We study a massive cosmic strings with BII symmetries cosmological models in two contexts. The first of them is the standard one with a barotropic equation of state. In the second one we explore the possibility of taking into account variable “constants” (G and Λ). Both models are studied under the self-similar hypothesis. We put special emphasis in calculating the numerical values for the equations of state. We find that for ω∈(0,1], G, is a growing time function while Λ, behaves as positive decreasing time function. If ω=0, both “constants”, G and Λ, behave as true constants.  相似文献

The Optical and UV Monitor (OM), is a small telescope co-aligned with the main XMM-Newton X-ray telescopes. It can perform imaging with six broad band lenticular filters covering the range 180 nm to 600 nm. In addition, two grisms allow the user to obtain low resolution spectra in the same range. The detector is an intensified CCD. The instrument is fully calibrated in the standard UBV Johnson system and also in absolute flux for both filters and grisms. We describe the instrument and its calibration. We present some results and usage statistics.  相似文献

Institutions such as NASA, ESA or JAXA find solutions to distribute data from their missions to the scientific community, and their long term archives. This is a complex problem, as it includes a vast amount of data, several geographically distributed archives, heterogeneous architectures with heterogeneous networks, and users spread around the world. We propose a novel architecture that solves this problem aiming to fulfill the requirements of the final user. Our architecture is a modular system that provides a highly efficient parallel multiprotocol download engine, using a publisher/subscriber policy which helps the final user to obtain data of interest transparently. We have evaluated a first prototype, in collaboration with the ESAC centre in Villafranca del Castillo (Spain) that shows a high scalability and performance, opening a wide spectrum of opportunities.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of dust on the scaling properties of galaxy clusters based on hydrodynamic N -body simulations of structure formation. We have simulated five dust models plus radiative cooling and adiabatic models using the same initial conditions for all runs. The numerical implementation of dust was based on the analytical computations of Montier & Giard. We set up dust simulations to cover different combinations of dust parameters that make evident the effects of size and abundance of dust grains. Comparing our radiative plus dust cooling runs with a purely radiative cooling simulation, we find that dust has an impact on cluster scaling relations. It mainly affects the normalization of the scalings (and their evolution), whereas it introduces no significant differences in their slopes. The strength of the effect critically depends on the dust abundance and grain size parameters as well as on the cluster scaling. Indeed, cooling due to dust is effective in the cluster regime and has a stronger effect on the 'baryon driven' statistical properties of clusters such as   L X– M , Y – M , S – M   scaling relations. Major differences, relative to the radiative cooling model, are as high as 25 per cent for the   L X– M   normalization, and about 10 per cent for the Y – M and S – M normalizations at redshift zero. On the other hand, we find that dust has almost no impact on the 'dark matter driven'   T mw– M   scaling relation. The effects are found to be dependent in equal parts on both dust abundances and grain size distributions for the scalings investigated in this paper. Higher dust abundances and smaller grain sizes cause larger departures from the radiative cooling (i.e. with no dust) model.  相似文献

Over one thousand objects have so far been discovered orbiting beyond Neptune. These trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) represent the primitive remnants of the planetesimal disk from which the planets formed and are perhaps analogous to the unseen dust parent-bodies in debris disks observed around other main-sequence stars. The dynamical and physical properties of these bodies provide unique and important constraints on formation and evolution models of the Solar System. While the dynamical architecture in this region (also known as the Kuiper Belt) is becoming relatively clear, the physical properties of the objects are still largely unexplored. In particular, fundamental parameters such as size, albedo, density and thermal properties are difficult to measure. Measurements of thermal emission, which peaks at far-IR wavelengths, offer the best means available to determine the physical properties. While Spitzer has provided some results, notably revealing a large albedo diversity in this population, the increased sensitivity of Herschel and its superior wavelength coverage should permit profound advances in the field. Within our accepted project we propose to perform radiometric measurements of 139 objects, including 25 known multiple systems. When combined with measurements of the dust population beyond Neptune (e.g. from the New Horizons mission to Pluto), our results will provide a benchmark for understanding the Solar debris disk, and extra-solar ones as well.  相似文献

In this paper we present the South America VLF NETwork (SAVNET), a new observing facility at very low frequencies. It has been recently installed at different locations spread over Latin America, in Brazil, Peru and Argentina. It consists of a network of seven Very Low Frequency (VLF) receivers with the main scientific objective of monitoring the solar activity on short (minutes to hours) and long (years) time scales. Other objectives include a better understanding of the spatial structure of the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly, the study of atmospheric phenomena and the search for genuine seismic-electromagnetic effects. After discussing the scientific goals, the details of the installation are presented as well as the first results recently obtained.  相似文献

We present new high-pressure temperature experiments on melting phase relations of Fe-C-S systems with applications to metallic core formation in planetary interiors. Experiments were performed on Fe-5 wt% C-5 wt% S and Fe-5 wt% C-15 wt% S at 2-6 GPa and 1050-2000 °C in MgO capsules and on Fe-13 wt% S, Fe-5 wt% S, and Fe-1.4 wt% S at 2 GPa and 1600 °C in graphite capsules. Our experiments show that: (a) At a given P-T, the solubility of carbon in iron-rich metallic melt decreases modestly with increasing sulfur content and at sufficiently high concentration, the interaction between carbon and sulfur can cause formation of two immiscible melts, one rich in Fe-carbide and the other rich in Fe-sulfide. (b) The mutual solubility of carbon and sulfur increases with increasing pressure and no super-liquidus immiscibility in Fe-rich compositions is likely expected at pressures greater than 5-6 GPa even for bulk compositions that are volatile-rich. (c) The liquidus temperature in the Fe-C-S ternary is significantly different compared to the binary liquidus in the Fe-C and Fe-S systems. At 6 GPa, the liquidus of Fe-5 wt% C-5 wt% S is 150-200 °C lower than the Fe-5 wt% S. (d) For Fe-C-S bulk compositions with modest concentration of carbon, the sole liquidus phase is iron carbide, Fe3C at 2 GPa and Fe7C3 at 6 GPa and metallic iron crystallizes only with further cooling as sulfur is concentrated in the late crystallizing liquid. Our results suggest that for carbon and sulfur-rich core compositions, immiscibility induced core stratification can be expected for planets with core pressure less than ∼6 GPa. Thus planetary bodies in the outer solar system such as Ganymede, Europa, and Io with present day core-mantle boundary (CMB) pressures of ∼8, ∼5, and 7 GPa, respectively, if sufficiently volatile-rich, may either have a stratified core or may have experienced core stratification owing to liquid immiscibility at some stage of their accretion. A similar argument can be made for terrestrial planetary bodies such as Mercury and Earth’s Moon, but no such stratification is predicted for cores of terrestrial planets such as Earth, Venus, and Mars with the present day core pressure in the order ?136 GPa, ?100 GPa, and ?23 GPa. (e) Owing to different expected densities of Fe-rich (and carbon-bearing) and sulfur-rich metallic melts, their settling velocities are likely different; thus core formation in terrestrial planets may involve rain of more than one metallic melt through silicate magma ocean. (f) For small planetary bodies that have core pressures <6 GPa and have a molten core or outer core, settling of denser carbide-rich liquid or flotation of lighter, sulfide-rich melt may contribute to an early, short-lived geodynamo.  相似文献

根据地表热辐射传导方程,提出了一个简单可行且精度较高的专门用于从TM6数据中演算地表温度的方法——单窗算法.这一算法把大气和地表状态对地表热传导的影响直接包括在演算公式中.该方法需要两个大气参数进行地表温度的演算,即大气平均作用温度和大气透射率.本文论述这两个大气参数的估计方法:根据大气水分含量或地表附近空气湿度来估计大气透射率;通过分析标准大气剖面资料,尤其是大气水分和气温随高程的变化规律,根据地表温度推算大气平均作用温度.  相似文献

Using the relation proposed by Weinberg in 1972, combining quantum and cosmological parameters, we prove that the self gravitational potential energy of any fundamental particle is a quantum, with physical properties independent of the mass of the particle. It is a universal quantum of gravitational energy, and its physical properties depend only on the cosmological scale factor R and the physical constants and c. We propose a modification of the Weinberg’s relation, keeping the same numerical value, but substituting the cosmological parameter H/c by 1/R.  相似文献
