Thiophene-containing solutions were electroreductively desulfurized by a dynamic method. Initially, cyclic voltammetry was utilized to study thiophene electroadsorption from aqueous solution onto a platinum electrode surface and also to investigate the thiophene electroreductive behavior. Then, the solution was desulfurized via a square wave potentiometry method. The objective of this study was to find the optimal conditions. In this regard, the best adsorption potential, electroreduction potential, and square wave frequency were found to be ?0.54 V, ?0.95 V, and 1 Hz, respectively. Finally, a model fuel (containing 294 part per millions thiophene) was desulfurized by the square wave potentiometry method. Gas chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used to examine the feed and product solutions. Gas chromatographic measurements revealed that sulfur content decreased to 55 part per millions. Based on the acquired results, electroreductive desulfurization could be designated as an efficient superseded for the commercial hydrodesulfurization process. However, more studies must perform to overcome technical limitations of electroreductive desulfurization technique and to guarantee its reliability.  相似文献

Pathogenic bacteria are a serious public health concern. Exposure to these microorganisms can result in illnesses or even death. Therefore, it is important to control pathogenic bacteria sources, transport mechanisms and fate. Best management practices proved to be very effective in the control of non-point source pollution. In this study, the soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) was modified and used to simulate the fecal coliform in Chao River of Miyun Reservoir watershed, China. The model was then used to explore the effectiveness of vegetative filter strips (VFS) in reducing fecal coliform abundance throughout the watershed. The water temperature equation within the SWAT was modified to align the model more closely with the characteristics of the study area and generate a more accurate simulation. The DAFSratio (20, 50, 80, 120 and 150) and DFcon (0.25, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.75) parameters were considered for VFS to see their effects on removal efficiency. The results show that calibration and validation results for fecal coliform and flow can be accepted. Different values for DAFSratio and DFcon have great influence on VFS. Increasing values resulted in a decrease in the removal efficiency of VFS.  相似文献

In order to prepare iron phosphate by waste sludge, we report a method for effective utilization of the sludge obtained from the electrocoagulation treatment of source-separated urine. The sludge was dissolved with hydrochloric acid and pretreated with H2O2 and Na3PO4; finally, NaOH was added to precipitate iron phosphate from the solution. Thermal treatment of the precipitate at 750 °C in air yielded crystalline quartz-like anhydrous FePO4. The precipitate was characterized by a number of thermal techniques such as thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction.  相似文献

Amorphous tin(VI) hydrogen phosphate (ATHP) was synthesized using the liquid phase precipitation method and served as an adsorbent to remove Pb(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) from aqueous solutions. The ATHP was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and nitrogen adsorption–desorption techniques. Adsorption properties were evaluated as a function of pH, reaction time, concentration of reactants, and salinity. Their equilibrium adsorption data were modeled using Freundlich, Langmuir, and Dubinin–Kaganer–Radushkevich isotherms, respectively. The results revealed that adsorption equilibrium reached within 180 min. ATHP indicated good adsorption even below the pHZPC, and best adsorption at pH 5 for Pb(II) and Cu(II) and at pH 5.5 for Zn(II) was observed. Equilibrium data fitted better to the Langmuir model for Pb(II) and Cu(II) and fitted better to the Freundlich model for Zn(II). The saturated adsorption capacities deduced from the Langmuir model were 2.425, 1.801, and 0.600 mmol/g for Cu(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II), respectively, indicating an adsorption affinity order of Cu > Pb > Zn. There is a negative correlation between the concentration of NaCl and adsorption capacity of ATHP, yet ATHP still exhibited excellent adsorption having an adsorption capacity of 19.35, 15.16, 6.425 mg/g when the concentration of NaCl was 0.6 mol/L. The free energy (E) was 12.33, 10.70, and 14.74 kJ/mol for Pb(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II), respectively. An adsorption mechanism based on ion exchange between heavy metal ions and H+ in the ATHP is proposed. Furthermore, the used ATHP was regenerated by HCl solution and the adsorbent was used repeatedly.  相似文献

Blasting is a widely used technique for rock fragmentation in opencast mines and tunneling projects. Ground vibration is one of the most environmental effects produced by blasting operation. Therefore, the proper prediction of blast-induced ground vibrations is essential to identify safety area of blasting. This paper presents a predictive model based on gene expression programming (GEP) for estimating ground vibration produced by blasting operations conducted in a granite quarry, Malaysia. To achieve this aim, a total number of 102 blasting operations were investigated and relevant blasting parameters were measured. Furthermore, the most influential parameters on ground vibration, i.e., burden-to-spacing ratio, hole depth, stemming, powder factor, maximum charge per delay, and the distance from the blast face were considered and utilized to construct the GEP model. In order to show the capability of GEP model in estimating ground vibration, nonlinear multiple regression (NLMR) technique was also performed using the same datasets. The results demonstrated that the proposed model is able to predict blast-induced ground vibration more accurately than other developed technique. Coefficient of determination values of 0.914 and 0.874 for training and testing datasets of GEP model, respectively show superiority of this model in predicting ground vibration, while these values were obtained as 0.829 and 0.790 for NLMR model.  相似文献

In this paper, a new vertical broadband seismometer is designed, simulated, and evaluated. The proposed seismometer has a bandwidth from 40 s to 50 Hz and sensitivity to ground velocity of 1500 V’/m/s. The mechanical suspension used in the proposed design is a mass-leaf spring rotational pendulum. The displacement of the seismic mass is sensed by a laser interferometer and then forwarded to an electronic force feedback system which feeds a linear actuator to keep the mass almost fixed in its position. The current needed to fix the mass in its position is an indication of the ground acceleration. The performance of the simulated seismometer is evaluated by applying a data record of two actual earthquakes to the simulated model and comparing its response to the earthquakes with that of a real seismometer (Trillium-40) having the same bandwidth and sensitivity. The proposed seismometer has performed within 0.4 % residual variance for the local event and 0.03 % residual variance for the regional one compared to Trillium-40.  相似文献

The phase state of the fluid in the H2O–KF ± KCl ± NaF system is studied in the presence of quartz for an experimental assay of the mutual influence of various salts of the fluid-forming mixture on heterogeneous fluid equilibria. The fluid inclusions were synthesized in quartz by the fracture healing method from solutions with KF + KCl and KF + NaF mixtures at 1 or 2 kbar and 700, 750, or 800°C. The results of the fluid inclusion study indicate a heterogeneous state of the fluid and variation in the fluid composition during experiments as a result of its interaction with quartz. The increase in temperature and pressure, as well as variation in the proportions of the salt contents in the fluid-forming mixture, changed the course of chemical reactions. After all the experiments, a glassy phase was observed in some types of inclusions. It is known that aqueous KF or KCl solutions, the solubility of which increases during heating, are characterized by phase equilibria of systems of the first type (Valyashko, 1990), when liquid and vapor are equilibrated for a heterogeneous state of the fluid. In this case, some inclusions should homogenize to vapor. However, no similar inclusions were observed in contrast to denser fluid phases (liquids), which are typical of the upper heterogeneous area of systems of the second (P–Q) type. Some inclusions host solid phases, the solubility of which decreases as the temperature increases. The results of experiments in the presence of KF + NaF solutions showed that the amount of inclusions of heterogeneous entrapment increases at higher temperatures simultaneously with a decrease in the H2O content of the glassy phase.  相似文献

Geological, geochronological, and isotope-geochemical studies of the metadolerites of the Angaul complex, widespread in the Urik-Iya graben of the southern Siberian craton, were carried out. The metadolerites forming separate conformal bodies (sills) among the metasandstones of the Ingash Formation were studied in detail. U-Pb zircon (SHRIMP) dating of metadolerites yielded an age of 1913 ± 24 Ma, and U-Pb baddeleyite (ID-TIMS) dating of these rocks yielded an age of 1914.0 ± 1.7 Ma. Thus, the date of 1914 ± 2 Ma can be taken as the most precise age estimate for the studied rocks. The metadolerites of the Angaul complex correspond in chemical composition to the normal-alkaline tholeiitic basalts. Metadolerites are differentiated rocks with mg# of 36 to 58. They show fractionated REE patterns: (La/Yb)n = 1.2-3.5. All metadolerites, independently of their mg# value, have low contents of Nb (1.6-10.2 ppm) and show well-pronounced negative Nb-Ta anomalies in multielement patterns (Nb/Nb* = 0.19-0.54). The metadolerites are characterized by positive εNd(T) values ranging from 0.4 to 5.2, which correlate well with their SiO2 content and mg# value. The isotope-geochemical parameters of the metadolerites of the Angaul complex indicate that fractional crystallization, along with the assimilation of the host rocks (AFC), might have been the main process during the formation of the most differentiated metadolerites. The geochemical characteristics of metadolerites with the maximum mg# values of 57-58 and εNd(T) = 5.2 suggest that the parental mantle source of the metadolerites resulted from mixing of predominant depleted mantle material with the subcontinental-lithosphere material. Intrusion of the dolerites of the Angaul complex, as well as the deposition of the sedimentary strata of the Ingash Group, took place at the Paleoproterozoic stage of intracontinental extension caused by the collapse of the orogen resulted from the collision of the Biryusa block with the Tunguska superterrane in the southern Siberian craton.  相似文献
