The U-Pb and Pb-Pb methods were used for determining age of cap limestones from the Neoproterozoic Tsagaan Oloom Formation corresponding to the lower part of the sedimentary cover in the Dzabkahn microcontinent of Central Asia. The weighted average age value appeared to be equal to 632 ± 14 Ma (MSWD = 0.11, probability 0.74). This value allows the following assumptions: (1) the lower boundary of the Tsagaan Oloom Formation corresponds to the beginning of the Ediacaran; (2) Dzabkhan tillites are correlative with glacial sediments of the Marinoan Epoch. The low 238U/204Pb and 232Th/238U ratios observed in initial Pb sources of limestones from the Tsagaan Oloom Formation indicate that the Dzabkhan paleobasin received at its early development stages a bulk of material from eroded upper Riphean juvenile rocks. The 87Sr/86Sr ratio in fractions of Tsagaan Oloom limestones enriched with primary carbonate material and satisfying geochemical criteria of Rb-Sr systems retentivity (Mn/Sr < 0.20 and Fe/Sr < 1) varies from 0.70676 to 0.70691 and reflects this ratio in the World Ocean approximately 630 Ma ago.  相似文献

Statistical methods are available which predict the maximum response of simple oscillators given the peak acceleration (Ap), peak velocity (Vp) or peak displacement (Dp) of seismic ground motions. An alternative parameter, namely an ordinate (or ordinates) of the Fourier amplitude spectrum of ground motion acceleration, FS(f), may in fact be a preferred predictor of peak response, especially in a frequency range close to f. Other statistical methods (attenuation laws) use distance R and other parameters such as magnitude (M), Modified Mercalli epicentral Intensity (Io) and Modified Mercalli site Intensity (MMI or Is) to predict spectral velocity (Sv(f)), etc. In using such approaches, it is most desirable to know the total uncertainty in the predicted peak response of the system given the starting parameter values. An extensive strong motion data set is used to study these questions, The most direct prediction models are found to be preferable (have lower prediction dispersion) but data may not be available in all regions to permit their use.  相似文献

Bayesian statistics are applied to the problem of signal-to-noise ratio enhancement from a common-midpoint gather. By maximizing the a posteriori probability distribution of the gather with respect to the minimum-offset trace and suppressing multiples via a semblance criterion, a statistically biased stack is formed with signal-to-noise ratio comparable to that of the usual stack while preserving the resolution and registration of the original noisy trace. Application of the algorithm to real data reveals geologically significant features which are indistinct in the standard stacked section.  相似文献

A promising technique for the removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater streams involved firstly the ions adsorption on a colloidal precipitate (carrier) and then the separation of the loaded flocs (coagula) by a modified column flotation. Here, the effluent feed and the carrier (ferric hydroxide) enter smoothly by the top of the column through a special diffuser, in counter current with rising bubbles (100–600 μm diameter) generated by using recycled water, surfactant and air suction through a venturi. High separation values of the column flotation of the carrier precipitates were achieved, despite the high superficial flow rate and the high Fe+ 3 concentration utilized (> 60 mg L− 1 Fe). No rupture of colloidal carrier aggregates was observed and a low split was ensured by monitoring the concentrate (floated product) flow rate. Results indicated that best separation was attained by controlling the medium pH (for best heavy metal ion adsorption onto the carrier), followed by sodium oleate, used as “collector” and optimizing operating parameters (conditioning, flow rates, etc.). The column throughput reached 43 m h− 1 (m3 m− 2 h− 1), which is about 4 times the normal capacity of DAF-dissolved air flotation unit, the most used floater in wastewater treatment. Various metals (Cu, Ni, Pb, etc.) and molybdate ions present in synthetic and real effluent were successfully removed based on this colloidal adsorbing flotation principle. The process was also applied in a pilot scale to treat an industrial electroplating wastewater. Most of toxic metals (Cu, Ni and Zn) were reduced from initial concentrations of about of 2 to 10 mg L− 1, to below 0.5 to 1.0 mg L− 1, meeting local municipal discharge limits (but Cd ions). It is believed that flotation separation using medium-sized bubbles has great potential as a clean water and wastewater treatment technology.  相似文献

The shear band (SB) spacing phenomenon in geomaterials is addressed in this paper under plane strain extensional conditions. On the basis of sand box observations, a method is proposed for the prediction of the spacing between shear bands based on the so-called “bookshelf” deformation mechanism. The proposed method is based on the assumption that the material is softening inside the shear bands whereas outside the SB it undergoes elastic unloading. The underlying assumption for the prediction of SB spacing is that the material reaches the lowest possible energy rate. An analytical expression for the determination of the shear band spacing is presented taking into account the plane strain extensional deformation of the specimen. The friction due to the normal off-plane shear acting on the boundaries is then taken into account.  相似文献
