We consider the general and specific features of the evolution of the composition of fine-grained terrigenous rocks in the Riphean sedimentary megasequences of the Southern Urals, Uchur-Maya region, and Yenisei Ridge. It has been established that the crust on the southwestern (in the modern frame of references) periphery of the Siberian craton was geochemically the most mature segment of the Riphean continental crust. For example, the fine-grained clastic rocks and metapelites of all Riphean lithostratigraphic units of the Yenisei Ridge have higher median contents of Th than the most mature Paleoproterozoic crust, and in median contents of Y and Cr/Th values they are the most similar to it. In the Southern Urals and Uchur-Maya region, some units of the Riphean sedimentary sequences show median contents of Y and Th and Cr/Th values close to those of primitive Archean crust. Analysis of Cr/Th variations in the fine-grained terrigenous rocks of all three megasequences shows that the minimum Cr/Th values, evidencing a predominance or the abundance of felsic rocks in provenances, are typical of the Riphean argillaceous shales and metapelites of the Yenisei Ridge. The distinct Cr/Th and Cr/Sc increase in the fine-grained clastic rocks of the Chingasan Group of the ridge reflects the large-scale destruction of continental crust during the formation of rift troughs as a result of the Rodinia breakup in the second half of the Late Riphean. The Cr/Th variations in the Lower and Middle Riphean argillaceous shales and mudstones of the Bashkirian mega-anticlinorium and Uchur-Maya region are in agreement, which evidences the subglobal occurrence of rifting in the early Middle Riphean (so-called “Mashak rifting”). 相似文献

We have experimentally studied the formation of diamonds in alkaline carbonate–carbon and carbonate–fluid–carbon systems at 5.7–7.0 GPa and 1150–1700 °C, using a split-sphere multi-anvil apparatus (BARS). The starting carbonate and fluid-generating materials were placed into Pt and Au ampoules. The main specific feature of the studied systems is a long period of induction, which precedes the nucleation and growth of diamonds. The period of induction considerably increases with decreasing P and T, but decreases when adding a C–O–H fluid to the system. In the range of P and T corresponding to the formation of diamonds in nature, this period lasts for tens of hours. The reactivity of the studied systems with respect to the diamond nucleation and growth decreases in this sequence: Na2CO3–H2C2O4·2H2O–C>K2CO3–H2C2O4·2H2O–C>>Na2CO3–C>K2CO3–C. The diamond morphology is independent of P and T, and is mainly governed by the composition of the crystallization medium. The stable growth form is a cubo-octahedron in the Na2CO3 melt, and an octahedron in the K2CO3 melt. Regardless of the composition of the carbonate melt, only octahedral diamond crystals formed in the presence of the C–O–H fluid. The growth rates of diamond varied in the range from 1.7 μm/h at 1420 °C to 0.1–0.01 μm/h at 1150 °C, and were used to estimate, for the first time, the possible duration of the crystallization of natural diamonds. From the analysis of the experimental results and the petrological evidence for the formation of diamonds in nature, we suggest that fluid-bearing alkaline carbonate melts are, most likely, the medium for the nucleation and growth of diamonds in the Earth's upper mantle. 相似文献

Equilibrium and Disequilibrium Trace Element Partitioning in Hydrous Eclogites (Trescolmen, Central Alps) 总被引:6,自引:1,他引:6
Despite the widespread presence of hydrous phases in subduction-related systems, experimental DMin/Fluid trace element valuesfor many hydrous phases are lacking. To fill this gap, we presenta set of DMin/Clinopyroxene values (where Min indicates amphibole,zoisite, phengite, paragonite or apatite) derived from equilibriumparageneses of eclogites from Trescolmen (Central Alps, Switzerland).These data can be combined with experimental data for DClinopyroxene/Fluid,to estimate DMin/Fluid values for the hydrous phases, thus circumventingexperimental problems with the direct determination of suchvalues. We analysed Li, Be, B, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Ce, Nd, Sm,Pb, Th and U in coexisting phases by laser ablation microprobeinductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Many of the valuesare extremely low; for example, Nb, Ba, Ce, Th and U are inthe lower ppb range in clinopyroxene. Attainment of equilibriumwas evaluated by textural, and major and trace element characteristics.Non-equilibrated assemblages are common in most eclogite localities,including Trescolmen, and using such samples would lead to thederivation of erroneous values for equilibrium partitioning.However, four of the 10 studied eclogites from Trescolmen havinghomogeneous clinopyroxene compositions and preferred orientationof high-pressure phases yielded consistent DMin/Clinopyroxenevalues in all four samples (where Min indicates amphibole, phengite,paragonite, apatite), and hence were studied in detail. Thelow abundances in some phases result from strong preferentialincorporation of trace elements into other minor phases. Fromthe investigated hydrous phases (amphibole, zoisite, clinozoisite,phengite, paragonite, apatite and talc), zoisite was found tobe the most important carrier of Sr, light rare earth elements,Pb, Th and U, whereas phengite hosts Ba and is, along with clinopyroxeneand paragonite, an important phase for B. However, because oftheir low modal abundance in eclogite-facies rocks, phengiteand paragonite do not control the B whole-rock budget. A new potassium uranyl selenate compound K(UO2)(SeO4)(OH)(H2O) has been synthesized for the first time using the technique of evaporation from water solution. Its crystal structure has been solved by direct methods (monoclinic, P21/c,a = 8.0413(9) Å, b = 8.0362(9) Å, c = 11.6032(14) Å, β = 106.925(2)°, V = 717.34(14) Å3) and refined to R 1 = 0.0319 (wR 2 = 0.0824) for 1285 reflections with |F 0| > 4σ F . The structure consists of [(UO2(SeO4)(OH)(H2O)]? chains extending along axis b. In the chains, the uranyl pentagonal bipyramids are linked via bridged hydroxyl anions and tetrahedral oxoanions [SeO4]2?. Potassium ions are situated between these chains. No chains of that type have been observed in uranyl compounds earlier, but they had been detected in the structures of butlerite, parabutlerite, uklonskovite, fibroferrite, and a number of synthetic compounds. 相似文献

On 19 April 2005, an oil spill occurred in southeastern Louisiana’s Barataria Bay estuary. We used a drop sampler to characterize
the marsh-edge nekton community. Thirty-six locations were sampled in pre- and post-spill time frames from March through May
2005. Before–after control–impact (BACI) analyses of the total number of individuals (fishes + decapod crustaceans), total
fishes, and sensitive species found significant interactions between the temporal (before/after) and spatial (control/impact)
treatments and indicated an effect of the oil spill. Nonparametric analyses detected varied faunal assemblages across temporal
treatments, but were similar in species composition among spatial treatments. While the BACI analyses showed event effects,
differences were not strongly detected in nonparametric analyses of community structure. Fish are mobile and left the spill
area after the disturbance, whereas the less mobile but more numerous benthic decapod crustaceans remained. The overall community
structure appears to be robust and quickly recovered from the localized spill event. 相似文献

Based on new evidence the Sulu orogen is divided from south‐east to north‐west into high‐pressure (HP) crustal slice I and ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) crustal slices II and III. A combined set of mineral inclusions, cathodoluminescence images, U‐Pb SHRIMP dating and in situ trace element and Lu‐Hf isotope analyses was obtained on zircon from orthogneisses of the different slices. Zircon grains typically have three distinct domains that formed during crystallization of the magmatic protolith, HP or UHP metamorphism and late‐amphibolite facies retrogression, respectively: (i) oscillatory zoned cores, with low‐pressure (LP) mineral inclusions and Th/U > 0.38; (ii) high‐luminescent mantles (Th/U < 0.10), with HP mineral inclusions of Qtz + Grt + Arg + Phe + Ap for slice I zircon and Coe + Grt + Phe + Kfs + Ap for both slices II and III zircon; (iii) low‐luminescent rims, with LP mineral inclusions and Th/U < 0.08. Zircon U‐Pb SHRIMP analyses of inherited cores point to protolith ages of 785–770 Ma in all seven orthogneisses. The ages recorded for UHP metamorphism and subsequent retrogression in slice II zircon (c. 228 and c. 215 Ma, respectively) are significantly older than those of slice III zircon (c. 218 and c. 202 Ma, respectively), while slice I zircon recorded even older ages for HP metamorphism and subsequent retrogression (c. 245 and c. 231 Ma, respectively). Moreover, Ar‐Ar biotite ages from six paragneisses, interpreted as dating amphibolite facies retrogression, gradually decrease from HP slice I (c. 232 Ma) to UHP slice II (c. 215 Ma) and UHP slice III (c. 203 Ma). The combined data set suggests decreasing ages for HP or UHP metamorphism and late retrogression in the Sulu orogen from south‐east to north‐west. Thus, the HP‐UHP units are interpreted to represent three crustal slices, which underwent different subduction and exhumation histories. Slice I was detached from the continental lithosphere at ~55–65 km depth and subsequently exhumed while subduction of the underlying slice II continued to ~100–120 km depth (UHP) before detachment and exhumation. Slice III experienced a similar geodynamic evolution as slice II, however, both UHP metamorphism and subsequent exhumation took place c. 10 Myr later. Magmatic zircon cores from two types of orthogneiss in UHP slices II and III show similar mid‐Neoproterozoic crystallization ages, but have contrasting Hf isotope compositions (εHf(~785) = ?2.7 to +2.2 and ?17.3 to ?11.1, respectively), suggesting their formation from distinct crustal units (Mesoproterozoic and Paleoproterozoic to Archean, respectively) during the breakup of Rodinia. The UHP and the retrograde zircon domains are characterized by lower Th/U and 176Lu/177Hf but higher 176Hf/177Hf(t) than the Neoproterozoic igneous cores. The similarity between UHP and retrograde domains indicates that late retrogression did not significantly modify chemical and isotopic composition of the UHP metamorphic system. 相似文献

Neocomian reservoirs in the Mesozoic sedimentary cover of West Siberia have a complex geological structure. Their wedge-like (clinoform) geometry, with abrupt thickness changes and facies diversity (continental, shoreface, and pelagic deposits), causes difficulty in correlation between drilling- and seismics-based sand formations and clay caps. East-wedging (west-dipping) clinoforms consisting of interbedded clay and sand have the greatest reservoir potential in the West Siberian basin. Prediction of new oil and gas plays and their reservoir potential assessment require regional reconstructions in addition to local contour maps of individual zones and fields. However, the simulation technology which has been applied for years to Jurassic regional reservoirs is not fully applicable to the Neocomian clinoform sequences. Therefore we have adapted it correspondingly and suggest new tools to make due regard for the clinoform reservoir structure. The new approach has been tested through computing several structure and thickness contour maps of clinoform sequences for three largest regional Neocomian reservoirs (sub-Sarman, sub-Pim, and sub-Alymka) in northern and arctic West Siberia. 相似文献
