Cost and time are the two most important factors conditioning soil surveys. Since these surveys provide basic information for modelling and management activities, new methods are needed to speed the soil-mapping process with limited input data. In this study, the polypedon concept was used to extend the spatial representation of sampled pedons (point data) in order to train artificial neural networks (ANNs) for digital soil mapping (DSM). The input database contained 97 soil profiles belonging to 7 different soil series and 15 digital elevation model (DEM) attributes. Pedons were represented in raster format as one-cell areas. The corresponding polypedons were then spatially represented by neighbouring raster cells (e.g. 2 × 2, … up to 6 × 6 cells). The primary database contained 97 pedons (97 cells) that were extended up to 3492 cells (in the case of 6 × 6-cell regions). This approach employed test and validation areas to calculate the respective accuracies of data interpolation and extrapolation. The results showed increased accuracies in training and interpolation (test area) but a poor level of accuracy in the extrapolation process (validation area). However, the overall precision of all predictions increased considerably. Using only topographic attributes for extrapolation was not sufficient to obtain an accurate soil map. To improve prediction, other soil-forming factors, such as landforms and/or geology, should also be considered as input data in the ANN. The proposed method could help to improve existing soil maps by using DSM results in areas with limited soil data and to save time and money in soil survey work.  相似文献

The recently developed SWATDRAIN model was employed to assess the impact of controlled drainage on the water table dynamics, subsurface drainage, and surface runoff in an agricultural watershed in Ontario, Canada. Controlled drainage was defined with a depth of 1.0 m to restrict flow at the drain outlet to maintain the water table at 0.5 m below the surface level during the winter (November–April) and at 0.6 m during the summer (June–August) months. The effects of the absence, or implementation, of drainage water management were predicted for the 3-year period of 1991–1993. Implementing controlled drainage resulted in a 16 % reduction in the mean annual drain flow, while increasing surface runoff by as much as 71 %. This indicates that overall watershed hydrology could be significantly impacted by the implementation of controlled drainage. This research demonstrates the SWATDRAIN model’s ability to predict the controlled drainage in small agricultural watersheds.  相似文献

Droughts are complex natural hazards that, to a varying degree, affect some parts of the world every year. The range of drought impacts is related to drought occurring in different stages of the hydrological cycle and usually different types of droughts such as meteorological, agricultural, hydrological, and socio-economical are the most distinguished types. Hydrological drought includes streamflow and groundwater droughts. In this paper, streamflow drought was analyzed using the method of truncation level (at 70 % level) by daily discharges at 54 stations in southwestern Iran. Frequency analysis was carried out for annual maximum series of drought deficit volume and duration. 35 factors such as physiographic, climatic, geologic and vegetation were studied to carry out the regional analysis. According to conclusions of factor analysis, the six most effective factors include watershed area, the sum rain from December to February, the percentage of area with NDVI <0.1, the percentage of convex area, drainage density and the minimum of watershed elevation, explained 89.2 % of variance. The homogenous regions were determined by cluster analysis and discriminate function analysis. The suitable multivariate regression models were ascertained and evaluated for hydrological drought deficit volume with 2 years return period. The significance level of models was 0.01. The conclusion showed that the watershed area is the most effective factor that has a high correlation with drought deficit volume. Moreover, drought duration was not a suitable index for regional analysis.  相似文献

The Ni, Co, As, and Cu deposit of Gowd-e-Morad is located 20 km northwest of Anarak in Central Iran. In this hydrothermal deposit, mineralization occurs as veins in a fault breccia zone hosted by the Chahgorbeh (schist and metabasite) complex. The main ores are made up of Ni, Co, and Cu arsenides. Petrologic studies and results obtained from geochemical analyses have indicated that the Ni, Co, As, and Cu are derived from ultramafic rocks while Pb and Zn are likely to be derived from schist. Based on the geochemical evidence, particularly the high correlation between Ni, Co, and As, it is proposed that this deposit be categorized as a “five elements” mineral deposit. Fluid inclusion studies have shown homogenization temperatures (TH) in the range 113?206 ?C and salinity 3?13.5 % wt eq. NaCl. Therefore this “five elements” mineral deposit has been determined as a low temperature, epithermal deposit type. It is proposed that the low fluid temperatures are a result of an environment of formation which was distal to a volcanogenic source systems and the major influence of meteoric waters in the hydrothermal system.  相似文献

Abstract

In onshore and offshore fields of ocean engineering, piles are used as foundation systems for various structures. Piles are classified into different types depending on their materials, geometries, and particularly, installation methods, which have advantages or limitations. Companies and engineers have developed a new group of piles, because of necessity to improve their performance in terms of increasing the bearing capacity, reducing impacts of traditional installation procedures, implementing by low- torque power equipment, and utilizing them in widely different ground conditions, including in a marine environment. In the present study, three different models of a new pile with an expander body are introduced to increase the shaft and pile-toe diameters and its self-expansion in the embedment depth under the titles of the Bubble pile (BP), Self-Expanded pile (SEP) and Wing pile (WP). The main subject of this research is to achieve increased bearing capacity, reduced installation effects, and decreased required installation torque. The frustum-confining vessel of Amirkabir University of Technology (FCV-AUT) was employed for this purpose. Up to 14 axial compressive and tensile load tests were carried out on different model piles on sand collected from Anzali shore located on the northern coast of Caspian Sea in Iran, with relative densities of 45% to 50% within FCV-AUT. Comparing the performance of introduced pile with traditional pile corresponding to the same characteristics, the results indicated a significant increase in the axial bearing capacity and reduced disturbance effect of the pile. Also, a lower installation torque of the SE pile was required compared to the helical pile. The test results also demonstrated that the new pile could resist considerable compressive and uplift loads, and could be a possible alternative to traditional piles in the onshore sector.  相似文献

High speed planing hulls have complex hydrodynamic behaviors. The trim angle and drafts are very sensitive to speed and location of the center of gravity.
