Archaeological investigations undertaken along a proposed highway together with the compilation of available geological and pedological data made it possible to give a first overview of the distribution of Pleistocene aeolian deposits in south‐west France. A chronological framework for deposition has been obtained using both radiocarbon (n = 24) and luminescence (n = 26) dating. It shows that aeolian transport was very active during the Late Pleniglacial, between 15 and ~23 ka, leading to sand emplacement over a 13 000‐m2 area at the centre of the basin. The Pleniglacial coversands are typified by extensive fields of small transverse to barchanoid ridges giving way to sandsheets to the east. Subsequent aeolian phases, at ca. 12 ka (Younger Dryas) and 0.8–0.2 ka (Little Ice Age), correspond to the formation of more localized and higher, mainly parabolic dunes. At the southern and eastern margins of the coversand area, aeolian dust accumulated to form loess deposits, the thickness of which reaches ~3 m on the plateaus. Luminescence dates together with interglacial‐ranking palaeoluvisols between the loess units clearly indicate that these accumulations built up during the last two glacial–interglacial cycles. The chronology of sand and loess deposition thus appears to be consistent with that already documented for northern Europe. This suggests that it was driven by global climate changes in the northern hemisphere. The relatively thin aeolian deposits (and particularly loess) in south‐west France is thought to reflect both a supply‐limited system and a moister climate than in more northern and continental regions. In de‐glaciated areas, para‐glaciation (i.e. the conditioning of landscapes by prior glaciation) has often been considered a major predisposing factor in landslide occurrence; its consequences have been particularly well identified at a fine scale (especially on bedrock jointing). Hitherto, the relative impacts of para‐glaciation on hillslope dynamics at a regional scale had nevertheless not been quantified statistically. We examine Skagafjörður area (northern Iceland) where landslides are widespread (at least 108 were mapped in an area of c. 3000 km2). We compare the role of para‐glaciation (debuttressing, influence of post‐glacial rebound) with that of classic factors (topography, lithology, etc.) in landslide occurrence and location, using a spatial analysis based on a chi‐square test. On the one hand, the results highlight that landslides are over‐represented in areas where post‐glacial rebound was at its maximum, with a stronger concentration of landslides in the northern part of the fjord. On the other hand, the distribution of landslides did not show any clear relationship with the pattern of glacial debuttressing. Tschuprow coefficient highlights that the influence of post‐glacial rebound on landslide location is higher than the combined influence of slope gradient, curvature or geological structure. This result is supported by our initial evidence for the timing of landslides in the area: most landslides occurred during the first half of the Holocene, and a period of hillslope instability was initiated when the post‐glacial uplift was at its maximum. Silicate melts impose systematic fracture patterns on their hosts and their own subsolidus portions as they crystallize and cool to ambient conditions. Weathering of these plutonic bodies accentuates the fractures and produces fragmented topographic surfaces whose geometric measures exceed those of a Euclidean surface. Because geometric measures of these surfaces are potentially indicative of the percolation properties of the fracture network, contours and vertical sections were digitized from 1250000 and 1240000 scale maps, and their statistical fractal dimensions,D, were computed. Regions underlain by granitic plutons with similar fragmentation patterns were found to haveD values ranging from 1.15 to 1.28 within a single pluton. This range of values is caused by noise and several geologic factors. The values contain noise introduced by the map-making and digitizing procedures that amounts toD1.05. However all values lie well above this threshold, and they correlate closely with local differences in weathering. SmallerD values derive from contours where accumulation of screen or glacial erosion has smoothed the surface, whereas largerD values derive from contours along aretes and in unglaciated terrains. In each of these regions, largerD values occur locally where fractures are most frequent and/or continuous. LargeD values were also derived from regions underlain by host rocks that lie in the near-field region of the stress field caused by the pluton. The fractral values derived are apparently related to the magma-hydrothermal event, they can potentially be used to derive properties of the percolation networks that were active during the hydrothermal events. 相似文献

The kinematics of internal structuration in the Gaux thrust sheet (Charleroi Coal basin; Belgium) is explained with the help of a geometric model. This model is controlled by the distribution of Landelies red breccia outcrops that was syntectonically deposited, probably during the Namurian. We suggest that the tectono-sedimentary evolution was controlled by (1) the growth of a Fault-propagation fold, (2) the formation of collapse structures and (3) localized interbed extension.

The Pénestin section (southern Brittany) presents large regular undulations, commonly interpreted as evidence of periglacial
pingos. It is an upper Neogene palaeoestuary of the Vilaine River reactivated during the middle Quaternary (middle terrace).
It is incised into a thick kaolinitic saprolite and deformed by saprolite diapirs. This paper presents the arguments leading
to a mechanistic interpretation of the deformations at Pénestin. Neither recent transpressive tectonics nor diagnostic evidence
of periglacial pingo have been found despite evidence for a late paleo-permafrost. The major deformational process is shale
diapirism, initially triggered by co-seismic water supply, with further loading and lateral spreading on an already deformed
and deeply weathered basement, which allowed the shale diapirism to develop. Deformations are favoured by the liquefaction
of the saprolite and a seaward mass movement and recorded, rather distant, effects of an earthquake (c. 280 ka B.P.) resulting
from the progressive subsidence of the southern Armorican margin. These deformations triggered by an earthquake are similar
to those induced by classical shale diapirism. They are probably common in tectonically active continental environments with

CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) and CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) became an International GNSS Service (IGS) Analysis Center (AC) the 20th of May 2010. Since 2009, we are using the integer ambiguity fixing at the zero-difference level strategy in our software package (GINS/Dynamo) as an alternative to classical differential approaches. This method played a key role among all the improvements in the GPS processing we made during this period. This paper provides to the users the theoretical background, the strategies and the models used to compute the products (GPS orbits and clocks, weekly station coordinate estimates and Earth orientation parameters) that are submitted weekly to the IGS. The practical realization of the two-step, ambiguity-fixing scheme (wide-lane and narrow-lane) is described in detail. The ambiguity fixing improved our orbit overlaps from 6 to 3?cm WRMS in the tangential and normal directions. Since 2008, our products have been also regularly compared to the IGS final solutions by the IGS Analysis Center Coordinator. The joint effects of ambiguity fixing and dynamical model changes (satellite solar radiation pressure and albedo force) improved the consistency with IGS orbits from 35 to 18?mm 3D-WRMS. Our innovative strategy also gives additional powerful properties to the GPS satellite phase clock solutions. Single receiver (zero-difference) ambiguity resolution becomes possible. This experimental study sheds light on the complexation of gold in reduced sulphur-bearing vapour, specifically, in H2O-H2S gas mixtures. The solubility of gold was determined in experiments at temperatures of 300, 350 and 365 °C and reached 2.2, 6.6 and 6.3 μg/kg, respectively. The density of the vapour varied from 0.02 to 0.22 g/cm3, the mole fraction of H2S varied from 0.03 to 0.96, and the pressure in the cell reached 263 bar. Statistically significant correlations of the amount of gold dissolved in the fluid with the fugacity of H2O and H2S permit the experimental data to be fitted to a solvation/hydration model. According to this model, the solubility of gold in H2O-H2S gas mixtures is controlled by the formation of sulphide or bisulphide species solvated by H2S or H2O molecules. Formation of gold sulphide species is favoured statistically over gold bisulphide species and thus the gold is interpreted to dissolve according to reactions of the form:

Well-laminated plagioclase-rich rocks (‘anorthosite’) occur as layers in mineralogically similar but massive rocks in the
Sept Iles intrusion. Several phases of crystallization of poikilitic clinopyroxene have preserved the intermediate stages
in the production of these rocks. Plagioclase nucleated and initially grew in random orientations in the stationary part of
the boundary layer. There, in the absence of other events, crystallization produced the massive anorthosite. The laminated
anorthosite may have been produced by episodic increases in the velocity of the magma adjacent to the boundarylayer induced
by magmatic density-currents. Such currents would have caused the zone of simple shear of the boundary-layer to migrate outwards
into the previously stationary part. This simple shear would then have rotated the existing plagioclase crystals, as well
as crystals that nucleated at that time, towards the shear-plane. Some rocks show evidence of several periods of enhanced
flow-velocities. The production of the lamination may have weakened the crystal-mush and enabled slumping to occur, producing
folds and contorted layers. Finally, compaction liberated large quantities of intercumulus magma of which some was trapped
as granophyric segregations and some escaped by overturing and churning the crystal-pile. Earlier-formed granophyric segregations
and laminated layers were disrupted during this process to produce a range of more-complex rocks including igneous breccias. 相似文献

If anatexis takes place in the presence of an immiscible volatile-rich fluid phase, the behaviour of a trace element depends not only on partition coefficients Di ? between mineral i and silicate liquid, but also on coefficients Di f between mineral i and fluid. The limited experimental data available, as well as theoretical arguments, suggest that for common minerals these coefficients differ, in some cases (REE) notably.Theory has been developed to permit calculation of concentration variations with the fraction F of rock melted, if D-values are known. In its present state this theory neglects the influence of T, P and composition variations in liquid and fluid on the D-values: if such variations can be expressed as functions of F, appropriate modifications can be made. The theory also neglects the effects of T and P on the solubility of fluid in liquid and the resulting modifications to phase petrology, by assuming simply that a given mass of rock melts in the presence of a mass proportion v of fluid. By choosing different values of v, from 0 (dry melting) to 100 (large fluid excess), the response of the trace element concentrations can be followed, beginning with concentration co in the unmelted rock.
