A one-dimensional, self consistent theoretical model is constructed for double layers in a thermodynamically nonequilibrium astrophysical plasma. A steady state is maintained by an asymmetry in the fluxes from both sides. The range of possible values of the parameters is determined.  相似文献

Photospheric magnetic fields were studied using the Kitt Peak synoptic maps for 1976?–?2003. Only strong magnetic fields (B>100 G) of the equatorial region were taken into account. The north–south asymmetry of the magnetic fluxes was considered as well as the imbalance between positive and negative fluxes. The north–south asymmetry displays a regular alternation of the dominant hemisphere during the solar cycle: the northern hemisphere dominated in the ascending phase, the southern one in the descending phase during Solar Cycles 21?–?23. The sign of the imbalance did not change during the 11 years from one polar-field reversal to the next and always coincided with the sign of the Sun’s polar magnetic field in the northern hemisphere. The dominant sign of leading sunspots in one of the hemispheres determines the sign of the magnetic-flux imbalance. The sign of the north–south asymmetry of the magnetic fluxes and the sign of the imbalance of the positive and the negative fluxes are related to the quarter of the 22-year magnetic cycle where the magnetic configuration of the Sun remains constant (from the minimum where the sunspot sign changes according to Hale’s law to the magnetic-field reversal and from the reversal to the minimum). The sign of the north–south asymmetry for the time interval considered was determined by the phase of the 11-year cycle (before or after the reversal); the sign of the imbalance of the positive and the negative fluxes depends on both the phase of the 11-year cycle and on the parity of the solar cycle. The results obtained demonstrate the connection of the magnetic fields in active regions with the Sun’s polar magnetic field in the northern hemisphere.  相似文献

The solution of the classical problem of two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) interaction between two shocks (the angle between the interacting shocks and the slope of the magnetic field are arbitrary) obtained by Pushkar' (1995) is applied to the problem of interaction between interplanetary shocks and the solar wind termination shock (TS). The self-consistent kinetic-gasdynamic model of solar wind interaction with the supersonic flow of a three-component (electrons, protons, and hydrogen atoms) interstellar medium developed for the axisymmetric, steady-state case by Baranov and Malama (1993) is used as the stationary background against which the physical phenomenon under consideration takes place. The main physical process in this model is the resonant charge exchange between protons and hydrogen atoms. This paper is a natural continuation of our previous papers (Baranov et al. 1996a, 1996b). However, whereas attention in these papers was focused on the TS interaction with an interplanetary forward shock moving away from the Sun, here we consider the TS interaction with an interplanetary reverse shock (RS) moving toward the Sun with a velocity lower than the solar-wind velocity. We show that the TS-RS interaction can give rise to a new TS' that moves toward the Sun, i.e., toward Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. This phenomenon may be responsible for the unexpected suggestion made by some of the scientists that Voyager 1 already crossed TS in the past year. This conclusion was drawn from the interpretation of the intensity, energy spectra, and angular distributions of ions in the energy range from 10 keV to 40 MeV measured from this spacecraft. Our results show that Voyager 1 could cross TS' rather than TS.  相似文献

The evolution of the trajectories of small objects not entirely ejected from the solar system and subject to significant perturbations owing to the regular galactic field is studied. These objects may be individual dust particles, comets, or, in the case of other stars, large dust clouds and stellar satellites. The possibility of averaging their motion over the period of the galactic rotation is examined. The averaged equations are solved in terms of elliptic functions. The eccentricity of the orbit also evolves, but returns periodically to its original value, ~1, corresponding to ejection if the interaction with individual stars is neglected. The slope of the line of apsides with respect to the galactic plane evolves in two ways: with time it either passes through 90° or through 0°.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to investigate the accretion of matter onto a compact gravitating remnant (neutron star) in the central region of the expanding shell of a Type II supernova. Computations of an explosion with the energetics of a Type II supernova have been performed to derive the structure of matter in the vicinity of the neutron star. The energy of the expanding shell and the parameters of the presupernova correspond to the known values for SN 1987A. This accretion leads to the formation of a layer of fairly dense and hot gas at the surface of the compact remnant, providing the conditions for nucleosynthesis reactions. Thus, one result of the study is to demonstrate the importance of the r and rbc processes, or explosive nucleosynthesis, in the compact envelope of a neutron star. A second result is the production of emission lines from unstable elements formed in the central part of the neutron-star envelope.

Data on Middle and Upper Devonian deposits studied in southeastern flank of the Siberian platform are considered. A scheme of stratigraphic zoning in the study region is presented. Nineteen sedimentological and biotic events, which are recorded in the studied sections, are of the regional, interregional and global ranks. Their connection with eustatic sea-level fluctuations is established. Sections of the formation and regional horizon stratotypes and parastratotypes are described.
