Coastal erosion has become a worldwide concern, typically in the densely populated Asian mega-river deltas. Severe coastal erosion in the southern Red River Delta(RRD) has been intensively studied. Coastal morphological change in the northern RRD was examined in detail through DEM(Digital Elevation Model) analysis based on time series of bathymetrical maps(1965–2004) and Landsat images(1975–2015) in this study. The results show that the northern RRD is featured by rapid coastal accretion in the past few decades, although suspended sediment flux has dropped by roughly 60% after the completeness of Hoa Binh Dam(HBD) in 1988 and relative sea level rose at 1.9 mm yr~(-1). However, accretion at the outer part of subtidal shoals and platforms was observed to slow down quickly or even turned into erosion in the last two decades. The resuspended sediments from the erosion zone can be transported landward to replenish the inner coastal zone, keeping the latter accretion in the near future to compensate for the sediment discharge decrease from the river. However, this lag effect should be terminated soon if other adverse effects go worse, e.g., damming rivers, sea-level rising, strengthening storms, land reclamation and other poor-designed coastal engineering. Coastal planners and managers should pay full attention to these changes.  相似文献

Hoang Su Phi is a mountainous district in Ha Giang province, Vietnam. When the rainy season arrives in these parts, flash floods (besides landslides), frequently occur in many areas, seriously affecting the socio‐economic condition of the district. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed an early warning system for flash floods, established based on a geomorphological and hydrological approach. The basic principle underlying this system is the fact that flash floods will often occur where there is high potential risk with sufficient rainfall. In the model, eight parameters of the basin were used to build a potential flash flood map. Using the spatial processing module in an open source software, early predictions from automatic weather stations were interpolated and processed online to produce a potential risk map. Depending on the threshold of precipitation values, the results determined locations where flash flood may occur at various flash flood risk indices (FFRI). The system may be applied to support provision of early flash flood warning up to 1?6 days in advance in the district, allowing the local government ample time to make appropriate decisions on the prevention and/or mitigation of damages caused by flash flood hazards.  相似文献

To study the effects of changes in the rainfall intensity on sediment concentrations in the Loess Plateau,the observed rainfall intensities and sediment concentrations from three typical small watersheds were used to analyze the relationship between these parameters.The results showed that the sediment concentration generally increased with the increasing rainfall intensity on slope scale.However,at watershed scale,a significant threshold phenomenon was observed for the effects of the rainfall intensity on the sediment concentration.When the rainfall intensity exceeds the threshold,the flood sediment concentration will no longer increase with the increase in the rainfall intensity.The rainfall intensity threshold increased with increasing vegetation coverage.The rainfall intensity threshold was 10–15 mm/h during 1956–1969,reached 20 mm/h from 1990 to 1997 and is approximately 40 mm/h at present.Due to a rainfall intensity of 10–15 mm/h almost happened every year,the vegetation did not change much from the 1950s to 1980s.Sediment yield mainly depends on soil erosion caused by surface flow,but the surface flow speed does not increase indefinitely with the increase in the flow discharge.Thus,the annual maximum sediment concentration of the tributaries in the loess area has been basically stable before the 1990s.  相似文献

开展强起伏地形等复杂条件下的多光谱数据处理实用方法研究,是使中高山地区多光谱定量化解释成果水平取得明显提高的重要途径之一。本文根据地形因素对航空多光谱图像地质解释影响的特点、多光谱仪的成像方式,应用简化的太阳辐射能量平衡原理,研究了如何从航空多光谱图像像元的亮度变化中消除地形影响,模拟生成反射率图像的新方法。新方法综合考虑了地表太阳辐照度的变化、地物的光谱反射率、反照率和热辐射信息,与目前常规的处理技术(如比值法和剩余对数法) 相比,消除了地形坡度和坡向变化对图像解释的影响,保留了地物反照率信息,为多光谱定量化解释提供了更合理有效的反射率图像,对超光谱数据的处理和解释均有潜在的应用价值。  相似文献

During the Meiyu period in June and July of 1998, intensified field observations have been carried out for the project “Huaihe River Basin Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (HUBEX)”. For studying Meiyu front and its precipitation in Huaihe River basin, the present paper has performed analysis on the middle and lower level wind fields in the troposphere by using the radar data obtained from the two Doppler radars located at Fengtai district and Shouxian County. From June 29 to July 3 in 1998, the continuous heavy precipitation occurred in Huaihe River basin around Meiyu front. The precipitation process on July 2 occurred within the observation range of the two Doppler radar in Fengtai district and Shouxian County. The maximum rainfall of the Meiyu front was over 100 mm in 24 h, so it can be regarded as a typical mesoscale heavy precipitation process related to Meiyu front. Based on the wind field retrieved from the dual Doppler radar, we find that there are meso-γ scale vertical circulations in the vertical cross-section perpendicular to Meiyu front, the strong upward motion of which corresponds to the position of the heavy rainfall area. Furthermore, other results obtained by this study are identical with the results by analyzing the conventional synoptic data years ago. For example: in the vicinity of 3 km level height ahead of Meiyu front there exists a southwest low-level jet; the rainstorm caused by Meiyu front mainly occurs at the left side of the southwest low-level jet; and the Meiyu front causes the intensification of the low-level convergence in front of it. Monitoring of sedimentation and erosion was conducted on an open coastal tidal flat on the southern flank of the Yangtze delta. Various elevation references were established in the intertidal zone and monitored intensively for 4 months in order to examine fortnightly and seasonal (calm weather and storm season) sedimentation and erosion. Longer term (100 years) sedimentation and preservation were investigated through examination of cores and trenches. Two different vertical grouping patterns of tidal bedding were distinguished with thinner and thicker sandy laminae. The number of sand-dominated layers and individual muddy and sandy lamina in the cores were compared with theoretically derived sedimentation rates in order to assess long-term preservation potential. Waves, especially high storm waves, have a significant influence on sedimentation and the preservation of intertidal deposits along the open-coast tidal flat. Monitoring during one season indicated that the sand-dominated layer was directly related to storm deposits, while the mud-dominated layer was deposited during calm weather conditions. The variation in sandy lamina thickness was not related to spring–neap tidal cycles during the monitoring period. The assumption of 100% preservation of sandy laminae deposited during every tidal cycle, which has been assumed in previous time-series analyses for the identification of palaeotidal periodicity, was found to be unrealistic along this open-coast tidal flat. Preservation potential decreases as temporal scale increases. During one neap–spring tidal cycle, the preservation potential of individual sandy and muddy laminae was of the order of 10%. Over a period of 100 years, the estimated preservation potential of individual laminae, including both calm weather and storm deposits, decreased to 0·2%. The 100-year preservation potential of storm-induced, sand-dominated layers was estimated to be of the order of 10%.  相似文献

Magnetic properties of two samples of crocidolite (blue asbestos) have been examined using susceptibility and magnetization measurements, neutron diffraction, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Both samples order magnetically at 30±1 K with a structure in which iron ions in the ribbons parallel to c are all coupled ferromagnetically but the moments of adjacent ribbons are oppositely aligned. The iron moments are oriented at angles of about 69°, 36°, 69° with the a, b, c axes, respectively. A spin flop transition of the antiferromagnetically coupled ribbons occurs in an applied field of 15 kOe at 4.2 K, and a ratio of intraribbon to interribbon exchange interactions of about 10 is inferred. Mössbauer spectra at 4.2 K are decomposed into a ferric pattern with a hyperfine field of 550 kOe, associated with M2 sites, and two ferrous patterns with hyperfine fields of 200 and 100 kOe, associated with M1 and M3 sites, respectively. Each ferrous hyperfine field is oriented perpendicular to V zz , the principal component of the electric field gradient, which is negative for both sites: V zz =?2.65 mm/s, η=0.1 for M1 and V zz =?2.9 mm/s, η=0.3 for M3. As in sheet silicates, the field gradients suggest pseudo-trigonal distortions of the ferrous sites symmetry, which stabilize 5 A 1g orbital singlet states.  相似文献
