Sandstone dissolution is a common water–rock reaction in the Earth’s crust, but a thorough understanding of this phenomenon is constrained by poorly determined kinetic data. To this end, kinetic data were determined for the dissolution of arkosic sandstone powders in deionised water (pH was about 7.0–7.3 and electrical conductivity was between 0.95 and 1.00 μS/cm). Release rates of dissolved elements were determined over the range 50–350 °C at 20, 15, and 10 MPa using a column flow-through pressure vessel reactor. The conductivity of the outlet solution, measured at room temperature, is dependent on the charge of major cations such as Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ at these conditions. The conductivity of the outlet solution was used to determine the steady state of the dissolution of sandstone powders. The pH values of the outlet solutions at the steady state, measured ex situ at room temperature, were about 7.7, 8.3, 8.4, 8.4 and 7.6 at 75, 100, 150, 200 and 250 °C, respectively, at 10 MPa. Silicon, Na, K, Ca, Al and Mg are the major ions found in the solution at low temperatures, but Si is the only major ion retained at higher temperatures (>150 °C). Compared with static experiments, the flowing dissolution experiments occurred at conditions far from equilibrium. The relationship between temperature and dissolution rates of arkosic sandstone powders was described as log R = 0.005469t − 10.50 where R is the dissolution rates of sandstone powders in kg/(m2 s), t is temperature in °C which ranged from 100 to 350 °C at 20 and 15 MPa, and the dissolution rates of sandstone powders were measured only for the major dissolved elements without oxygen in the outlet solutions. 相似文献

The occurrence and development of riparian forests, which were mainly dominated by mesophytes species related closely with
surface water. Since there was no water discharged to the lower reaches of Tarim River in the past three decade years, the
riparian forests degrade severely. The groundwater table, the saline content of the groundwater, as well as the content of
free proline, soluble sugars, plant endogenous hormones (abscisic acid (ABA), and cytokinins (CTK)) of the leaves and relative
rates of sap flow of the Populus euphratica Oliv. (arbor species), Tamarix ramosissima Ldb. (bush species), and Apocynum venetum L. (herb species) were monitored and analyzed at the lower reaches of the Tarim River in the study area where five positions
on a transect were fixed at 100 m intervals along a sampling direction from riverbank to the sand dunes before and after water
release. The physiological responses and acclimation strategies of three species to variations in water and salinity stress
were discussed. It was found that A. venetum population recovered to groundwater table ranging from −1.73 to −3.56 m, and when exposed to saline content of the groundwater
ranging from 36.59 to 93.48 m mol/L; P. euphratica appeared to be more sensitive to the elevation of groundwater table than the A. venetum and T. ramosissima at groundwater table ranging from −5.08 to −5.80 m, and when exposed to saline content of the groundwater ranging from 42.17
to 49.55 m mol/L. T. ramosissima tended to be the best candidate species for reclamation in this hyper-arid area because it responded to groundwater table
ranging from −1.73 to −7.05 m, and when exposed to saline content of the groundwater ranging from 36.59 to 93.48 m mol/L.
These results explained the distribution patterns of desert vegetation in the lower reaches of the Tarim River. Understanding
the relationships among ecological factors variables, physiological response and acclimation strategies of plant individuals

Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) is an important indicator for measuring vegetation coverage, which is of great significance for evaluating vegetation dynamics and vegetation restoration. It can clearly analyze the suitable growth condition of vegetation by studying the relationship between meteorological factors, soil moisture and NDVI. Based on MODIS/NDVI data, the spatio-temporal characteristics of vegetation coverage in the Weihe River Basin (WRB) were analyzed by the trend analysis method. The relationship of NDVI with meteorological factors and NDVI with soil moisture simulated by the soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) model was analyzed in this paper. The results show that NDVI values gradually change with an increase from north to south in the WRB. The maximum of the average monthly NDVI is 0.702 (August) and the minimum is 0.288 in February from 2000 to 2015. The results of the seven grades of NDVI trend line slope indicate that the improvement area of vegetation coverage accounts for 30.93% of the total basin, and the degradation area and basically unchanged area account for 23% and 42.9%, respectively. The annual mean soil moisture is 19.37% in the WRB. There was a strong correlation between NDVI and precipitation, temperature, evaporation and soil moisture, and the correlation coefficients were 0.78, 0.89, 0.71 and 0.65, respectively. The ranges of the most suitable growth conditions for vegetation are 80–145 mm (precipitation), 13–23 °C (temperature), 94–144 mm (evaporation) and 25–33% (soil moisture), respectively. 相似文献

A nonlinear magnitude frequency equation has been derived in this paper on the assumption that all seismicity systems hold
fractal characteristics, and according to the differences of relevant coefficients in the equation, seismicity systems are
classified into two types: type I, the whole earthquake activity is controlled by only one great unified system; type II,
the whole earthquake activity is controlled by more than one great system. One type of seismicity system may convert to the
other type, generally. For example, a type I system will change to a type II system prior to the occurrence of a strong earthquake
in North China. This change can be regarded as an index for earthquake trend estimation. In addition, the difference between

从孢粉植物分异及演变,干旱碎屑及膏盐沉积分布等方面,对柴达木盆地西部新生代气候与地形的演变进行了探讨。结果表明,盆地西部新生代两个极端干燥气候期(膏盐发育期)分别出现在始新世至渐新世及上新世至第四纪。前者与老第三纪行星环流控制下的副热带干燥带有关,而后者与青藏高原的隆升有关。早第三纪盆地西部及周围地区的地势不象以前所认为的那么低平。在第三纪,昆仑山比祁连山低。晚新生代盆地向北推移了7-11个纬距。 相似文献

Abstract Papadopulos and Cooper's (PC) solution can be used to describe the drawdown resulting from pumping with a constant rate at a large-diameter well. However, this solution is too complicated to be accurately evaluated due to the oscillatory nature of the Bessel functions. The PC approach resulted in tabulated values of dimensionless drawdown at the well with an accuracy of four or fewer digits for selected values of dimensionless storage coefficient versus dimensionless time. Some researchers have fitted the tabulated values with interpolation formulas that are easy to use in engineering applications. Those formulas may be more accurate if the tabulated values are computed with greater accuracy. In this study, we propose an efficient numerical procedure, including a root search scheme, to find the roots of the integrand, Gaussian quadrature for numerical integration, and Shanks transform to accelerate convergence of infinite series. The proposed procedure can evaluate the dimensionless drawdown with greater accuracy and is useful in practice if there is a need for high accuracy for the observation either at the well or in the aquifer at some distance from the pumping well Editor D.
