In October and November of 2010, the gelatinous macroplankton in the northwestern Black Sea and at the Crimean shelf was represented by the scyphozoan jellyfish Aurelia aurita, three species of ctenophores (Beroe ovata, Mnemiopsis leidyi, and Pleurobrachia pileus), and three species of hydromedusae. A. aurita was more common at the shelf, M. leidyi and P. pileus prevailed at the deeper sea stations, and B. ovata was almost ubiquitous with a biomass from below 1 to 49 g/m2 A. aurita, which had an average biomass of 82–224 g/m2, was dominant at all the stations. M. leidyi, which had a biomass from below 1 to 115 g/m2, was recorded in October at only 14 of the 52 stations and in November at 20 of the 46 stations. The highest biomass of M. leidyi in October (105 to 116 g/m2) was recorded in the deep sea areas; in November, it was also the highest in these areas, but it reached at most 100 g/m2. The average daily ration of Aurelia ranged from 19.4 to 27.3 mg/m2 in October and from 7.0 to 17.2 mg/m2 in November; in both cases, it was insufficient to provide for the minimal physiological requirements. The average daily ration of the Mnemiopsis population (2.8–20.5 mg of zooplankton per m2) was invariably more than sufficient to provide for the minimal physiological requirements. From 2000 to 2006, a total of 75 bivalve species were identified, varying from 29 (spring 2001) to 54 species (spring 2005) per year. Seasonal tendencies in diversity varied according the year, thus the interpretation of long-term and regional scales is essential before drawing any conclusions in other studies. Richness and diversity consistently decreased with depth and increased with sediment grain size (from low in very coarse sand to high in coarse silt). Diversity decreased progressively from 3 to 16 m depth, thus the harsher shallower environments (due to waves and tidal air exposure) showed greater diversity than the most stable areas. Communities in finer sediments were more diverse than those in coarser sand. Evenness showed patterns opposite to diversity, overall.Diversity and evenness maps (produced with multivariate universal kriging), showed that most geographic areas with greater diversity were farer from river outflows and wastewater treatment plants. Two types of geographic pattern were observed: areas with persistently greater bivalve diversity through time and areas that changed locally from year to year. This spatial analysis can be used to establish priority conservation areas for management purposes, and to analyse the persistency of regional diversity patterns. The area with most habitat heterogeneity (Sotavento) corresponded to greatest diversity.There was a positive relationship between Spisula solida and Chamelea gallina landings and bivalve diversity 2 years and 1 year later, respectively. Possibly, local fisheries, by selectively withdrawing the commercial numerically dominant species from the ecosystem, increased diversity 1 to 2 years later, as the ecological niches of the dominants are quickly filled by several other species thereby creating a more even community. The hygroscopic properties of a model smoke aerosol series including ammonium sulfate, levoglucosan, and oxalic and humic acids were investigated. The condensation growth of particles and the relative humidity of direct and inverse particle-droplet phase transitions were measured with a tandem differential mobility analyzer. The data were obtained in the range of relative humidity from 4 to 95% at 298 K. Experimental growth factors were compared to the results of Koehler theory by using contemporary models of water activity in particles. It was shown that the hygroscopic properties of the aerosols were substantially different from the hygroscopic properties of the corresponding bulk phases. It was found that a complex microstructure of nanoparticles resulted in excess volume absorption of water, in some cases causing their full deliquescence at lower relative humidities than in macrosystems of identical composition. From the measurement data, a parametrization of hygroscopic particle growth was performed. The results of parametrization can be used to construct refined models of a smoke aerosol. 相似文献

Average concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu, and other metals, as well as S and As, were calculated for the Aue granitic cupola,
the contact aureole of which hosts the large vein-type uranium deposit of Schlema-Alberoda and the Schneeberg uranium-base
metal deposit (Erzgebirge, Germany). The cupola was exposed by mine workings and boreholes, which provided an opportunity
to evaluate variations in the abundances of metals in the granites over a vertical interval of more than 2.5 km and estimate
their losses in the upper oxidized part of the investigated volume of the cupola (coefficient of iron oxidation, KO
Fe, increases in the granites from bottom to top from 7 to 70%) compared with the lower unaltered and unoxidized part (with
a KO
Fe plateau at about 5%). The average concentrations of metals in the upper part of the cupola are lower than those in the lower
part by a factor of 2.5 for Pb, 1.56 for Zn, 1.45 for Cu, 1.3 for Co, etc. A similar decrease in the abundances of ore elements
along the vertical section associating with the relative epigenetic alteration and oxidation of the granite was previously
described by us for U and Th and for the components of high-temperature ores, W, Sn, and Mo. The removal of ore elements from
the granite was accompanied by a decrease in the bulk contents of sulfur and arsenic by a factor of 1.35 and 1.65, respectively.
The leaching of trace metals from the granites of the upper part of the Aue cupola was followed by their partial redeposition
above the cupola in the ore veins of the Schlema and Schneeberg deposits.

The strength and deformability of rock mass primarily depend on the condition of joints and their spacing and partially on
the engineering properties of rock matrix. Till today, numerical analysis of discontinuities e.g. joint, fault, shear plane
and others is conducted placing an interface element in between two adjacent rock matrix elements. However, the applicability
of interface elements is limited in rock mechanics problems having multiple discontinuities due to its inherent numerical
difficulties often leading to non-convergent solution. Recent developments in extended finite element method (XFEM) having
strong discontinuity imbedded within a regular element provide an opportunity to analyze discrete discontinuities in rock
masses without any numerical difficulties. This concept is based on partition of unity principle and can be used for cohesive
rock joints. This paper summarizes the mathematical frameworks for the implementation of strong discontinuities in 3 and 6
nodded triangular elements and also provides numerical examples of the application of XFEM in one and two dimensional problems
