Detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) and power spectrum density are applied to verify the presence of temporal scaling behavior and long-range persistence (LRP) of weekly hydrogen ion deposition (WHD), NO3- and SO42- deposition series in National Atmospheric Deposition Program, USA, for the period 1978–2001. The results show a common scaling behavior for all sites analyzed. Two distinct scaling regions are identified by DFA1, one corresponding to 1 month to 1 year and the other to 1 year to 5 years. The WHD series obey power-law in two temporal regimes respectively with mean DFA1 scaling exponents α
1≈0.68 and α
2≈0.45, implying the presence of LRP in the acid deposition series and there is a tendency for a large deposition event to be followed by another large event, and vice versa. For DFA2–DFA4, however, the annual crossover, which divides the temporal scale into two regimes, disappears gradually with the order q of DFAq increasing, and the two scaling regimes turn to share the same scaling exponent close to α
1. The result indicates that the scaling behavior exits in the two regimes with the same scaling exponent α
1, and LRP prevails during the examined 1-month to 5-years scale. NO3- and SO42- deposition evolve the same way as WHD does, implying the pollutants involving in acid deposition may share some prominent mechanism controlling their evolutions. We ascribe the long-range power-law scaling of acid deposition evolutions to the self-organized critical behavior of atmosphere under pollution stress and it should be considered in the trend prediction of acid deposition as an important factor. 相似文献

Earthquake hazard parameters such as maximum magnitude, annual mean seismic activity rate, and the Gutenberg-Richter parameter,
have been evaluated for the Hellenic and Cyprean Arc regions of the Eastern Mediterranean. The applied maximum likelihood
procedure permits the combination of both historical and instrumental data. The collected data from different sources cover
earthquakes with magnitude ≥ 3.5 throughout the last two centuries. The historical part of the catalogue only contains the
strongest events, whereas the complete part can be divided into several subcatalogues, each assumed complete above a specific
threshold of magnitude.
The hazard parameters assessment is performed for the two study regions. The Hellenic Arc region was found to be of higher
seismicity level than the Cyprean Arc region. The number of annually expected earthquakes with magnitude ≥ 3.5 is much larger
in the Hellenic Arc (56±2) than in the Cyprean Arc (35±2). The maximum magnitude calculated in the Hellenic Arc zone is 7.8±0.4
for the time period equal to the length of the catalogue, i.e., 210 years. For the Cyprean Arc zone, the maximum possible

Polymetallic ores yield evidence of semiconductor textures creating irregularly distributed trap zones of electric charges produced by electrochemical reactions and mechanoelectric conversions. Such zones bounded by natural barriers can contain charges concentrated in separate parts of an ore-bearing province and reside in this state for a long time. If this equilibrium is disturbed, the energy (electric charges) is redistributed and signals of pulsed electromagnetic emission in the radiowave frequency range (PEERFR) are radiated. The set of properties of polymetallic ores recorded under in situ conditions and studied in the laboratory suggests a trigger mechanism of PEERFR signal generation. The triggering threshold of this mechanism depends on mining and geological conditions and the concentration and structure of ores. The energy released in ores can be many times larger than the activation energy of this process. 相似文献

Four international standards, Ga1550, MMhb-1, Lp-6, Bem 4M, and one domestic standard BT-1 have been intercalibrated. The
repeated measurements on MMhb-1 with different mass demonstrate that MMhb-1 is inhomogeneous in age and its average age is
519.8 Ma. The results of Bern 4M and Lp-6 reflect that they have an invariable value of 40Ar*/39Ark (F) and the ages we obtained are consensus with their K-Ar age: Lp-6=127.7Ma; Bern 4M=18.2 Ma. Analyses of BT-1 age spectra,
Ca/K and Cl/K spectra as well as inverse isochrons indicate that the sample is homogeneous and invariable and keeps close
chemically, with its trapped argon isotope composition close to the atmosphere. The dating results show that age values are
reproducible and steady, total fusion age, step-heating age, plateau age and isochron age are in accord with each other within
the error range (2σ). Therefore, we recommend 28.7 Ma as the calibrated age of BT-1.
We also discuss the variation in neutron flux gradients of Beijing 49-2 reactor. It was found that the neutron flux gradient
varies considerably, and more monitors (standard samples) are needed to fix the trend of variation. The coefficient of the
49-2 reactor that transfers the ratio of production rate of 37ArCa/39ArK into Ca/K ratio is 1.78. This is different from that reported earlier, 2.0, which may be caused by the reconstruction of

As a result of detailed paleomagnetic and magnetic studies of Paleolithic site deposits in the Matuzka Cave, a record of the Matuzka geomagnetic excursion in lithologic layer 7 has been discovered and studied. Such characteristic features as the geomagnetic field direction, position of the virtual geomagnetic pole, geomagnetic field intensity (roughly estimated) after and during the excursion, and climatic conditions coeval with its existence make the Matuzka excursion similar to the ~130-ka Blake excursion. The ability of California's water supply system to adapt to long-term climatic and demographic changes is examined. Two climate warming and a historical climate scenario are examined with population and land use estimates for the year 2100 using a statewide economic-engineering optimization model of water supply management. Methodologically, the results of this analysis indicate that for long-term climate change studies of complex systems, there is considerable value in including other major changes expected during a long-term time-frame (such as population changes), allowing the system to adapt to changes in conditions (a common feature of human societies), and representing the system in sufficient hydrologic and operational detail and breadth to allow significant adaptation. While the policy results of this study are preliminary, they point to a considerable engineering and economic ability of complex, diverse, and inter-tied systems to adapt to significant changes in climate and population. More specifically, California's water supply system appears physically capable of adapting to significant changes in climate and population, albeit at a significant cost. Such adaptation would entail large changes in the operation of California's large groundwater storage capacity, significant transfers of water among water users, and some adoption of new technologies. 相似文献

Summary This paper determines the characteristic air mass types over the Carpathian Basin for the winter (December, January, and February)
and summer (June, July and August) months dependant on levels of the main air pollutants. Based on the ECMWF data set, daily
sea-level pressure fields analysed at 00 UTC were prepared for each air mass type (cluster) in order to relate sea-level pressure
patterns with the level of air pollutants in Szeged. The data comprise daily values of twelve meteorological and eight pollutant
parameters for the period 1997–2001. Objective definition of the characteristic air mass types is achieved by using the methods
of Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis. According to the results, during the winter months five air mass types (clusters)
were detected based on higher concentrations of primary pollutants that occur with high irradiance and low wind speed. This
is the case when an anticyclone is found over the Carpathian Basin and over the region south of Hungary, influencing the weather
of the country. Low levels of pollutants occur when zonal currents exert influence over Hungary. During the summer months
anticyclones and anticyclone ridge situations are found over the Carpathian Basin. (During the prevalence of anticyclone ridge
situations, the Carpathian Basin is found at the edge of a high pressure centre.) As a result of high irradiance and very

地表调查表明,沿青藏铁路唐古拉山-拉萨段存在5条重要的全新世控震断裂带,从北到南分别是温泉盆地西缘断裂带、安多盆地北缘断裂带、崩错断裂带、谷露西缘断裂带和当雄-羊八井断裂带.构造-地貌和年代学分析结果表明,北部的温泉盆地西缘断裂和安多盆地北缘断裂带的活动强度相对比较小,平均垂直活动速率约为0.2~0.5mm/a.南侧的谷露西缘断裂带和当雄-羊八井断裂带的全新世垂直活动速率为约(15±0.5)mm/a.而中部的崩错走滑断裂带的活动强度最大,晚第四纪期间的走滑速率可达(11±4.5)mm/a.全新世断裂活动和古地震研究表明,其中温泉盆地西缘断裂带、安多盆地北缘断裂带、崩错断裂带的西北分支、当雄-羊八井断裂带的当雄段等区域未来发生强震的概率相对更大. 相似文献

根据对大九湖297cm厚的泥炭地层10个AMS 14 C年龄的测定以及148块孢粉样品的分析,发现每块样品的孢粉(浓度)含量都很高,植物种类繁多,分属于137(科)属,可划分为6个孢粉组合带,植被类型演替大体为:含少量常绿树种的针阔叶混交林—含常绿阔叶树种的落叶阔叶林—常绿落叶阔叶林—含常绿阔叶树种的落叶阔叶林—含少量常绿树种的针阔叶混交林。孢粉带Ⅰ(15.753~11.280kaB.P.)记录了该区域晚冰期及其向全新世过渡时期冷暖波动频繁的气候条件,其中亚带Ⅰ -1(15.753~15.549kaB.P.),Ⅰ -3(14.936~14.505kaB.P.)和Ⅰ -5(12.655~11.280kaB.P.)可能分别对应最老仙女木期、老仙女木和新仙女木冷期,而亚带Ⅰ -2(15.549~14.936kaB.P.)和Ⅰ -4(14.505~12.655kaB.P.)分别对应博令和阿勒罗德暖期。孢粉带Ⅱ(11.280~9.218kaB.P.)代表了由晚冰期冷湿气候向全新世温暖气候转换的早全新世缓慢升温的过渡时期。孢粉带Ⅲ(9.218~7.530kaB.P.)代表中全新世前期的气温波动上升期,7.7kaB.P.前后达到最高温。孢粉带Ⅳ(7.530~4.051kaB.P.)代表中全新世适宜期,水热配置条件最佳。孢粉带Ⅴ(4.051~0.911kaB.P.)体现晚全新世温干的气候。孢粉带Ⅵ(0.911~0kaB.P)反映了大九湖温凉稍湿的气候。 相似文献
