The 2008-05-12 Wenchuan mud-volcano-earthquake was accompanied with eruption of a huge volume of gas and stone, revealing
that earthquakes generally result from instant reverse phase explosion of supercritical water (SCW) at the supercritical point.
In the deep parts of the crust and mantle there still exists a large amount of supercritical water equivalent in order of
magnitude to that of the Earth’s hydrosphere. Soft fluids which exist in the MOHO at the top of the upper mantle are the so-called
deep supercritical fluids (SCWD). Supercritical water (SCW) has n×103 times strong capability to dissolve gas. Its viscosity is extremely low and its diffusivity is extremely strong. Therefore,
it can naturally migrate toward a region with relatively negative pressure. In the steep break zone of the MOHO at the 57–65
km depth beneath the earthquake belt, due to mutation of overburden pressure, SCWD can automatically separate out CaSiO3 and other inorganic salts, evolving into the SCW (H2O-CO2-CH4O system. In going upwards to the 10–20-km depth of the crust SCW will be accumulated as an earthquake-pregnant reservoir
in the broken terrain. The phase-transition heat of SCW is estimated at 606.62 kJ/kg and the reverse phasing kinetic energy
is 2350.8 kJ/kg. When automatic exhaust at the time of decompression reaches the critical pressure (Pc), the instant explosion
reverse phase will be normal-state air water. It will release a huge volume of energy and high-kinetic-energy gas which has
been expanded by a factor of 1000, leading to the breaking of the country rocks overlying the earthquake-pregnant reservoir,
thus giving rise to a Ms 8.0 earthquake. As a result, there were formed eruptive and air-driven (pneumatic) debris flows whose
volumatric flow rate reaches n×1014 m3/s, and their force greatly exceeds the power of INT explosive of the same equivalent value. 相似文献

The stable isotopes of oxygen and hydrogen have been implemented to assess the recharge mechanisms in an area in the UAE bounded to the northwestern part of the Gulf of Oman and the southeastern part of the Arabian Gulf. The conversion of stable isotopes to deuterium excess was utilized as a supportive tool to understand the process of groundwater recharge. The concluding results of this study showed that the origin of moisture is the Mediterranean Sea. The precipitation is the main source of recharge, in which the precipitation having undergone evaporation before recharge occurs. The comparison between regression line for data collected in 1996 and regression line for samples collected in 2006 suggests that the precipitation water which recharged the groundwater, was diluted with groundwater and this dilution is observed from decreasing of the deuterium excess of collected groundwater samples with increasing isotopes of oxygen. The dilution of groundwater with the recharge water suggests modern-day recharge as it is seen from high deuterium excess that exceeded the deuterium excess of LMWL and was close to MMWL. 相似文献

The concentration of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) in the atmosphere of urban Beijing was measured from October 2003 to September 2004 to investigate the origins and spatial-temporal variations of atmospheric Hg. The mean value of Hg concentration is 17.1 ng·m-3 (n=653). The atmospheric Hg data showed spatial-temporal variations throughout the duration of our observation. The maximum GEM concentration (53.7 ng·m-3) was observed at Gucheng in the western area of urban Beijing. The GEM concentrations increased from the north to the south of the studied area, and were higher in winter than in summer. The highest and lowest monthly averages of GEM concentrations were measured to be 23.3 and 4.1 ng·m-3 in January and July, respectively. In addition, GEM concentrations are higher in the daytime than at night in Autumn and from 14 March to 15 April, but daily GEM variation showed an inverse pattern from 22 April to 22 May. In winter, two peak values of GEM concentrations occurred at 13:30 and 21:30. Daily variation of GEM concentrations in summer was the lowest in the four seasons. Mercury from coal combustion was estimated to be the main source of anthropogenic emissions in Beijing from October 2003 to September 2004. Spatial and Temporal Variations of Sound Speed at the PN Section 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Gridded sound speed data were calculated using Del Grosso's formulation from the temperature and salinity data at the PN section
in the East China Sea covering 92 cruises between February 1978 and October 2000. The vertical gradients of sound speed are
mainly related to the seasonal variations, and the strong horizontal gradients are mainly related to the Kuroshio and the
upwelling. The standard deviations show that great variations of sound speed exist in the upper layer and in the slope zone.
Empirical orthogonal function analysis shows that contributions of surface heating and the Kuroshio to sound speed variance
are almost equivalent.

Researches on breaking-induced currents by waves are summarized firstly in this paper. Then, a combined numerical model in orthogonal curvilinear coordinates is presented to simulate wave-induced current in areas with curved boundary or irregular coastline. The proposed wave-induced current model includes a nearshore current module established through orthogonal curvilinear transformation form of shallow water equations and a wave module based on the curvilinear parabolic approximation wave equation. The wave module actually serves as the driving force to provide the current module with required radiation stresses. The Crank-Nicolson finite difference scheme and the alternating directions implicit method are used to solve the wave and current module, respectively. The established surf zone currents model is validated by two numerical experiments about longshore currents and rip currents in basins with rip channel and breakwater. The numerical results are compared with the measured data and published numerical results. 相似文献

The safety of offshore pipeline has drawn a great deal of attention during deepwater installation due to the combined actions of high external pressure, axial tension, and bending moment. Meanwhile, the pipeline configuration has a remarkable effect on the structural behaviour of the tube. The special studies focus on the deepwater S-lay technique in the present paper. The stiffened catenary theory is applied to establish the static equilibrium governing differential equation of a pipe element, and the solution equations of the total pipeline configuration from a lay-barge over a stinger to the seabed are derived. The numerical iteration method for solving pipeline configuration is described in detail, and the corresponding program is developed to conduct the analysis of effects of various parameters such as laying water depth, pipe diameter, thickness of concrete weighted coating layer, stinger length, control strain, and axial tension on pipeline configuration. The results show that the laying water depth, the submerged weight of the pipe, and the axial tension are the critical factors influencing pipeline configuration. In addition, geometrical parameters of the stinger such as length, radius, and shape have an important effect on the pipe-laying capacity of the vessel. The validity of the program is further verified by means of a comparison with results obtained from the commercial finite element software OFFPIPE. 相似文献

We deployed a profiling buoy system incorporating a fast repetition rate fluorometer in the western subarctic Pacific and
carried out time-series observations of phytoplankton productivity from 9 June to 15 July 2006. The chlorophyll a (Chl a) biomass integrated over the euphotic layer was as high as 45–50 mg Chl a m−2 in the middle of June and remained in the 30–40 mg Chl a m−2 range during the rest of observation period; day-to-day variation in Chl a biomass was relatively small. The daily net primary productivity integrated over the euphotic layer ranged from 144 to 919 mg C m−2 day−1 and varied greatly, depending more on insolation rather than Chl a biomass. In addition, we found that part of primary production was exported to a 150-m depth within 2 days, indicating that
the variations in primary productivity quickly influenced the organic carbon flux from the upper ocean. Our results suggest
that the short-term variability in primary productivity is one of the key factors controlling the carbon cycle in the surface

Man-made land or islands that are reclaimed from the sea are suitable for building airports, harbors, and industry parks for
material transportation because of their broad air and land spaces. However, the reclaimed foundation settlement process is
of public concern, including the continuous impact of ocean processes on its stability. The majority of the buildings and
facilities of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) are built on a reclaimed foundation. The reclaimed foundation has been
in residual settlement since completion of the filling project in 1994. In this study, we use persistent scatterer interferometry
(PSI) and ENVISAT (European Satellite) advanced synthetic aperture radar (ASAR) data to detect the residual settlement rates
from 19 April 2006 to 9 January 2008. We use ground truth data to develop empirical correction models for correcting systematic
biases in the ASAR PSI-detected settlement rates. The corrected data follow the Lorentz distribution well, implying that the
residual settlement process is dominated by two modes or categories of settlement rates. The first category represents a relatively
stable state and the second category represents a continuous settlement state. A ground settlement rate map of HKIA shows
that an area of the Passenger Terminal Building and an area of the Southern Runway are two relatively stable areas. There
are two major continuous settlement areas. One covers the airport Midfield. Another is along the coastline, implying that
attention should be paid to impacts of ocean processes on the stability of airport foundations. 相似文献

The spatial distribution of heterotrophic ciliates, environmental factors and potential food items (bacteria, Synechococcus spp. and nanoflagellates) were measured in the East China Sea to examine which variables contributed importantly to the long-term
distribution of ciliates between 1998 and 2007. In July 1998 and June 2003, heterotrophic ciliates were found to be abundant
(1,000–2,000 × 103 cells m−3) in regions where surface salinity <32 but extremely low (<500 × 103 cells m−3) in shelf waters of surface salinity >32. After August 2003, shortly after the completion of the Three Gorges Dam, we found
no significant areal differences in the abundance of heterotrophic ciliates (HC). However, we found a significantly negative
correlation between temperature and HC abundance of surface water after the completion of the dam, suggesting that temperature
had a greater influence on HC abundance, once the original saline state had changed. For the long-term trends on the vertical
distribution of HC, their abundance was significantly higher in the upper 50 m of the water column than at either 75 or 100 m.
Abundance of Synechococcus spp. at these levels varied significantly in regions of surface salinity <32, suggesting that ciliates and picophytoplankton
contribute greatly to mediating the transfer of organic matter to higher trophic levels in this marine ecosystem. 相似文献

The interaction between wave and horizontal and vertical plates is investigated by the boundary element method,and the relations of wave exciting force with plate thickness,submergence and length are obtained.It is found that:1) The efficient wave exciting force exists while plate submergence is less than 0.5 m,and the plate is very thin with order O(0.005 m).2) The maximum heave wave exciting force exists,and it is the main factor for surface and submerged horizontal plate while the roll force can be ignored.3) The maximum sway wave exciting force exists,it is the main factor for surface or submerged vertical plate,and the roll force is about 20 times of horizontal plate. 相似文献
