In Central Iran, the mixed siliciclastic?carbonate Nakhlak Group of Triassic age is commonly seen to have a Cimmerian affinity, although it shows considerable resemblances with the Triassic Aghdarband Group in far northeastern Iran, east of Kopeh-Dagh area, with Eurasian affinity. The Nakhlak Group is composed of the Alam (Late Olenekian?Anisian), Baqoroq (Late Anisian??Early Ladinian), and Ashin (Ladinian??Early Carnian) formations consisting mainly of volcanoclastic sandstone and shale and fossiliferous limestone. The Baqoroq Formation contains also metamorphic detritus. Sandstone petrofacies reflect the detrital evolution from active volcanism to growing orogen and again active volcanism. Textural and modal analyses of volcanic lithic fragments from the Alam Formation reflect the eruption style and magma composition of a felsic to intermediate syn-sedimentary arc activity. The detrital modes of the Baqoroq Formation sediments suggest a recycled orogenic source followed by arc activity in a remnant fore-arc basin. The sandstone samples from the Ashin Formation demonstrate a continuity of felsic to intermediate arc activity. Major and trace element concentrations of the Nakhlak Group clastic samples support sediment supply from first-cycle material and felsic magmatic arc input. The enrichment in LREE, the negative Eu anomalies, and the flat HREE patterns indicate origination from the old upper continental crust and young arc material. The chemical index of alteration (CIA ~51–70 for sandstone and 64–76 for shale samples) indicates medium degrees of chemical weathering at the source. Petrographical and geochemical evidence together with facies analysis constructed the following depositional conditions for the Nakhlak Group sediments: In the Olenekian, a fore-arc shallow to deep marine depositional basin developed that later was filled by recycled and arc-related detritus and changed into a continental basin in the Anisian. Ladinian extension let to a deepening of the basin. With respect to the similarities between the Nakhlak and Aghdarband (NE Iran) groups and unusual present-day position of the Nakhlak Group with no stratigraphic connection to the surrounding area, the development of first a fore-arc basin and later change into a back-arc depositional basin in close relation with the Aghdarband basin at the southern Eurasian active margin in the Triassic are here proposed. Understanding the basin development recorded in the Nakhlak Group provides constraints on the closure history of Palaeotethys and of the tectonic evolution of early Mesozoic basins at the southern Eurasian margin before the Cimmerian Orogeny.  相似文献

This research work deals with the problem of karst sinkhole collapse occurring in the last few years in Cheria area (NE Algeria). This newly revealed phenomenon is of a major constrain in land use planning and urbanization, it has become necessary to locate and assess the stability of these underground features before any planning operation. Several exploration methods for the localization of underground cavities have been considered. Geological survey, discontinuity analysis, resistivity survey [ground penetrating radar has not been used as most of the Mio-Plio-Quaternary filling deposit covering Eocene limestone contains clay layers which limits the applicability of the method (Roth et al. in Eng Geol 65:225–232, 2002)] and borehole drilling were undertaken in order to locate underground cavities and assess their depth, geometry, dimensions, etc. Laboratory testing and field work were also undertaken in order to determine both intact rock and rock mass properties. All the rock mechanics testing and measurement were undertaken according to the ISRM recommendations. It has been found that under imposed loading, the stability of the karst cavities depends on the geo-mechanical parameters (RMR, Rock Mass Rating; GSI, Geological Strength Index; E, Young modulus) of the host rock as well as the depth and dimensions of the gallery. It increases with RMR, GSI, E and depth and decreases as the cavity becomes wider. Furthermore, the calculation results show that a ratio (roof thickness to gallery width) of 0.3 and more indicate, a stable conditions. The results obtained in this work allow identifying and assessing the stability of underground karst cavities. The methodology followed in this paper can be taken as a road map in the establishment of a hazard map related to the studied phenomenon. This map will be a useful tool for the future urban extension planning in Cheria area.  相似文献

Masjed-Daghi is located in Julfa sheet (1:100,000 series) in the northwest of Iran. The area consists of a very likely gold mineralization bearing epithermal mineralization which appears to be associated with a porphyry Cu–Mo system at deeper levels. Ninety-three soil samples were collected and analyzed for 13 elements (Au, Mo, Cu, Pb, Sn, Ag, Zn, Cr, Mn, Ba, Be, Ni, Co) by using emission spectrometry and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The data were processed and interpreted using univariate and multivariate statistical analyses. The distribution of the majority of variables is slightly to moderately positively skewed which can be interpreted by log-normal model. Only Ni, Be, and Mn show normal distribution. Based on cluster analysis, the variables can be classified into two main groups. The first group consists of the main ore forming elements such as Au, Ag, and Ba which belong to epithermal system and Mo, Sn, and Cu which have more affiliation to porphyry mineralization. The principal component analysis extracted three factors. These factors calculated using varimax rotated R-mode factor loading matrix account for more than 65 % of the total variance. The first factor represents the main constituents of the epithermal system (Au, Ag, Ba) and its geochemical halo at the northeast of the study area. The second factor represents the main constituents of the porphyry system (Cu, Mo, Sn) and its geochemical halo in the western part of the study area which is overlapped with the volcanic rocks affected by local intrusions with higher alteration overprint. The third factor, however with less significance, represents Pb and Zn which are not the main ore constituents but can be considered as pathfinder elements. The results have been used to locate hidden orebodies using presented factor score mapping.  相似文献

Acid mine waters have the potential to seriously impair the environmental quality of aquatic systems long after mining activities have ceased. This detailed study of dissolved and particulate metal fluxes from adits, drains and streams in the River Tamar catchment, southwest England, showed that seven specific sources, of the 25 adits and streams surveyed, accounted for more than 75% each of the 13 t a− 1 Fe, 4.3 t a− 1 Mn, 4.2 t a− 1 Cu, 3.6 t a− 1 Zn and 1.4 t a− 1 As that we estimated to be discharged annually from the abandoned metalliferous mining area centred around Calstock and Gunnislake. Upstream of this study area, widespread multi-metallic mineralisation contributed to the flux of Fe, Mn, As, Co, Cu and Zn within the River Tamar. Simple mass balance calculations indicated that a large proportion (≥ 50% for most dissolved and particulate metals) of the metal flux in the River Tamar was unaccounted for by our survey, and therefore is likely to have an important diffuse component, which is subject to ongoing investigations. Potential impacts of mine contamination on the estuarine environment are discussed. The study provided information necessary to prioritise monitoring and remediation efforts in the context of sustainable catchment management.  相似文献

We present a comprehensive treatment of the spectrum of electric dipole emission from spinning dust grains, updating the commonly used model of Draine & Lazarian. Grain angular velocity distributions are computed using the Fokker–Planck equation; we revisit the drift and diffusion coefficients for the major torques on the grain, including collisions, grain-plasma interactions and infrared emission. We use updated grain optical properties and size distributions. The theoretical formalism is implemented in the companion code, spdust , which is publicly available. The effect of some environmental and grain parameters on the emissivity is shown and analysed.  相似文献

The Sirstan granitoid (SG), comprising diorite and granodiorite, is located in the Shalair Valley area, in the northeastern part of Iraq within the Sanandaj–Sirjan Zone (SSZ) of the Zagros Orogenic Belt. The U–Pb zircon dating of the SG rocks has revealed a concordia age of 110 Ma, which is interpreted as the age of crystallization of this granitoid body during the Middle Cretaceous. The whole-rock Rb–Sr isochron data shows an age of 52.4 ± 9.4 Ma (MSWD = 1.7), which implies the reactivation of the granitoid body in the Early Eocene due to the collision between the Arabian and Iranian plates. These rocks show metaluminous affinity with low values of Nb, Ta and Ti compared to chondrite, suggesting the generation of these rocks over the subduction zone in an active continental margin regime. The SG rocks are hornblende-bearing I-type granitoids with microgranular mafic enclaves. The positive values of ?Nd (t = 110 Ma) (+0.1 to +2.7) and the low (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios (0.7044 to 0.7057) indicate that the magma source of the SG granitoids is a depleted subcontinental mantle. The chemical and isotope compositions show that the SG body originated from the metasomatic mantle without a major role for continental contamination. Our findings show that the granitoid bodies distributed in the SSZ were derived from the continuous Neo-Tethys subduction beneath the SSZ in Mesozoic times and that the SSZ was an active margin in the Middle Cretaceous.  相似文献

Enhancing of the efficient tissue culture protocol for somatic embryos would facilitate the engineered breeding plants program. In this report, we describe the reproducible protocol of Malaysian rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar MR219 through somatic embryogenesis. Effect of a wide spectrum of exogenesis materials was assessed in three phases, namely callogenesis, proliferation and regeneration. Initially, rice seeds were subjected under various auxin treatments. Secondly, the effect of different concentrations of 2,4-D on callus induction was evaluated. In the next step, the efficiency of different explants was identified. Subsequently, the effects of different auxins, cytokinins, l-proline, casein hydrolysate and potassium metasilicate concentrations on the callus proliferation and regeneration were considered. For the callogenesis phase, 2 mg L?1of 2,4-D and roots were chosen as the best auxin and explant. In the callus proliferation stage, the highest efficiency was observed at week eight in the MS media supplemented with 2 mg L?1 of 2,4-D, 2 mg L?1 of kinetin, 50 mg L?1 of l-proline, 100 mg L?1 of casein hydrolysate and 30 mg L?1 of potassium metasilicate. In the last phase of the research, the MS media added with 3 mg L?1 of kinetin, 30 mg L?1of potassium metasilicate and 2 mg L?1 of NAA were selected. Meanwhile, to promote the roots of regenerated explants, 0.4 mg L?1 of IBA has shown potential as an appropriate activator.  相似文献

This research work deals with the landslide susceptibility assessment using Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and information value (IV) methods along a highway road section in Constantine region, NE Algeria. The landslide inventory map which has a total of 29 single landslide locations was created based on historical information, aerial photo interpretation, remote sensing images, and extensive field surveys. The different landslide influencing geoenvironmental factors considered for this study are lithology, slope gradient, slope aspect, distance from faults, land use, distance from streams, and geotechnical parameters. A thematic layer map is generated for every geoenvironmental factor using Geographic Information System (GIS); the lithological units and the distance from faults maps were extracted from the geological database of the region. The slope gradient, slope aspect, and distance from streams were calculated from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Contemporary land use map was derived from satellite images and field study. Concerning the geotechnical parameters maps, they were determined making use of the geotechnical data from laboratory tests. The analysis of the relationships between the landslide-related factors and the landslide events was then carried out in GIS environment. The AUC plot showed that the susceptibility maps had a success rate of 77 and 66% for IV and AHP models, respectively. For that purpose, the IV model is better in predicting the occurrence of landslides than AHP one. Therefore, the information value method could be used as a landslide susceptibility mapping zonation method along other sections of the A1 highway.  相似文献
