Horizontal starch gel electrophoresis was used to investigate the biochemical genetic structure of Chinese mittencrab Eriocheir sinensis and Hepu mitten crab E. hepuensis. Sixteen putative enzyme-coding loci were examined for forty-nineChinese mitten crabs and thirty-eight Hepu mitten crabs. Nine loci, AAT-1 *, AAT-2 *, G3PDH*, GPI*, IDHP-1 *, IDHP-2 *,MDH-1 *, MDH-2 * and PGM * , are polymorphic in Chinese mitten crab, and seven, AAT-1 *, AAT-2 *, GPI *, IDHP-1 *,MDH-1 *, MDH-2 * and PGM * , are polymorphic in Hepu mitten crab. The proportion of polymorphic loci and the expectedheterozygosity are 0.562 5 and 0.080 3 for Chinese mitten crab, and 0.437 5 and 0.075 4 for Hepu mitten crab. This paper presents a simple and effective approach that incorporates single-frequency, L1 time-differenced GPS carrier phase
(TDCP) measurements without the need of ambiguity resolution techniques and the complexity to accommodate the delayed-state
terms. Static trial results are included to illustrate the stochastic characteristics and effectiveness of the TDCP measurements
in controlling position error growth. The formulation of the TDCP observation model is also described in a 17-state tightly-coupled
GPS/INS iterative, extended Kalman filter (IEKF) approach. Preliminary land vehicle trial results are also presented to illustrate

The Burdigalian mixed siliciclastic–carbonate deposits of the Dam Formation are well-exposed in Al Lidam area, in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. They represent a shallow part of the Arabian plate continental margin. The Dam Formation is correlatable to the Miocene reservoirs in both Iran and Iraq. Therefore, studying the Dam Formation lithologic heterogeneity in a small distance with high resolution could help in further work related to pattern prediction of the Miocene reservoir properties. High-resolution sedimentological investigation was carried out through six outcrops. The facies parameters (lithology, sedimentary structures, main fossils, paleocurrent patterns and geometries of the sedimentary bodies) were described. The results revealed 15 lithofacies that have been further grouped into 7 lithofacies associations 5 of which are carbonates and include (1) interbedded dolostone and evaporates, (2) microbialite buildup, (3) ooid-dominated grainstones, (4) burrowed skeletal peloidal wackestone–packstone and (5) mollusc-dominated wackestone–packstone. The remaining two associations are of siliciclastics and include (6) intertidal siliciclastics and (7) wave-dominated siliciclastics. These lithofacies were interpreted to reflect deposition in a mixed siliciclastic–carbonate ramp system that includes subtidal, shoreface, intertidal, foreshore, supratidal and estuarine deposits in a shallowing-upward succession. Each one of these lithofacies association has distinct geometry and architecture pattern. Oolites and heterozoan lithofacies occur as sheets and show great continuity along the strike direction. Oolites pass laterally in the dip direction into more skeletal- and peloid-dominated zones, whereas heterozoan lithofacies stay continuous in the dip directions and change from siliciclastic to carbonate heterozones. In contrast, microbialite lithofacies lack continuous beds and occur as localised bioherms and biostroms. Channelised lithofacies are restricted laterally into isolated channel bodies and vertically in the contact boundary between siliciclastic and carbonate lithofacies, whereas the interbedded dolostone and evaporite lithofacies form distinct, relatively thick continuous layers. With continuous exposures in both strike (1.2 km) and dip (0.15 km) directions, the outcrops in the Al Lidam area provide unique opportunity to study the heterogeneity among lithofacies of the mixed siliciclastic–carbonate system of the Dam Formation. Such study may provide insights to predict occurrence and distribution of lithofacies bodies in their equivalent reservoirs which are important for reservoir characterisation. 相似文献

A theoretical requirement of the Interaction by Exchange with the Conditional Mean (IECM) micromixing model is that the mean concentration field produced by it must be consistent with the mean concentration field produced by a traditional Lagrangian stochastic (LS) marked particle model. We examine the violation of this requirement that occurs in a coupled LS–IECM model when unrealistically high particle velocities occur. No successful strategy was found to mitigate the effects of these rogue trajectories. It is our hope that this work will provide renewed impetus for investigation into rogue trajectories and methods to eliminate them from LS models. 相似文献

Connections are ubiquitous. The hydrologic cycle is perhaps the best example: every component of this cycle is connected to every other component, but some connections are stronger than the others. Unraveling the nature and extent of connections in hydrologic systems, as well as their interactions with others, has always been a fundamental challenge in hydrology. Despite the progress in this direction, a strong scientific theory that is suitable for studying all types of connections in hydrology continues to be elusive. In this article, I argue that the theory of networks provides a generic theory for studying all types of connections in hydrology. After presenting a general discussion of complex systems as networks, I offer a brief account of the history of development of network theory and some basic concepts and measures of complex networks, and explain the relevance of complex network theory for hydrologic systems, with three specific examples. 相似文献

Climatic changes in the Tarim River basin since 12 kaBP were divided into four stages based on the analyses of sedimentary phase, the features of some climatic and environmental biomarks in the sedimentary strata and desert evolution. During the Holocene, cool-dry and temperate-dry climates resulted in apparent alluvial-fluvial and weak aeolian activities. During 10–8 kaBP, the climate was dry and cold, large-scale sand dunes activities led to regional deeert expansion. During the hypsithermal (8–3 kaBP), the climate was dry and warm, shifting sand areas decreased and a lot of sand dunes were fixed along the banks of the Tarim River and its tributaries, lowlands and lakes. As a result, fluvial-alluvial areas increased. Since 3 kaBP, the aeolian activity and sandstorms have been enhancing due to the combined influences of climatic warming and illogicill exploitation of land and water resources. The climate in the Tarim River basin have been persistently dry and alternated by warm and cold periods. Consequently, the sedimentary environments have varied fmm desert steppe to desert, and strongly influenced by periphery mountains and global climatic fluctuations. 相似文献

The prime objective of this work is to provide a reference to predict the peak shear strength of rock fractures. The paper studied some shear properties of rock fractures and proposed an empirical formula for the peak shear strength of rock fractures based on 3D morphology parameters. The rock fractures were induced in cylindrical sandstone and marble specimens by means of indirect tension. A rock direct shear apparatus (RDS-200) was adopted to conduct direct shear tests on five groups of rock fractures under different levels of normal load. Before the direct shear test, 3D morphology parameters of rock fracture surfaces were obtained using a 3D optical scanner. By analyses of direct shear test data, the relationships between peak shear strength, peak shear displacement, peak dilatancy angle, residual friction coefficient and peak normal stress were found. According to the evolution trends of peak shear strength and peak dilatancy angle along with the normal stress, an empirical formula was proposed to predict the peak shear strength of rock fractures in both sliding and cutting failure modes considering the 3D morphology parameters of rock fracture surfaces. The empirical formula could be commonly used for different types (sandstone and marble) and grain sizes (powder-grained, fine-grained, medium-grained and coarse-grained) of rock fractures. 相似文献

The Queens Water Tunnel No. 3, stage 2 having 7.5-km length and 7-m diameter, is excavated by a high-power tunnel boring machine (TBM) underneath Brooklyn and Queens area for distributing freshwater throughout the New York City, USA. This paper offers a review of the project by considering the TBM performance and rock mass interaction. Using the individual cutter force, intact, and mass rock properties, TBM performance by means of field penetration index (FPI) was predicted and compared with actual results obtained in the field. Further, the study involves statistical analysis of the laboratory and field data including machine, intact, and mass rock properties to develop new empirical equations to estimate FPI. It is stated that the FPI, also converted to the rate of penetration, could be estimated utilizing intact and mass rock properties together with cutter force for similar type of rocks with correlation coefficient of 0.88. 相似文献

Due to the existence of fragile karst geo-ecological environments, such as environments with extremely poor soil cover, low
soil-forming velocity, and fragmentized terrain and physiognomy, as well as inappropriate and intensive land use, soil erosion
is a serious problem in Guizhou Province, which is located in the centre of the karst areas of southwestern China; evaluation
of soil loss and spatial distribution for conservation planning is urgently needed. This study integrated the revised universal
soil loss equation (RUSLE) with a GIS to assess soil loss and identify risk erosion areas in the Maotiao River watershed of
Guizhou. Current land use/cover and management practices were evaluated to determine their effects on average annual soil
loss and future soil conservation practices were discussed. Data used to generate the RUSLE factors included a Landsat Thematic
Mapper image (land cover), digitized topographic and soil maps, and precipitation data. The results of the study compare well
with the other studies and local data, and provide useful information for decision makers and planners to take appropriate
land management measures in the area. It thus indicates the RUSLE–GIS model is a useful tool for evaluating and mapping soil
erosion quantitatively and spatially at a larger watershed scale in Guizhou. 相似文献
