火山口地下构造详细的地震成像对于增进这些高危险火山的构造和火山学的知识是必不可少的。然而,在火山地带,尤其是在岸上,很难获得高质量的地震数据。我们报道了拉福萨火山口(意大利武尔卡诺岛)西部地区的高分辨率地震剖面结果。利用高分辨率的振动源及交替采集和处理技术,我们能够克服由火山煤岩类型带来的大多数困难。本研究提供了火山堆积的地下分布和一些重要内部喷火山口构造的识别。我们确定了埋于拉福萨火山口下面的寄生火山口或玄武碎屑岩丘的位置,它在约1km的深度记录到地震的地方正在消散CO2。此外,在剖面最南部发现的变形模式与穹隆侵入后破火山口塌陷是一致的。结果表明,使用高分辨率振动源结合交替地震采集技术和非常规处理方法,可以帮助恢复火山地区浅层构造的详细信息。 相似文献

Instability structures, synsedimentary faults and turbidites have been studied in the Lower Pliensbachian succession of Saint-Michel-en-Beaumont, belonging to the Taillefer block, an ancient half-graben emplaced during the Liassic Tethyan rifting. Geometrical and mechanical analyses demonstrate that the instability structures occurred thanks to movements along spineless synsedimentary normal faults, when the turbiditic and limestone layers were already case-hardened and partly fractured by tension gashes even when the mudstones were still unlithified. Both the tension gashes and the synsedimentary faults are homogeneous in strike with the major regional faults and are in good agreement with the regional direction of extension for this period. The characters of the turbiditic beds, with erosive base, graded bedding, and incomplete Bouma sequence, are in favour of a seismic origin. Instability structures, spineless synsedimentary faults and turbiditic inflows are thus considered as seismites and interpreted as the result of high seismicity periods including some events with M > 5 in the general extensive ambiance of the Liassic Tethyan rifting. The analysis of the geometrical relationships between all these sedimentary features allows to distinguish the successive stage of occurrence of an instability structure, from the sedimentation of alternating marls and limestones, and sudden turbiditic inflows, then early case-hardening of the turbidites, until the important seismotectonic event generating the spineless normal faults, themselves triggering the fall of indurated blocks and locally the forming of breccias. The Ornon Fault, which constitutes the border of the Taillefer block, 15 km eastward, played a major role during the Liassic sedimentation and may represent the major seismic fault related to the seismites occurrence in the Beaumont basin. 相似文献

The solar wind–magnetosphere coupled system is characterized by dynamical processes. Recent works have shown that nonlinear couplings and turbulence might play a key role in the study of solar wind–magnetosphere interaction processes.Within this framework, this study presents a statistical analysis aimed to investigate the relationship between solar wind MHD turbulence and geomagnetic activity at high and low latitudes as measured by the AE and SYM-H indices, respectively. This analysis has been performed for different phases of solar cycle 23. The state of turbulence was characterized by means of 2-D histograms of the normalized cross-helicity and the normalized residual energy. The geomagnetic response was then studied in relation to those histograms.The results found clearly show that, from a statistical point of view, solar cycle 23 is somewhat peculiar. Indeed, good Alfvénic correlations are found unexpectedly even during solar activity maximum. This fact has implications on the geomagnetic response as well since a statistical relationship is found between Alfvénic fluctuations and auroral activity. Conversely, solar wind turbulence does not seem to play a relevant role in the geomagnetic response at low latitudes. 相似文献

The Gulf of Naples (Southern Tyrrhenian Sea) is a highly urbanised area, where human activities and natural factors (e.g.
river runoff, exchanges with adjacent basins) can strongly affect the water quality. In this work we show how surface transport
can influence the distribution of passively drifting surface matter, and more in general if and how the circulation in the
basin can promote the renovation of the surface layer. To this aim, we carried out a multiplatform analysis by putting together
HF radar current fields, satellite images and modelling tools. Surface current fields and satellite images of turbidity patterns
were used to initialise and run model simulations of particle transport and diffusion. Model results were then examined in
relation to the corresponding satellite distributions. This integrated approach permits to investigate the concurrent effects
of surface dynamics and wind forcing in determining the distribution of passive tracers over the basin of interest, identifying
key mechanisms supporting or preventing the renewal of surface waters as well as possible areas of aggregation and retention. 相似文献

Variations of the magnetic field and plasma parameters across the Earth's magnetosheath are calculated for an anisotropic
plasma in the Chew-Goldberger-Low approximation. Additionally, proton pitch-angle diffusion is taken into account as the energy
transfer mechanism between the direction perpendicular and parallel to the magnetic field. We discuss the main characteristics
of the magnetic barrier for different temperature relaxation times and their dependence on the interplanetary magnetic field
orientation.

The core of the turbidity maximum zone in the Saint-Lawrence Estuary is located in the North Channel and oscillates in front of the large (3×106 m2) intertidal flats and marshes of Cap Tourmente. It is shown that seasonal fluctuations in the intensity and the position of this core are mainly determined by suspended sediment exchanges between the channel and the marshes. Fine sediments, most of them found 20 km downstream in the channel off Cap Maillard in late winter and early spring, are advected upstream over the flats during the summer months by the tide. The deposition, favored by marsh plant growth, reaches 5×105 metric tons in three months. A period of intense erosion, at a mean rate of 4,500 metric tons per tide, coincides with the destruction of the plant cover by migratory geese. The material removed fills up the Chenal de l’Île d’Orléans upstream and is flushed back into the water column during the next spring freshette. This rotating seasonal sediment circulation, although very localized, exerts a major influence on the distribution and storage time of suspended particles in the upper estuary. 相似文献

Stone masonry is one of the oldest building techniques used worldwide and it is known to exhibit poor behaviour under seismic
excitations. In this context, this work aims at assessing the in-plane behaviour of an existing double-leaf stone masonry
pier by experimental testing. Additionally, a detailed 3D finite element numerical analysis based on micro-modelling of the
original pier is presented (fully describing the geometry and division of each individual elements, namely infill, blocks
and joints) aiming at simulating the experimental test results. This numerical strategy can be seen as an alternative way
of analysing this type of constructions, particularly useful for laboratory studies, and suitable for the calibration of simplified
numerical models. As part of a wider research activity, this work is further complemented with the presentation of an effective
retrofit/strengthening technique (reinforced connected plaster) to achieve a significant improvement of its in-plane cyclic

The characteristic environmental load effect for the design of mooring systems of floating units can be defined by means of three procedures: (a) the one associated to an extreme sea state with a given return period, (b) the worst one from a set of sea states on a contour line associated to a return period or (c) the extreme one based on response statistics for a long-term period. This work presents the result of a reliability-based partial safety factor calibration study for a LRFD mooring line design criteria considering the three approaches mentioned above. The calibration exercise is applied to three FPSOs considering North Sea environmental conditions and different water depths: 200, 800 and 3000 m. The mooring systems investigated take into account mooring lines made up of chains and polyester ropes. It is shown that, among all cases investigated, the design procedure based on the long-term response is the one that presents less scattered reliability indices around the target level. 相似文献

We demonstrate the possibility to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of superconducting gravity time-series by correcting for
local hydrological effects. Short-term atmospheric events associated with heavy rain induce step-like gravity signals that
deteriorate the frequency spectrum estimates. Based on 4D modeling constrained by high temporal resolution rain gauge data,
rainfall admittances for the Vienna and Membach superconducting gravity stations are calculated. This allows routine correction
for Newtonian rain water effects, which reduces the standard deviation of residuals after tidal parameter adjustment by 10%.
It also improves the correction of steps of instrumental origin when they coincide with step-like water mass signals. 相似文献
