This paper presents an on-line trained neural net work controller for ship track-keeping problems. Following a brief review of the ship track-keeping control development since the 1980's, an analysis of various existing backpropagation-based neural controllers is provided. We then propose a single-input multioutput (SIMO) neural control strategy for situations where the exact mathematical dynamics of the ship are not available. The aim of this study is to build an autonomous neural controller which uses rudder to regulate both the tracking error and heading error. During the whole control process, the proposed SIMO neural controller adapts itself on-line from a direct evaluation of the control accuracy, and hence the need for a “teacher” or an off-line training process can be removed. With a relatively modest amount of quantitative knowledge of the ship behavior, the design philosophy enables real time control of a nonlinear ship model under random wind disturbances and measurement noise. In many astrophysical problems, the study of the stability of an atmosphere in the presence of a magnetic field is of importance. In most cases the MHD instabilities of atmospheres are studied by energy principle of Bernsteinet al. (1958). In this paper, a general method for studying the stability of a system subject to MHD equations of conditions has been proposed. A numerical time simulation method is described to solve fluid flow problems including unsteady free surface motion. The method is based on potential flow theory. At every time step, the problem is solved using a boundary integral formulation of the fluid domain. The linearized free surface conditions are integrated in time and the solution is marched forward. Computational results simulating the free surface motion for the cases of a linear progressive wave, wave propagating into a region of calm water and the wave maker motion are presented. Calculation of transverse hydrodynamic coefficients using computational fluid dynamic approach 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) based on Reynolds Averaged Navier–Stokes equation is used for determining the transverse hydrodynamic damping force and moment coefficients that are needed in the maneuverability study of marine vehicles. Computations are performed for two geometrical shapes representing typical AUVs presently in use. Results are compared with available data on similar geometries and from some of the available semi-empirical relations. It is found that the CFD predictions compares reasonable well with these results. In particular, the CFD predictions of forces and moments are found to be nonlinear with respect to the transverse velocity, and therefore both linear and nonlinear coefficients can be derived. A discussion on the sources of the component forces reveal that the total force and moment variations should in fact be nonlinear. 相似文献

Modest observations and numerical experiments were conducted to investigate circulation and brackish water dispersal in a
coastal lagoon southwest of Taiwan. The Chi-Ku Lagoon, partially shielded from the sea by a string of sandbar barriers with
two entrances among them, receives modest and episodic runoff from Chi-Ku Stream. Flood and ebb tidal streams entering and
leaving the two entrances are found to converge and diverge in a flow stagnation area inside the lagoon. Under weak wind conditions,
brackish water is preferentially retained in the flow stagnation area. Besides the observations, scenario runs using a three-dimensional
numerical model also indicate strong modulation by monsoon winds. Both summer southwest monsoon and winter northeast monsoon
reduce brackish water retention; the latter is found to be more effective.

Surface-layer features with different prevailing wind directions for two distinct seasons (Southwest Monsoon and Northeast Monsoon) on the west coast of India are studied using data obtained from tower-based sensors at a site located about 500 m from the coast.
