Using a theoretical model describing pulse shapes, we have clarified the relations between the observed pulses and their corresponding timescales, such as the angular spreading time, the dynamic time as well as the cooling time. We find that the angular spreading timescale caused by curvature effect of fireball surface only contributes to the falling part of the observed pulses, while the dynamic one in the co‐moving frame of the shell merely contributes to the rising portion of pulses provided the radiative time is negligible. In addition, the pulses resulted from the pure radiative cooling time of relativistic electrons exhibit properties of fast rise and slow decay (a quasi‐FRED) profile together with smooth peaks. Besides, we interpret the phenomena of wider pulses tending to be more asymmetric to be a consequence of the difference in emission regions. Meanwhile, we find the intrinsic emission time is decided by the ratios of lorentz factors and radii of the shells between short and long bursts. Based on the analysis of asymmetry, our results suggest that the long GRB pulses may occur in the regions with larger radius, while the short bursts could locate at the smaller distance from central engine. This paper describes a Monte Carlo simulation of type Ia supernova data. It was shown earlier that the data of SNe Ia might contain a possible correlation between the estimated luminosity distances and internal extinctions. This correlation was shown by different statistical investigations of the data. In order to remove observational biases (for example the effect of the detection limit of the observing instrument) and to test the reality of the effect found earlier we developed a simple routine which simulates extinction values, redshifts and absolute magnitudes for Ia supernovae. We pointed out that the correlation found earlier in the real data between the internal extinction and luminosity distance does not occur in the simulated sample. Furthermore, it became obvious that the detection limit of the observing devices used in supernova projects does not affect the far end of the redshift‐luminosity distance relationship of Ia supernovae. The effects of Bohm potential on the head-on collision between two quantum electron-acoustic solitary waves (QEASWs) in two
electron species quantum plasma have been investigated using the extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo (PLK) method. The analytical
phase shifts after the head-on collision of the two QEASWs are derived. Numerically, in two cases (i.e., the dense solid state
plasma and the dense astrophysical environments), the results show that the cold electron-to-hot electron number density ratio,
the quantum corrections of diffraction and Fermi temperature of hot electrons have strong effects on the nature of the phase

Recent results of Milagro, Tibet, ARGO-YBJ, and IceCube experiments on the small-scale anisotropy of Galactic cosmic rays (CRs) with energies from units up to a few hundred TeV arise a question on a possible nature of the observed phenomenon, as well as on the anisotropy of CRs at higher energies. An analysis of a small-scale anisotropy of CRs with energies at around PeV registered with the EAS MSU array presented in the article, reveals a number of regions with an excessive flux. A typical size of the regions varies from 3° up to 12°. We study correlation of these regions with positions of potential astrophysical sources of CRs and discuss a possible origin of the observed anisotropy. 相似文献

Abstract— High‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) based amino acid analysis of a Tagish Lake meteorite sample recovered 3 months after the meteorite fell to Earth have revealed that the amino acid composition of Tagish Lake is strikingly different from that of the CM and CI carbonaceous chondrites. We found that the Tagish Lake meteorite contains only trace levels of amino acids (total abundance = 880 ppb), which is much lower than the total abundance of amino acids in the CI Orgueil (4100 ppb) and the CM Murchison (16 900 ppb). Because most of the same amino acids found in the Tagish Lake meteorite are also present in the Tagish Lake ice melt water, we conclude that the amino acids detected in the meteorite are terrestrial contamination. We found that the exposure of a sample of Murchison to cold water lead to a substantial reduction over a period of several weeks in the amount of amino acids that are not strongly bound to the meteorite matrix. However, strongly bound amino acids that are extracted by direct HCl hydrolysis are not affected by the leaching process. Thus even if there had been leaching of amino acids from our Tagish Lake meteorite sample during its 3 month residence in Tagish Lake ice and melt water, a Murchison type abundance of endogenous amino acids in the meteorite would have still been readily detectable. The low amino acid content of Tagish Lake indicates that this meteorite originated from a different type of parent body than the CM and CI chondrites. The parent body was apparently devoid of the reagents such as aldehyldes/ketones, HCN and ammonia needed for the effective abiotic synthesis of amino acids. Based on reflectance spectral measurements, Tagish Lake has been associated with P‐ or D‐type asteroids. If the Tagish Lake meteorite was indeed derived from these types of parent bodies, our understanding of these primitive asteroids needs to be reevaluated with respect to their potential inventory of biologically important organic compounds. 相似文献

Thanks to INTEGRAL’s long exposures of the Galactic Plane, the two brightest Soft Gamma-Ray Repeaters, SGR 1806-20 and SGR
1900+14, have been monitored and studied in detail for the first time at hard-X/soft gamma rays.
This has produced a wealth of new scientific results, which we will review here. Since SGR 1806-20 was particularly active
during the last two years, more than 300 short bursts have been observed with INTEGRAL and their characteristics have been
studied with unprecedented sensitivity in the 15–200 keV range. A hardness-intensity anticorrelation within the bursts has
been discovered and the overall Number-Intensity distribution of the bursts has been determined. In addition, a particularly
active state, during which 100 bursts were emitted in 10 minutes, has been observed on October 5 2004, indicating that the
source activity was rapidly increasing. This eventually led to the Giant Flare of December 27th 2004, for which a possible
soft gamma-ray (>80 keV) early afterglow has been detected.
The deep observations allowed us to discover the persistent emission in hard X-rays (20–150 keV) from 1806-20 and 1900+14,
the latter being in a quiescent state, and to directly compare the spectral characteristics of all Magnetars (two SGRs and
three Anomalous X-ray Pulsars) detected with INTEGRAL.

Total solar irradiance (TSI) measurements have been available from the TIM instrument on the SORCE spacecraft since 2003. We compare TSI data, both 24-h and 6-h averages, with photometric indices from red and K-line images obtained on a daily basis at the San Fernando Observatory (SFO). For 1253 days of data from 2 March 2003 to 5 May 2010 we compare the data in linear multiple regression analyses. The best results come from using two photometric indices, the red and K-line photometric sums, and SORCE TSI 6-h averages interpolated to the SFO time of observation. For this case, we obtain a coefficient of multiple determination, R 2, of 0.9495 and a quiet-Sun irradiance S 0?=?1360.810?±?0.004?W?m?2. These results provide further support for the hypothesis that the quiet Sun is constant over time. 相似文献

We investigate the distribution of Oort cloud comet perihelia. The data considered includes comets having orbital elements
of the two highest quality classes with original energies designated as new or young. Perihelion directions are determined
in galactic, ecliptic and geocentric equatorial coordinates. Asymmetries are detected in the scatter and are studied statistically
for evidence of adiabatic galactic tidal dynamics, an impulse-induced shower and observational bias. The only bias detected
is the well-known deficiency of observations with perihelion distances q > 2.5 AU. There is no significant evidence of a seasonal
dependence. Nor is there a substantive hemispherical bias in either ecliptic or equatorial coordinates. There is evidence
for a weak stellar shower previously detected by Biermann which accounts for ≈ 10% of the total observations. Both the q bias
and the Biermann star track serve to weaken the evidence for a galactic tidal imprint. Nevertheless, statistically significant
asymmetries in galactic latitude and longitude of perihelia remain. A latitude asymmetry is produced by a dominant tidal component
perpendicular to the galactic disk. The longitude signal implies that ≈ 20% of new comets need an additional dynamical mechanism.
Known disk non-uniformities and an hypothetical bound perturber are discussed as potential explanations. We conclude that
the detected dynamical signature of the galactic tide is real and is not an artifact of observational bias, impulsive showers
or poor data.
