M1 polyhedron. The tetrahedra behave as rigid units with neither a significant change of volume at T > T tr (<1‰), nor a change of tilting of the basal plane. No change in coordination is observed at T > T tr in the M2 polyhedron, which remains sixfold coordinated although a strong deformation of this polyhedron is observed. This deformation is related to a strong change by 51.4° at T tr of the kinking angle (O3–O3–O3 angle) of the B-chain of tetrahedra, which switches from O-rotated to S-rotated [from 143.3(5)° to 194.7(6)°]. The A-chain is S-rotated at T < T tr [206.8(5)° at 703 K] and extends by 12° at the transition.  相似文献

We investigated whether species richness, diversity and density of understory herbaceous plants differed along logging(gap) and grazing(primarily by cattle) disturbance gradients, and sought to identify drivers of richness, diversity and density of understory vegetation of logged sites. A factorial experiment was conducted in the mixed conifer forest of Gidakom in Western Bhutan. Levels of the logging treatment included small(0.15 – 0.24 ha), medium(0.25 – 0.35 ha) and large(0.36 – 1.31 ha) gaps. The grazing treatment included grazed(primarily by cattle) and ungrazed(where herbivores were excluded by a fence) plots nested within each gap. Data were collected from 12 gaps(4 replicates at each level of logging) using the point intercept method. Shannon Weaver Diversity and Margalef's indices were used to estimate species diversity and describe species richness, respectively. Soil samples were analyzed for pH and nutrients. The interaction effect of logging and grazing was significant(p≤0.001) only on species diversity. Relative to ungrazed areas, species diversity was significantly higher(0.01≤p≤0.05) in medium grazed gaps. Under grazed conditions, soil P was negatively correlated with gap size and species diversity. While species diversity was positivelycorrelated(0.01≤p≤0.05) with soil N in grazed plots species richness was positively correlated(0.001≤p≤0.01) with soil N in ungrazed plots. Relative density of Yushania microphylla and Carex nubigena were higher under ungrazed conditions. Our study suggests that the combined effect of cattle grazing and logging results in higher species diversity of understory vegetation in medium and grazed gaps in mixed conifer forests of Bhutan,whereas increase or decrease in relative density of major species is determined primarily by the independent effects of grazing and logging. From management perspective, forest managers must refrain from creating large gaps to avoid loss of nutrients(mainly P and N), which may eventually affect tree regeneration. Managers intending to maintain understory vegetation diversity must consider the combined effects of grazing and logging, ensuring low to moderate grazing pressure.  相似文献
